The watchers were supposed to nurture the fruit of the garden ( the tree of life ). Instead they pillaged from it. Notice the depiction of the tree which shows the pine cone ( pineal gland ) on its branches? The same fruit ( pine cone ) held in the hand of the birdman. And if your a gatherer, a bag would be the best place to put your pickings. The hand of the birdman looks like the lateral ventricles of the brain holding the pineal gland. If you look at the lateral ventricles from the top down/Birdseye view it looks like a set of wings. That’s if you look at the depiction of the brain from a side view/profile perspective. The reason for the bird meme is that it’s the representation of the last chakra aka the crown chakra to be initiated before enlightenment/full consciousness. Or the breakthrough into the spirit world is where the secret knowledge gets passed to and through. Imagine if that were removed from the brain. No more dmt, the lifeline is snatched up and your stuck. There’s been an attack on this particular area of the brain/consciousness ie. the soul for a very long time. Calcification now, pillaged then. I believe that is the true reason for the “ surgical “ holes found in skulls from ancient Egyptian. This what I have come up with and it’s an opinion.

The "pine cone" could also be a reference to the third eye. The pineal gland which is a pea-sized gland shape like a pine cone. It's located near the hypothalamus and pituitary gland. It's considered in many cultures as an organ for supreme universal connection.
If science get off their duff and really study this gland and life after death experience might be shocked at their findings.

I rememeber before learning how to walk i could understand what peoiple were saying FAR deeper then when i learned language. I have deep childhood memories and my first memory (odd dream for an infant) was being with many others, either departing or returning from a giant sticky mass of them (us) altogether (source, heaven, soulpool) instantly i knew i must be one of these indivituated things and this intense almost selfishly protective love exactly like a caring parent knowing their child is/will suffer. The pine cone represents many things including but not limited to the pineal gland. Arguing as if your one insight is the only right one is tye war mentality they want.
My take, the handbag is an unknown power source. It is seen in conjunction with the pine cone looking thing and being held while piloting some craft. The pine cone thing is a transmitter and can be used to transmit a number different frequencies. These frequencies were used to move and even levitate heavy objects. This would explain how they were able to move such megalithic stones and materials. I also believe that given the right frequency they could change the molecular structure of the stones used in building these structures, enabling them to shape each individual piece to fit it together like a puzzle. Once they had the stones shaped and in place, they could recalibrate the frequency to reset the materials to their original molecular structures.

Yes, you're very close...The bag contains a power source and the 'beings' are Inter-dimensionals. They couldn't stay too long in our dimension without the power source. The 'wristwatches' were also used as translators around the world for different languages and for communication! Machinery supplied by them was also used to laser cut stone and build structures (Pyramids, Obelisks etc) and the temple of Kailash which was built from the top down using a form of template (similar to the patterns in crop circles). There are NO extra-terrestrials in our dimension in our universe. All 'Gods from the sky' used portals to travel from their dimension to ours. The pinecone is a hypocycloid, like magnetism uses, and they represent the Earth's magnetic fields as well as magnetic fields in general.

I've always been interested in what the "handbag" is and why it is shown in so many different cultures on multiple Continents who supposedly had no interaction/knowledge of one another.

In the bible, Moses crushed the golden idol of a calve the Isrealites had made. I have noticed that the design of the wrist device (watch) changes based on the object the person is carrying. When it's the pine, the watch has 9 'petals?' I was taught it was not a handbag but the standard weight used for trading. Usually in possession of the "The Ruler" given to them by god. Looking at the relief on the pillar you featured in Gobekli Tepe, I noticed that where the Handbags are located in relation to the star-map is over the area where Taurus & Gemini are, both of which are related to the use of tools - with the former they're related to craftsmen tools & creativity, & in the latter it's more symbolic tools - especially language & communication.
When I first saw the pinecone symbol it was on the top of Dionysus's staff, as his symbol, and I'd assumed that it was a symbol of ecstasy, which he was the deity of. The pinecone releases its seeds all around, and unlike fruit, the seeds aren't buried in the center - they eject outward in a radiant Solar fashion. It's easy to see how the "release of seed" could be seen as related to ecstasy, in what at the time would have been seen as the masculine form. It also resembles the glans, in a phallic sense. I figured that in Assyrian reliefs when the figures pointed pinecones it was a fond greeting of sorts - projecting, or wishing pleasure upon each other, & possibly fertility.
The headwear worn by the 2 outer figures on the relief with the Tree of Life, & also on the Lamassu sculptures always looked very phallic to me as well, with what you refered to as 'horns' as being wrinkles in the foreskin. If that feature seems like it would have been too minor a detail to include, keep in mind that it became an 'issue' of sorts in the Middle East with the eventual practice of circumcision.
A lot of pre-Christian symbolism was more overt about these phallic power symbols than we are accustomed to, & I also think the Gobekli Tepe pillars appear phallic as well.

Wonderful! Although I believe the handbag is more the “keeper” of the knowledge. The pinecone is the knowledge, the enlightenment, but it passes through and you need the handbag to hold the knowledge to use the knowledge. Just like modern day purses, they hold money. Money (currency or current) like knowledge flows, so you need something to hold on to the moving flowing currency or in this case, knowledge. You could also liken it to water flowing. I see what your saying. I just look at it as seeing past duality and the illusion. Our consciousness resides in the Matrices of duality until the illusion is transcended. Coming out of judgement of duality into wholeness and balance. Do you think Enki has silver clothing or skin? There are other ways to depict color. More coralating evidence would have to be compared before drawing that conclusion, but interesting theory.

I have for a number of years suspected it had to do with the keepers of knowledge. I thought of the hand bags as that. I like your interpretation being the pinecone (pineal third eye) as the knowledge and the bags as the toolkit. I'm glad I was on the right track. I noticed 4 different 'watch' faces worn by the Annunaki. I have heard a simpler analogy. Because the date trees, the trees of life in a desert environment, must be pollinated by hand in order to produce abundant fruit, the pine cone was dipped into collected pollen and applied to each flower (certainly the depiction in the Sumerian glyphs). In order for the pollen to penetrate the flowers, the hand bag was filled with water that was applied after the pollen.
