Catcher by far is the hardest
Catcher. Physically the most difficult position especially over a long season. Mentally you’ve got to call the game which means knowing the scouting reports, defensive positioning, pitcher’s tendencies, then constantly making adjustments on all of these things as the game goes on because the game is played by humans on a natural surface so the pitcher’s stuff can change inning by inning, you can catch the hitters potentially cheating on fastballs and need to pivot to off speed, the field can degrade between innings altering what pitches you’re calling, then there are defensive subs who might change what you call and you’ve got to be mindful of, the baserunning game and throw runners out, call pitch outs etc. , you’ve got to keep your pitcher on track and to an extent monitor their mechanics manage the umpire and their zone, plus frame pitches, guess what? Relief pitcher comes in? You’ve got to know his pitch mix and how that plays off the hitters scouting report and then make adjustments based on what they’re throwing and ohh btw in between the defensive innings you have to try and hit baseballs at 100 mph with movement which means you’ve got to also know the opposing battery’s tendencies and how they’re pitching you. It’s just a truly insane position that never gets credit for what it is. The fact some guys can be great catchers and hit .300 with power is just mind boggling I’d say in 10-15 years they’ll add a second DH for catchers.
Now if you think I’m reading all this you must be crazy😂

“in baseball”
Whatttt
Bro what the actual fuck
Bro seriously said first base
Lol I was thinking “dude any defensive position Jason Giambi played cannot be that hard”.
“It’s not that hard Scott”
@@8thWunduh HE GETS ON BASE
The last guy had it right, backup catcher. That's why Higgy is one of my all time goat Yankees.
Outfield is pretty hard too. Millions of people are watching you. And if you drop a fly ball in a playoff game, people will hate you. It’s gotta be the most pressurized position
catcher for physically enduring and short stop gor athletic ability.
My daughter plays short stop/second base softball. She is a athlete for sure.
I agree that is one of the members of the battery, but I’m surprised 3rd didn’t get a vote. The hot corner is tough. The ball comes fast and you need a cannon.
Catcher for sure, I’ll put pitcher at 2nd tho
As a pitcher I can confirm people say catcher but the pitcher has to make sure they do exactly what the catcher says and it's always ur fault
Catcher most definitely the catcher
that reasoning for first base sucks because catcher does that every play
Yeah first base is so easy they literally give you a glove that’s almost impossible to drop baseballs in
Even if catcher was more physically difficult which it probably is the difference between mental difficulty is larger in favor of pitcher than physical would be in favor of catcher. If that makes sense. Overall Pitcher is hardest, but id say just physically catcher is hardest.
Pitcher for obvs reason but besides them, catcher and short stop the hardest
People who said catcher really know how it is because it takes a lot of psychical work and mental work. U have to know ur pitcher’s pitches, plays, where to to tell your teammates where to throw the ball ,let alone the other team’s batters and how they run, then the count of pitches
I agree I’m a catcher and In a long inning it hurts your legs really bad at the end
Catcher is by far the toughest position. Those guys squat catch protect the plate and are essentially the point guard or game manager in game.
Every single game.
Pitcher. They literally do most of the work on defense
You high pitcher doesn’t do shi besides pitch
@rk_09_kr24 If the pitcher is good enough then the rest of the defensive positions don't have to do anything. Except the catcher of course
I’ve never played Baseball(Mostly bc I have A.D.D and can’t concentrate to see a ball coming at me at 99mph bt more bc I’m genuinely scared to get hit by a ball coming at me at 99mph) but most of the ppl I talked to who have played baseball say the hardest position is either 3rd or 1st I watch baseball all the time and every October I think the hardest position is the Pitcher by far not only is the game in your hands bt u screw up your getting pulled in a heartbeat and just the thought of tht would be embarrassing
Catcher and it’s not even close
What was that person who said first base on probably an alcoholic is my guess
im a pitcher and it is hard as hell!
Third base it’s the hot corner
first base is goofy asf
Position players come in to pitch, but never catch. If that tells you anything about the difficulty level.
The catcher has a lot of responsibilities and it's physically demanding, but how often do they change the catcher mid game? The pitcher has the most pressure and wear and tear is real.
Have you ever seen the hands of a retired veteran MLB catcher or how they walk? Those guy’s bodies are wrecked after a 10+ year career.
Third base
Catcher by far
I play catcher, catchers the hardest
Catcher
Shout out Garrett Stubbs
It’s objective. Seeing nothing for 5 2/3rd then reading a 100mph line drive off the bat is one of the hardest things to do in my eyes 🤷🏻♂️ I’ll catch. You take center
Nobody mentioning the fact the catcher has to call the game..
Catcher 💯
CATCHER BY FAR
Got be catcher
Catcher, not even a conversation
Catcher !!!!
a pitcher
👇🏻
(Yes, i liked my own comment bc no one wants to, and i am a pitcher)
