I started watching your videos because I actually loved your natural normal look ❤I stayed because you are very knowledgeable and I love the down to earth Christian topics . If we just read our Bibles and applied what we read there would definitely be less judgement on how we should be
Beautifully stated! I do not wear makeup at home, and my hair is usually in a bun so the goats can’t chew on it. I spend most mornings in overalls, going from dairy goats to chickens to garden. My arms are strong enough to throw 50# feed bags over the gate, and my hands are gentle enough to deliver stuck kids. I also came from a line of strong women who survived all that life threw at them. I can put on a dress and makeup, but not everyone can take care of themselves in a way that allows them to serve the Lord by providing for others.
I was raised Pentecostal Holiness. I cried through this whole video. We are supposed to be set apart from this world and homemaking does this for me. ❤ Very well said ❤
I am so looking forward to this! I am a stay at home mom and second generation homeschooler. My mom and I talk about this all the time right now. I am becoming very concerned about what I am seeing. It feels like just another viral trend with new age influences that is actually distracting us from what really matters!
I am SO excited for this video!!! I really feel like “biblical womanhood” has been turned into something it is just not, and there is this cookie cutter version of what some woman are heavily portraying as biblical womanhood. I really can’t wait to hear your thoughts!!
Thank you for this video! I found your channel in the perfect moment. I currently work full-time and I’m providing for my family right now since my husband is training for the police academy. He has limited time to work and works part- time. Lately, I have felt that by working outside them home, I’m not worthy to be a homemaker after work. At the moment, I’m the only one providing for my family and seeing on social media other influencers that state that its not right to dress a specific way or do things because it says it in the bible. I agree that we are forgeting about the common sense and some influencers are creating more confusion around the bible and how we should live our lives.
I love how you challenge these topics in my mind. So good for me. I have also learned these past 2 years. That literally anything can become a religion or an idol if you chase after that more than you chase after Jesus. Even if it is with good intentions. Jesus brings the unique balance in me. I have found that He brings out the girly in me, but He also strengthens me to be tough for this life too. This was great. Thank you. I am going to share this with my 2 teenage daughters. ☺️
WOW! You have no idea how timely this is for me. I’ve been so spiritually distracted by this trend. Thank you so much for your willingness to be vulnerable in sharing your experiences and speaking truth!
I'm so glad it helped you, yes, I have seen how this trend is distracting many young women and that is part of why I wanted to share this. We need to keep our eyes on the Lord!
Wow, you hit the nail on the head with this one. I deeply admire your love for the lord and the example you are for other women. I feel like God will bless you deeply as you continue to minister through this platform and in your daily life. I am humbled that you showed so much vulnerability about your life. You have every right to be angry and upset and bitter, but God's glory shines bright. I'm not even sure how to express my gratitude for you.
Probably my favorite video I have watched yet; I have been following for almost 1 year now. Thank you for your practical insight and openness in sharing your personal story, I found it inspiring! Praise God for His work in your heart and life despite all of the challenges!
Thank you for sharing your story! I grew up the daughter of pastor parents. I was the odd duck out and very tomboyish. I’ve worked hard growing up because I wanted to be one of the guys; they always seemed to have more fun than girls. I want to teach my daughters how God’s Design for Women is Beautiful & Enriching so they can find fulfillment in their lives and relationships with others. I’m a first generation home maker, homesteader, and homeschooler. Grew up in the public system, but moved around too much. I long for deep roots and I Praise God for His Provisions to have the opportunity to finally begin laying them down, especially for my children. I thank Him each week for your videos. I found you because I saw your video on the trad wife and was both Blessed by your Wisdom & Knowledge, as well as encouraged because all of this is new for me. I married a plumber/farmer, but the kind of homestead we’re looking to set up isn’t what he grew up doing, so we’re both learning as we go. It’s an adventure I wouldn’t trade for anything and I’m so glad you’re here to be a resource and a place where I can be replenished in the areas only a home maker, homesteader, homeschooling mom can. Thank you for your ministry! May God continue to Richly Bless you and your family each and every day! Your glory crown is going to be dazzling! I look forward to seeing how much and how often God has used you for His Glory!!
I'm so grateful for this video - I cried as you shared your past, the heavyness of it could be felt - I'm thankful God has created a warrior in you to show what that looks like to others!! I couldn't agree with you more about femininity!! We as the church are to show love AND NOT division - let us be in the Bible more and in the business of others less ❤️ I sent this video to SO many people - let us have the mind of Christ and show His mercy and grace to others!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I have always struggled with feeling like I’m not “feminine enough” because I’m not very appearance driven. It’s actually been bothering me lately. I really needed to hear this. Thank you for being honest and going against the grain to share the truth! ❤️
I started watching your videos recently because I was trying to find out what a trad wife was. I so appreciate the common sense approach that you have, both with life and Scripture. Thank you for answering this person's question.
