NOPE. I appreciate the tech advances, but: 1) Exterior is bulbous and bland imo, it is larger and heavier. The rear looks fine. 2) Interior has more plastics, widescreen like everyone else, most physical buttons gone. More glossy areas for fingerprints, don't like the giant lighted thick "U" in the center console. 3) Ambient lighting gone for the rear doors 4) Comfort rear access is gone 5) Sunroof does not open People who know BMW's may consider the previous gen interior to be dated, but I'm new to BMW and the 24 interior simply looks like a classier, higher quality place to be. I could have chosen and afforded either, but it was pretty easy. A loaded 24 X3 M40i. Perhaps the LCI in a few years.
Could not have said it better myself. From a profile view, this could be any of five or six small SUV’s. I have not seen the interior in person, but from the pics, no thanks. This is not a bad looking car, inside and out - but it sure doesn’t look like a BMW, and it doesn’t look like a distinguished luxury brand in any way, shape, or form. Except for the B58, might as well save a ton and buy a Mazda.
Lot of people are complaining no sunroof. I've had sunroofs in all of my cars and never opened them at all national defense to me the interiors what I'm not liking all the plastic all the lighting looks like you're in outer space
I would order the M Sport trim to minimize that kidney grill design. The only other issue for me is that they got rid of the BMW quad headlight design. So far I'm not digging that. As for the rest of the design, I like it. Very clean. As for the competition, GLC is a granny car imo. And the Audi is sharp but no prices yet. And the Genesis prices are crazy. Am I missing something? Start at 61k? I'm shopping for a new car now and I've narrowed it down to the Audi or BMW. I might even go for a X1 M35 as I like the front end more.
I really feel like all the people who don’t like this x3 are people who recently bought the older x3. I just bought the new one, and compared it the older one, and the design, drive and tech, are way more advanced and better than the older one🤷🏽♂️
Tech is cooler! Adaptive cruise control recognizes red lights, interior camera is good, parking assistance professional is offered- awesome, drives awesome! But what about the interior door handle, rear seat comfort access is gone, so is rear seat recline, fixed moonroof, headlights switch integrated into turn signal, lot of plastic replacing leatherette.
😢 poor design choices but luckily it’s very subjective To this day I cannot get over the vertical grills on the 3’s 🤢🤮 And this one looks unappealing kinda generic in some of the shape overall. Oh well I’m stoked the 2024 x3 is freaking amazing all around
1. The interior door handle feels cheap. 2. No ambient lighting in the rear. 3. Headlight switch integrated on turn signal like Nissan. 4. More plastic less choice of interior trim. 5. Fixed moonroof. 6. Sits lower to the ground by 1 inch. 7. Hideous grill. 8. No comfort access in the rear. I test drove it, it drives awesome but not my favorite! I prefer the older generation. The only good features are parking assistance professional and interior camera!
Great review and props to BMW for all the interior 'gimmicks' to be unique. However the vehicle is FUGLY inside and out. I feel sorry for anyone who keeps this past warranty - when those screens fail, good luck. I wouldn't go near any of it's competitors within the same vehicle segment.
you missed the elephant in the room, how cheap this new interior is , the cost cutting is so bad they had to save 10 dollars on seat side bolsters on the front seats with cloth, hard plastics everywhere, rear comfort access gone, ambient lights gone in rear as well as door pockets(bottle holders) , dash and door tops are straight from a kia and lower dash felt like it came from a garbage recycling factory , its terrible inside out, doesnt feel like a bmw whats so ever . absoulte garbage interior , in canada this monstrocity is 100k after taxes you must be kidding me any car thats over 70k should not have to deal with this interior quality. i want to see the guy who thought cloth is a good material in a luxury car, cloth used to be the base material in a 20k car
@@unowen-nh9ov That's the plan!! Seriously tho, this is kinda personal.. I own 2 x3's that I both bought new. I've been a full on x3 fan boy for 12 years. I was certain I would only buy x3's forever, but they ruined this car inside and out.
Would you take this over the Mercedes-Benz GLC, Genesis GV70, Audi Q5 and Porsche Macan?
absolutely not , interior does not belong in a bmw. more like a kia rental with cheap plastic everywhere.
The only good thing is the way it drives!

@@kevinn1158 excellent feedback, Kevin!
Why no opening sunroof?
Where's Steph?
Interior is crap! Reason why I will not change my 2022 X3 M40d…
Fantastic, will sell like hotcakes……looks beautiful

This new 2025 X3 design looks like the XM Ev; the real aggressive style of X3 is gone RIP.
