I wish I had known about the United silver + Marriott titanium combo earlier. Had I known earlier I would not have wasted a 5/24 slot on one of the chase freedom cards 🙃
So. I am a 1k Flyer and get the normal benefits from that. I have 1 million and a half miles with Untied. I still struggle to get upgrades. With the Infinite card will that help?
So yes and no. From my knowledge it may help with award booking upgrades but I believe that mostly relies on your status. As far as cash bookings go, your status will have the most impact on it; the card, not really. In a way the card does help because it can earn PQPs, 25 for every $500 spent, as well as it gives you premier access. But if you have Premier 1k you already would already have premier access and so the card won't help you much in the upgrades area. I believe that upgrades are more or less affected by the routes taken and the popularity on them; including how many other Premier 1Ks and Global Services are on that flight. You could try using PlusPoints; but I believe that is hit or miss as well. tl;dr - no the card won't help with upgrades in your case since you have 1K.
