I take collecting serious with a splash of fun!!
Do you Like reproduction Barbie dolls? This video examines (15) dolls. Good and Bad. Plus dressing a clone doll. It's long, but I hope it's fun and educational. Thanks
Ring bell for my new uploads
I had not collected these very much because I wanted the real VINTAGE ones, but this video inspired me. Your videos are great!!!
I love your collection of reproduction Barbies
You are so nice!! Thanks so much
I learned some new things about reproduction barbies. I have a few of them in their box. Thank you Sue. Enjoy your videos.
Cool, thanks So glad you watched and learned some new things.💕
Hi Sue😍!!!!
Thanks for sharing!!!!...I definitively love your amazing Barbie's collection!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much for watching. Vintage Barbie is the coolest
I would like to have the reproductions dolls collection since your education showed me how they are really reflective of the real ones. My favorite is the one with the poodle. But then again, I like them all! Thank you so much for the video. Your collection is absolutely wonderful!!!!
#9 is my favorite. I wanted that outfit when I was a kid! I also had those rings that change(I had a Monkees one). Just loved this video. I am going to look for the Becky reproduction.
The Red head reproduction. Nice doll & outfit. You mean mood rings? Good luck with the Becky, she is so cute.
@@BarbieLove I have mood rings too. But I meant the ones where the picture changes like you showed in the video
@@DebsDollRoom 👍
TREASURE🤩
we even have a reproduction of ponytail Barbie costs about 100-150 dollars🥲
Gee, that sounds too high. But it is different in your area
I'm so looking forward for tax returns so I can finally buy an original American barbie, I have a reproduction I've been wanting the original. Beautiful collection
That is awesome! I usually get my most expensive dolls on Christmas. The rest of the year I thrift for them. Sell some and buy better or original ones. The Original American Girl is the best, especially the long hair ones. Good luck!! I know you will love her. The difference in the reproduction and Original is tremendous!!😲
I have the reproduction Barbie in pink and white bikini at Walmart for $20 a while ago
So cute 🥰
My favorite was the pony tail Barbie. I love the face on the early Barbies♥️
It is an Iconic face for sure. Thanks for letting me know your favorite.💕
Thanks again Sue! I enjoyed watching this video a second time. I got a Poodle Parade out of the box and I always thought she was missing the poodle but looking at yours in the box it looks like maybe she never had a poodle, right?? I have the #1 reproduction that came in the swimsuit. I made her a reproduction Gay Parisienne complete with fur stole and pearl necklace. I especially love the reproductions of the original Barbies first year.
I know Diane there was no poodle. Crazy huh!!? I gave another poodle from a different doll to put with mine. I wish I could sew. I found some old patterns for Barbie. Maybe I will give it an attempt. One fine day. LOL I found it strange that the Poodle Parade coat is shorter than the dress, but that is how it came. Can't wait to open my Bride doll. Gonna put that on a vintage doll though.💕
@@BarbieLove I took my repro bride out of the box. She’s on display in my hutch. I think she’s one of the prettiest ❤️
Hi Sue I am watching you on my phone so I can talk to you about. Barbies
Thank you so much!!!!!😍😍😍😍
I agree with you on my reproduction of Superstar Barbie i also have the reproduction 1959 bikini Barbie pink and white bikini both cost me $20 at Walmart a while ago years , i hace the original Superstar Barbie
I don’t know if I have seen that one?
Their outfits are so beautiful especially the gowns. Fun video.
I have the original Superstar Barbie in pink gown and blond Barbie and reproduction Superstar Barbie in pink short dress and boa
I have never had the reproduction 77 Superstar. I do like the short version of the pink dress.
I'm krysta justice on my hubby phone watching your RUclips channel
Oops, I forgot to name my favorite of your Mattel reproduction Barbies. They're all so beautiful. In choosing, I'm taking into account the doll and the outfit. OK, my choice among your Mattel repros is #7: the very first reproduction of the #1 Ponytail of 1959. A close 2nd is #9: the fabulous TNT repro. And I'm so happy, Sue, that you mentioned how HTF the Zokko ensemble can be in, at minimum, excellent condition.👍🏻
But my fave Mattel repro among my doll collection is the 2022 Barbie Signature Black Francie doll, which IMO looks identical to the 2nd edition of the Black Francie doll. To be fair, the one that I purchased from a collector and doll artist who straightened the doll's hard curl. He left her straight bangs alone. So my doll with straightened dark brown hair extending nearly to her waist, is identical to the 2nd edition of the Vintage Black Francie doll.
Great video Sue! All of the reproductions are lovely, for sure.
Out of the box, the blonde Bride is so beautiful in vintage outfits. We've done that. But, you have to replace the pony tail rubber band..right out of the box....they go rotten.....and by this date...all boxed ones have disintegrated rubberbands by now.
Also, you would think that after decades of green ear the "scientists" at Mattel would have fixed that by the 1990 when they started the repros....that was a big.. Duh????
And, my other repro issue... "they should have had a V8" with the face molds!!!
Come on Mattel, how hard would it have been to make the EXACT mold as the originals??? All they would have had to do is use old Barbie heads to make exact molds!!! Different body and head markings could distinguish the old from the new!!! Cuz....The repro heads have fuller faces...pretty but NOT repro!!! Right? They just may have done it on purpose in fear of ....I don't know of what.... something....