I was so surprised....when you said you didn't think at first you were feminine. I have always thought you seemed feminine! Not because of the dresses but because of who you are! Pioneer women women worked hard but were still ladies in spirit, where it counts. I don't think any reader of little house on the prairie books thought Caroline Ingalls wasn't a lady 😊! I LOVE your deep thinking and balance here and totally agree! Also glad with how amazing your life has turned out to be! ❤
I absolutely LOVED this!!! You are absolutely 💯 correct and I too am a warrior princess 👑 ⚔️ thank you so much! YES 🙌🏼 you articulated this perfectly and beautifully!
Praise the Lord sister !❤ this is the most sound and scriptural teaching on femininity that I have ever heard . I relate to your story so much and you know what , I am going to rewatch your video and write down notes , highlight the scriptures and apply! There is so much godly freedom in it ! Thank you ❤ Olga
The LORD sees me as his warrior princess! I love this 🩵 Raising children who will be warriors also. Oh, I loved this so much! I will be sharing this and giving you all the credits. God bless you.
Shayla this video is such a jewel, like you. Thank you for bravely & humbly sharing part of your story. Your story, the tools & revelations you shared will help so many coming up the mountain behind you, making their journey a little easier.
I loved this video. I found your channel a while back. The first video I saw of yours was about homemaking in hard times & poverty. That was a great video too. Thank you for being real, its in short supply these days. I really like how you explain in detail how & why you do the things you do. I love when you talk about the Lord and His word & I could listen to your stories for hours. You give great, encouraging, practical and useful advice. You are one of a kind and unlike so many RUclipsrs, you're not just regurgitating the same dribble as everyone else. (Sorry for the graphic example, but its true. Not many people have their own thoughts any more.) Anyway, thank you for what you're doing, you're a great example & i look forward to more great content. may God bless you & your family, much love, Mandy from socal❤ ps grunge was my favorite style growing up too....I miss the 90s
Thank you so much for your kind words! You're a gem, Mandy! I'm glad you find my content valuable and I really enjoyed reading this comment, the last part made me giggle!
Thank you so much for sharing more of your story. ❤ I love listening to it and seeing where you’ve come and all the while hearing you weave in the the word as you do is beautiful. Thank you 🙏🏻
Totally agree with this. Raised with 2 older brothers and all male cousins and a mom who never dressed me girlie. But God DOES prepare us for future callings. Tomboy or girlie! Thank you for taking a stand in saying all this! It was very good!
Thank you so much for this perspective, I feel like you really are getting it right❤ most people don‘t look at the Bible with context, like you said, which makes such a difference. It‘s beautiful to see how you can use your life experience now to serve others and ultimately, the lord ❤
Appreciated the summary at the end. I clicked onto this as I am someone who is new to faith but deeply believe women (of faith or not) need to reclaim that feminine grace and definitely dressing modestly (although I agree, an open tractor doesn’t seem like a great place to wear a dress). Common sense is key- and before worrying about dresses or my hair etc, I start the day by serving my family, saying thank you to God and slowly becoming a more biblical woman
Very well said, and the part about not feeling treasured, but then realizing it was preparation was especially touching and encouraging. Thank you for sharing!❤
I feel like we’re kindred spirits. As I child, I often felt uncomfortable being myself. What it was, was me comparing myself to my very girly sister. Her and I are alike in so many ways, but I feel like I’ve always been kinda tough. Now that I’m a woman, God has shown me that that quality is ok, because that’s how He made me. As I’m writing this, I’m thinking of all the times that I’ve needed that toughness, and how thankful I am that I have that quality. It doesn’t make me less of a woman, or even less feminine. I am a daughter of the King, and His ways are perfect. 💛
I love how you said "It doesn't make me less of a woman or less feminine." I agree and feel like there are more ways to be feminine then what is trending right now.
BINGO!!! You nailed it sweetheart. At, 71, I wear both pants and dresses. I don’t feel like a man wearing pants, and I’m glad I’m a woman and can wear dresses, but God doesn’t look at my clothes if I wear them right. He looks at my heart. These so called trends lead us into pitfalls. Focus on Jesus. Blessings ❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️
❤ I had tears in my eyes. Thank you for for sharing this. I love watching your videos they are always so inspiring and full of wisdom. God bless you and your family.
Thank you for this, Shayla! I love me some dresses, but I'm not going to doll myself up with two little boys still in diapers in the house. This "biblical womanhood" movement is more of an "American conservative womanhood" movement, and while these two things can sometimes overlap, they don't always. (And I still know plenty of American conservative women who don't wear dresses and makeup.) Both Christian and non-Christian red pillers with a superficial understanding of these passages attempt to pass this off as Holy Scripture. Like you said, I understand the reason behind it. But the answer to blurred gender lines in our culture is not another instance of Matthew 23:4. Lastly, thank you for sharing your story! You not only reminded me to always consider another's upbringing and life circumstances, but to consider my own, if that makes sense. One of my sons has a rare genetic disease that makes the American conservative feminine ideal near impossible for me.
