- Today's video really is ALL about your favourite rainbow boy Nero who came in last week for a bit of a pamper and brief training session. We hope you enjoy this relatively uncut video in which Holly gives an excellent explanation of some of the groundwork we do and why.

So great to see someone work gently with the animal, until it understands. No fear, just trust. Fantastic video ladies!
Nero was the first horse I was introduced to a short time back when I found your channel. He is certainly a handsome lad. Thank you for the narrative Tracey and Holly. It helps me learn more about horses. Enjoyed your video.
❤🐴😊👍
He's a lovely, intelligent lad... he's gorgeous like all your beasties 😂❤
He looks great !! He seems so much calmer than he did at the beginning❤ Nero looks happy !!
He is so pretty. I love the way he moves back. Front feet looks like a march❤❤❤
I just love him, first found your channel when he arrived. Makes my heart happy. Thank you for sharing your gift.
Nero is such a beautiful boy. He looks so much better than when we first met him. He's learned so much so quickly...He's listening and you're reinforcing behavior. He definitely doesn't looked distressed or in major pain. Seems to be a very happy boy.
Oh my life … he’s a stunningly handsome boy! Definitely a smart cookie like you said! He’s for sure responding to all the pampering he’s received, since his arrival. I must say his manners have improved slightly. He’s not so much in your face, like he used to be.
Tracey, I noticed he prefers you in his left eye vs. his right … as with a lot of horses. You can even notice he’ll try to put you in both eyes, if he can’t turn around and get you in his left eye. Naturally, we all know that will change in time the more you work with him … and thus, eventually him becoming a more balanced horse. I wonder if his right hock plays into it somehow … I would think he no doubt compensates, to a certain degree.
There’s no question about it, he’s for sure in discomfort. I don’t think it’s as bad as it was when he arrived … he definitely walked better after his first treatment, than he is now. So it does seem it’s wearing off some … but again, it’s still an improvement to what he was like.
I can’t recall but did the Vet discuss repeating the treatment a couple of times, in order to get a more accurate assessment of the treatment working or not? I think it was a foregone conclusion more than one treatment would be necessary to determine or yield any true results? It definitely would be worth another treatment to determine the efficacy.
Also, one has to remember like you mentioned, he’s running loose in a field … so who knows how he’s straining his hoc, whilst out ‘n bout, cavorting with the boyz. I still think him exercising and getting muscled up benefits him far more, than being stall bound. Plus the more training he has under to his belt, the more likely he’ll learn to become a balanced horse, in his movements.
I agree Holly … it’s best to have short training sessions and allow the horse to digest what’s being taught. And in each of the sessions to spend time asking for repetitive behaviours of one or two things vs. trying to teach him a whole bunch of new things all at once. After all, Rome wasn’t built in a day!
Happy Trails! 🙏🙌❤️🇨🇦🥕🍎🐴🍏🐎
Nero is so sweet and smart, remembering his previous lessons, and anticipating your every move. Thank you for explaining traditional lunging vs. a more controlled exercise experience. We love Nero. ❤❤❤
Er ist so freundlich und will mitarbeiten.Ein tolles Pferd.❤
Nero is a really handsome horse. He's got an impressive tail.❤😃
I usually don’t like beards on men but Nero wears it well. I enjoyed this video with you two sharing your knowledge and opinions about Nero. He seems like he’s really trying to learn.
Such a beautiful boy. He's come along so well. Sure hope the hock issue can continue to be dealt with so he isn't in such pain and discomfort. So glad he has you all to care for him. He's so worth it.❤🐎❤
He is so beautiful ❤❤❤❤
Oh my life!!! 🤯 What a huge difference...when he came he was barely manageable...now look at him...Tracey's Finishing School. Of course being out in the field with the Sanctuary Boys probably has contributed a bit to his better demeanor....quality food every day...the company of fellow horses...what ever little stories they share...and the hand of Oebe, the Master. 😉So nice to see he has progressed so quickly...standing much better at the tie ups...wants to please in the arena...little co-grooming on Tracey, which I thought was just dear.🤗 Thanks Hol for the great commentary (WOO HOO). Hopefully, there will be some good news when he visits Sam. Wonderful video.🥰
Beautiful boy 😍🫶

He’s looking wonderful
Aww kiss and hug him for me, beautiful boy!
Nero is just such a sweet , handsome boy … I found your channel when I saw his video arriving . Gosh , I just love him … I love all of them but he’s has my heart.
Have you ridden Nero yet ?
Or you wait until he’s 100 %
We will concentrate on groundwork to build muscle and strength and maybe one day he'd be able to do some gentle ridden work but only if we were confident he was comfortable enough with his hock
Good, informative video. It's baby steps with Nero but he is so much improved. All down to you girls. ❤😊
Bless him, he really tries. He is only 5 and the baby of the herd
Holly made me laugh about judging Tracey's gait 😄
I know nothing about horses, but you can see him favouring his rt leg.
Hello beautiful Nero ❤ love this video.
Becoming su ch a handsome boy
A super 'Its all about Nero' video, thanks.
What handsome boy Nero is ❤️
Nero is gorgeous and seems to be settling in nicely. I’m so glad you took him in and are giving him such great care and attention. I love the yawns!
She said in the previous video that he is only there temporarily…. Wish he could stay there for the rest of his life - wish he could just be in a pasture and not forced to train anymore - personally I wish humans would leave horses alone and stop forcing them to be ridden, trained, etc. anyway these people are heroes for rescuing him for sure!!!
ladies I would appreciate numbering of the video's! Now I have only the release moment as an indication where 'processes' are.... But I think there's more than 1 video per week so RUclips's '4 weeks ago' is too rough....
Thanks for the feedback- we’ll see how we can label them better 👍
I can see it now. I forget--you were hoping that the joint would fuse over time? And the steroid shot was to reduce his pain while that time passed? But I never understood how the joint was going to fuse if you reduced the inflammation. And maybe it's going to take many months and a few shots to give it enough time to fuse? Regardless, it was a well done video because I can see that the hock is beginning to hurt again but maybe the added condition is helping with the lameness some. :)
The joint would be fused by surgery possibly if it definitely became necessary.
Well, thanks Nero, now I'm starting to yawn here too 🥱
Nero is wonderful and I think he has made great progress.
Thanks for sharing this video 💙
