Hydrus off-ride 4K Casino Pier

This Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter features a 72 foot (23m) tall vertical lift hill, a 97° beyond vertical drop, three inversions and a top speed of 45 mph (72.5 km/h). The coaster replaces the infamous Star Jet coaster that ended up in the Atlantic Ocean following Hurricane Sandy in 2012.

Being from the jersey shore this coaster has changed a lot

At 00:49, you can see a little wedge of metal attached to the lift chain. That's why Gerstlauer lifts are so smooth.
The wedge moves slowly, engages the chain dog, keeps moving slowly for a bit, and THEN it speeds up.
Been wondering for decades how Gerstlauer did this, now I know.