I've always said that the repro Francie doesn't look like Francie...she looks like Francie's sister!!!! Pretty doll but not Francie. Some are just more "repro" than others. Some successes and some just not quite "theres".....my 2 cents.
Mod Girl
Love your little clone Barbie and the outfit you put her in. I recently got a 90's era clone Barbie at the thrift store for $1.00. I haven't cleaned her up and dressed her yet. You have inspired me to get her out and do that today. Its a rainy day here so what a fun thing to do!
That is awesome! It is fun getting them all pretty. I love doing it.
Really enjoyed this video, Sue. I loved seeing your repros and hearing your thoughts on them.
Thank you Sue for tagging me to catch this video. It was very informative 😊
Love this episode so much! I have three reproduction Barbies. The Silken Flame is my favorite. I hope to find a reproduction Midge at the Atlanta doll show May 20th. Its a 3 1/2 hour drive for us but my daughter and I plan to spend Friday night. Any chance you will go?
Thanks for telling me about it. I will see if I can make it. I didn't know about the show. Midge is another pretty reproduction. I think she is prettier than the original. I used to have a mint one but sold it. Good Luck in May!!
Mattel solds it for $40
Which one?
I love how you dressed all the dolls. I believe Midge is the newest repro.?
I think the newest is one I don't have, which is the black Francie came out in 2022,
I just heard of a new Midge. I didn’t know about. So I guess you are correct 👍
They really are beautiful. I am happy They came out with the reproductions so that we can have them.
Yes, some vintage are just hard to afford.
Ihello...I agree I bought the poodle parade repro just for the outfit. The quality is really good. Also I really like the malibu Olympics repro because I can never find a nice malibu
Yes the poodle parade is great. Malibus have really come down on EBay lately.unless it is mint with all accessories.
Hi Sue! I love watching your videos!! What makes a doll a reproduction? Made by Mattel, in China? I found a Barbie w eyelashes today!!! I almost squealed in the thrift store, paid $3..
A reproduction is a doll made by Mattel that looks like a doll made during a certain time era. Like a 1960’s doll was made in 1960’s but in 1990’s Mattel made a doll that look like one they had made years earlier. It is a look alike of an older first made doll. There is also 77 reproductions and some 80’s reproductions. Like Praches and cream Barbie and Barbie and the Rockers. Congrats on your doll. Wish I could have seen you find that doll. Very exciting!!!
Hi Sue, I always enjoy watching your videos. I have collected many reproduction Barbie dolls over the years. I love them all but my favorites are the TNT dolls and the 1959 Wedding Day gift set. You have a great collection !
Thank you so much! So glad you enjoy my videos. I really appreciate you watching!💕
I love all th reproduce because I can’t afford originals! I really love the Francies because I didn’t:’t have one as a child.
Have you checked EBay lately? Some of the unboxed repros are as expensive as played with original. Especially on Malibus, and bubble cuts.
I'm not a fan of the Francie reproduction either. Something about her is off? The hair they used is also not the best. It's so staticky and bulky looking. I only got it for the outfits too.
Yes!!! That is it!! The hair is too bulky. You hit the nail on the head with that. I only buy reproductions if I can't afford an original or they are just too cheap to turn down. LOL Thanks for that stroke of brilliance!! I couldn't put my finger on it. LOL
I love this doll I think it's the 1967 barbie. I enjoy your videos .
These were mostly reproductions, but I may have show some originals . Which one did you like?
Yeah Im not a fan of the reproduction Francie either. She just doesnt look like Francie to me🤷❤
Not the best reproduction for sure!
Love rewatching all your videos, would love a boxed doll update. ❤
Sure, but not sure exactly what you mean.
Wow! I absolutely love your collection
Thanks
Hi Sue, I love the repro dolls, obviously would love the originals but the repros are just great! 🥰🥰
They are! But for me they fill an empty spot I can't fill with an original.
Yes exactly 🥰
I love your videos, you're so funny !!
Thank you, glad you enjoy them
I have been Binge watciing your channel for 2 weeks. how would you Clean the silvery dresses? I have several dawn outfits That I do not know How to clean.
Well first, thanks for watching my videos. I only have a hand full of Dawn dolls. So I don’t know which outfit your are talking about. But silvery ones that Barbie has I do have. Some outfits will lose that silver. It’s risky to clean them. Do you know the name of the outfit?
I love the Registered Nurse reproduction doll! =)
YES, Mattel did a great job on that one.💕
What year is the #7 reproduction doll of the vintage 1959 doll? @@BarbieLove
I think it was 1993.
Hi sue got new videos
Great!
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thanks Tanya
Sue, thank you soooo much for this video. It took me quite a number of years to "get" the various reasons why a collector of vintage Barbie dolls also may collect Mattel's reproduction dolls. While, for now, I collect only a few repros, I likely will collect others more so for the pristine clothes than for the dolls.❤
Wonderful! That is why I get them. It's not too hard to get a regular Bubblecut Barbie, but get the Wildbunch outfit complete and pristine. Very difficult. Thanks for watching.💕
@Sue's Barbie Love You betcha! I continue to learn a "wild bunch" from you, Sue. And that new knowledge and confidence has helped me in how I hunt for dolls and how to negotiate.
