      @@Mutrino the world disagrees with you since iphones are the #1 selling phone. 1.36 billion people own an iphone (according to google). If it was "overpriced" people wouldn't buy it. Iphone has the fastest chips, best cameras, most polished os, and amazing battery life. No other phone checks all those boxes, sure some niche android phone might have a giant 999 megapixel camera that's slightly better than an iphone camera but it's gonna be garbage in every other category. As someone who used to own a samsung galaxy phone, I can say that iphones are just better. They're expensive, but they're not "overpriced" relatively speaking when comparing to the competition. The added "freedom" or "customization" of an android phone is useless for most people. Obviously this is my opinion, but the market agrees with me.

      @@ilovehotdogs125790 I disagree with your statement. 'If it was overpriced people wouldn't buy it'. That is simply not true. I am not saying iphones are 'bad' phones. They are certainly good phones. But it is nonsense to say that they always win in every category. Simply not true. When you start comparing the flagship phones the Samsung galaxy phones are superior to the Iphones when it comes to battery life and cameras. 'Better' very much depends on your use scenario. As an example, for my use case a windows machine is far superior to a Mac. And when it comes to stupid fast chips, cool, most people don't need/use that either. Iphones are stupid expensive to repair but do keep their value better. So overall, certainly not the clear win for Iphones you make it out to be. It very much depends.

    Great comparison video I just recently bought a 3090 right before the 4090 came out because it was at a good price. The fact that you are getting close to 100 FPS at 4K with a 3090 is really reassuring considering that I game at 1440p which will give me more than enough FPS at ultra settings

    • @dusk3219
      @dusk3219 Год назад +5

      Hey, I plan on purchasing a 3090 ti also, what CpU would you recommend? I was thinking about purchasing a 12700k but not sure if I should get a 12900k or a 13th gen. The 12900k and 13th gen run really hot so If I go with those I would have to upgrade my AIO. I plan on gaming at 1440 p and sometimes 4k.

    • @CovertPhilosopher
      @CovertPhilosopher Год назад +6

      @@dusk3219 for gaming only many even recommend the 12600k and I have seen it's performance in many reviews, it holds up well. But for me as my recently built machine was also a work station so I opted for the 12700k, it's a great CPU and was a good choice for me. So I think you're pretty safe going with the 12700k, the 12900k has a good performance boost but if you don't run any other workloads than gaming then I think it might be overkill esp with power consumption and then the obvious price difference. Same goes for the 13th gen, I watched some reviews they are a great performance boost and the same 13700k has a lot of boost over 12700k but then again the downside - power consumption has been increased and then comes the price, I say if Money is not a problem you can go for the 13700k heck even the 13600k as its gaming performance is close to the 12900k !

    • @dusk3219
      @dusk3219 Год назад +3

      @@CovertPhilosopher Thanks man, this was reassuring! Could you define “workloads”? I mainly plan on gaming. I have a dual monitor setup where I normally watch a show, movie, anime or RUclips on my second monitor all while gaming. Nothing too major. My PC would purely be for entertainment for now. Money is very tight at the moment so If I could save money by going with a 12700k that’s what I would love to do! But if I need to upgrade I would. So you think I should go with the 12700k? Also I was wondering does a 3090 ti *need* to be water cooled to be efficient ? When I look up best coolers for 3090 ti, see people using water cooling as a solution. Does it really run that hot? Could I just use fans to cool it? I don’t plan on OC my gpu. Sorry to bombard you with a bunch of questions but this is my first pc build

    • @CovertPhilosopher
      @CovertPhilosopher Год назад +3

      @@dusk3219 sorry for the late reply, so by workloads I meant specific tasks that hog the CPU with or without the GPU in use. Like some programs that require processing or calculations a lot and also multi threaded usage, for me that could be development related usage based on running of processor n memory heavy programs. For your use case I think your pretty good as it's only for entertainment purposes but opening multiple apps alongside like you intend I would recommend getting a minimum of 16gb ram. As for the CPU i think the i7 12700K would be solid for you, not advocating as I have it, I think it will future proof you a bit too, and talking about the future - yes when buying myself I checked out the upcoming sockets, so your 12th gen board will support the 13th gen but beyond that like for the 14 or 15 gen yes you will need a new board but that is us looking too far down the road. So I think yes if money is a constraint just go for the 12th gen on either the 12600 or the 12700k, hope this helps.
      And as for the GPU, air coolers run just fine, though keep in mind while looking for one find a GPU from an AIB preferably which has good reviews and esp on cooling. As for the comparisons yes the water cooled rigs are more efficient but require more maintenance, air cooled CPU and GPU always have a longer life according to experts and provide decent enough cooling. But - if you don't want a mini heater in your room dishing out so much hot air and that heat is of a major concern to you then by all means go for the liquid cooler, just bear in mind that the RnD should be thorough and that you buy something that best suits you and has a good overall life.
      P.S. I also did my first ever build after decades recently so I got to know some stuff :)

    The RTX 4090 is around 50%-80% faster than the RTX 3090, whilst consuming around 10% higher power (or in other reviews 30% higher). In price to performance comparison the RTX 4090 is 1599$ and the 3090 is around 900$, so I would say it's pretty balanced. With all of those metrics I would say if you want the absolute top end, best of the best gpu, the RTX 4090 is for you, but the RTX 3090 and RX 6900 XT is still a good choice. If you don't want to pay 1600$ for a gpu, just wait for the RX 7000 series. On the other hand, those gpu releases will definitely affect the prices of GPU in lower tier models, so for us low- mid range gamers, this is the right time to buy a gpu.

