I am so glad to see this video and hear this interview.

I think the host tapped on something when she asked that question about possible motives for marriage. Then she nailed the correlation about age: Dottie started at 12 years old and Reba started singing with them at 12 years old.

Bottom line: they became rich, and he was unfaithful. She contemplated divorce twice, and after he cheated on her again in 1992, she finally filed for divorce.

She seems to be struggling through fog of narcotics probably begun from all her back problems, but wow can you imagine what they must have given her through the years?!!? It is a wonder she never overdosed considering her many surgeon mistakes and the resulting complications!

What an ignorant, stupid accusation! Shame on you.

@@geenahhaneeg3863 accusing the medical practice of over-treating back problems w narcotics? What do you think they treat such conditions with, especially through the 80s? It is a credit to her character and godly principles that kept her from falling to the COMMON occurance of destruction by opioids prescribed to deliver those suffering from the type of back pain Ms. Rita, suffered. Furthermore, I am only ashamed of the poor manners, amplified by limited knowledge exhibited among those such as yourself, assuming you are a Christian.

Yes, I agree. She was in a bit of a fog. But she had walked through the fire by this time of her life, and was still in the flames of pain. To be honest, it’s a miracle she could speak AND remember her life events during this interview.
She shared in other interviews how her doctors had her on so much pain meds that she could barely keep her eyes open. I think this is one of her best interviews. But the host takes that credit because she allowed her time to speak candidly about the trails she walked through. I truly enjoy this host, JoAnne. She seems more like a counselor with great prompts and a listening ear that even graciously steers Dottie back to a conversation once she started to drift from sharing her point.