I really feel sorry for the people that bought this card.... the EARLY ADOPTERS TAX is a btch sometimes. This is the main reason why people always say to wait a couple months.
      People who spend that kind of money on a card don't care much about the Price to performance ratios. Remember at launch the 3090 was nearly double the price of the 3080 while only offering 10% more performance. Then people tried to bill the 3090 as a Poor Man's workstation card. I can't really think of too many xx80, xx80ti, xx90, or Titan cards that were a good value in comparison to lower tier cards.

    AAA gaming on high refresh rate ultrawides is becoming a very real possibility
    Let's hope it gets more affordable and game devs don't start slacking off on their optimisation (especially you, Cyberpunk guys)
    About the Cyberpunk results, since DLSS 3.0 is out for it people with 165Hz 1440p monitors might actually surpass the refresh rate in this game (depending on your CPU tho)

The 4090 is more like the Ada version of the GTX 780.... compare that to the GTX 580 which had the big boy GF110 GPU from the previous Generation. Even on benchmark sites better globally renowned and proven to be accurate such as: *GPU USERBENCHMARK* clearly illustrate the 3080 is 12% faster minimally.
      I myself have a 3080 10 GB and when I post my pass Mark scores or any of my public benchmarks online the only people that come close to my scores are other 3080 owners and sometimes 6900xt owners.

    The DDR5 you are using, at 5600mhz. Idk if it's the issue... I'm running at Gear 1 at 4000mhz CL14-14-14-34 DDR4 memory. Your result may be better if you go all out at DDR5 7200mhz, you need to shorten the gap between timing and MHZ. 5600 just don't cut it.

      SLI died after the 20 the series. They saw that SLI ruined the performance of the 30s, and it took too much power. It wasn't very stable with the newfound power of the 30s so they never released it. It ended up actually dropping the FPS. But not saying you can't connect two 30s or 40s together. There are ways but, the system would draw most of its power from the first GPU. One would run at 90-99% while the other would run at 1-10% power. Also, if you ran two 40s you would need at least a 2k watt PSU. For 30s maybe a 1600 watt. Not worth it. At that point you are just building status not performance.

  • @YanBrassard
    @YanBrassard 10 месяцев назад

    So you can buy a 4090 for $2,500.00 CAD (in average as per a quick Amazon search) and the 3090 for $1,700.00 CAD. The question you should ask yourself before considering to buy a new graphics card is : is the 50 fps difference worth the price? On a game like Cyberpunk, there is definitely a plus value between 40 and 70 fps. But on most AAA games, the fps difference will not make a huge gameplay difference. You see the visual difference up until 60-70 fps but higher than that you won't see it. In conclusion, if you have the budget to afford a 3090 at $1,700.00 CAD, then you should maybe consider saving a few more hundred bucks to buy the 4090. It will probably take you 3-4 months of savings but it's definitely worth the price because although the fps difference between both cards will not be a game changer in most games in 2023, the 4090 will potentially have a higher lifespan. If you score 110-120 fps on most games today, you have a range to absorb fps drop in the next 2-3 years before you need to change your card if you want to continue playing on max settings in max resolution.

    I've compiled all the data available comparing the 3090 and 4090 using side-by-side with no ray tracing. The rasterization difference in performance is, the 4090 is averaging a 70% performance gain over the 3090.

      I got my 3090 last week for 700CAD, Im just surprised how hot it runs, it heats up my room by degrees after 1-2 hours of gaming. Even idle the power draw is more than my 3060 was under load!

    It is crasy card.
    But also senseless. It is powerfull but super expensive, and also, do we realy need 150 + fps for single player games?
    And how many people realy playing games 4K NOT in 60 Hz?
    RTX 3090 still the best variant. Also we must not support Nvidia with such prices. Gaming MUST NO be so expensive (actually all Nvidia prices for 4000 is SUPER HIGH).
    As for this generation RTX 3000 or AMD 6000-7000 series is the best for all 3-5 years.

      Because it has to handle 50% to 80% more FPS. Limit the game in both cases to the same amount of FPS, and you will have the same utilization as well as power draw.

    What's the difference between a £550 PS5 that's also capable of 4k at 60fps, or 120fps at 1440p?..without major changes in the settings being downgraded..Compared to the 30 series GPUs?
    Doesn't seem like a reasonable upgrade, especially when it costs several times more

    • @dhaumya23gango75

      Ps5 runs most triple A games at internal resolution of sub 1080p to achieve 60fps and sub 1440p to achieve 30 fps. Those 4k and 1440p marketing are completely misleading, they are all upscaled resolution. Do your research buddy. Maybe want to watch digital foundry tech reviews. Any 3000 series cards like the 3060ti or higher get better fps in games if ran at ps5 settings

      @@dhaumya23gango75 that's a load of shit.
      I've seen native 4k games at 60fps. For intense games. The res drops to about 1440p maintaining 60fps. The only time it's below 1440p is when it's 120fps. You can still lock 1440p but then 120fps dips slightly. Gran Turismo is an example.