Amen 🙏🏽 I agree with you very much. I love gardening and nature. I have received a lot of bad mouths about it. My late dad would pick any available child to help him with whatever he was doing be it gardening, holding a spanner or holding the ladder while he fixed the roof. Having red nail polish 💅🏽 is also not my style 😮. Amen to your video. We are women with a purpose. 👏🙌🙏🏽👍
Thank you so much for sharing from your heart. I see you as such a feminine person but I think it's because I define it in my mind as someone who loves and serves their family rather than the way you dress. If you haven't read little women series you absolutely should! You remind me of Jo March! I can totally relate to your experience stepping into the woods. When my husband and I bought our first house the back yard was like a forest, and I stepped out into it one day and broke down crying as I realised how much the Lord must love me. There's a garth brooks song with lyrics "her favourite dress is her faded blue jeans", and that song is 99% to blame for my love of jeans! I've only started wearing dresses this year since it's easier to find 100% cotton dresses than shirts or jeans without elastain! 😅
I loved this, Rachel! Thank you for telling me all this. I've read Little Women, and I do recall Jo! I loved reading what you wrote about stepping into the back yard. I completely understand.
Wow, I thought I was the only girl out there , who thought this way and deeply felt this way. I was raised in the Marine Corps on camp Pendleton. So yes I learned all those skills too, by the time I was 5 I could mix drinks shoot a gun and take care of everyone and and the house. Children were seen and not heard, what happens in the family stays in the family, you don't go and tell anyone anything... It sounds like we were raised the same way , just different locations. My Dad would put me in a dress when I got into trouble defending my brother, ( he was very sick as a youngin) so yes I definitely wanted to put on a dress and be a girl, but I was not afforded that privilege. Anyways I am grateful I had the knowledge I needed to survive through the absolute worst time in my life, ( Jesus carried me through it) I am still here. The more I watch your videos the more I like you. Thank you. I have a hard time trusting people and therefore I have 2 or 3 friends and I lean on my husband for everything else. I'm not complaining just comparing our similarities. Luv Karyann
Thank you so much for taking the time to share some of your story, I enjoyed reading this! BTW, I've read that the trusting part and only having a small number of friends is a sign of a strong woman who knows her worth, 🥰!
Thank you for this Shayla! My husband and I, live in the woods, and I couldn’t agree with you more! We are also Christians, and we work on our property,… I usually wear coveralls, and work boots!… especially when feeding chickens!… you did a wonderful job explaining this, well done, and much appreciated!..🙏🤗❤️💕
Wow, this video is so powerful. Your storytelling ability and vulnerability are beautiful. I love that you take everything back to the Bible and biblical principles. You are a Warrior Princess, Daughter of Christ! Keep preaching truth, friend.❤
Thank you for sharing this! I’ve been in so many Christian women circles that believe a reflection of our relationship with God is being feminine and speaking softly. You said it perfectly, “femininity is not our goal, but Godliness”. This trend can be so distracting to the actual work God has set before us as women. Thank you for the encouragement!!
Amen amen amen!!! A warrior princess!!! I love it. Made me cry. I remember my boyfriend’s mother in my senior year of high school, telling me to be more feminine & that I needed to wear makeup & do my hair. I would just laugh. Those kind of things don’t matter. A beautiful heart in the sight of God is what matters & I knew my Daddy(God) from a very young age. Thank you for this video !!! Beautiful words!!❤❤❤❤
“The word feminity isn’t in the Bible, you can look” I have never actually thought about this. I was such a Tom boy growing up. I loved dresses but would play football with the guys while wearing one. lol. As an adult I love wearing dresses. Not only do I find them more comfortable, but my body shape hates pants bc my waist is so much smaller than my hips. And I’ve never been one to not speak up when needed and I’m definitely not a super quiet woman. I’ve always spoken the truth, but I’ve been working on being a proverbs 31 women for years. But it’s in black and white that she works hard, provides for her family and even bought land. So she didn’t sit still nor was she sitting back waiting for things to come to her the easy way. I totally agree with you that people take the Bible and make rules and paths to follow based on how they have translated things and decided what is best. This video was so spot on. Thank you for putting it together. By far I feel like it’s one of the best videos full of incredible information that you’ve done so far. I love this shift you’ve made in your videos. I’m glad you decided to push through with them instead of finding work outside of the home.
Warrior Princess! Yes, this is you. I love your channel even more. Thank you for allowing us into the difficult to share areas of your life. May the Lord use your humility to help another woman find His truth in her life too. Love you so much!
This was an incredible video. My husband and I live in the Netherlands. If we both don't work, we simply cannot survive. My salary covers the roof over our head and our electricity bill. That's it. We also cannot move anywhere else, because there simply is nowhere to go... no other housing at all(literally). For the next 4 years, we have no choice to remain here and then we'll move to South Africa to start new once we've finished our degrees. I am south african, a Boer woman to be exact, and up until 2 years ago I was crawling around the bush with the men during farm watches when farms were attacked. We do what we must. My ancestors walked barefoot across mountain ranges and fought alongside their men, loading their weapons. This notion that women never worked and did everything alone is such a foreign concept historically speaking, that it shows how out of touch we are to want to move to that paradigm now. We want a big family, and whether or not God will allow this or not is in His hands as I am 31, but I also want my husband to be able to enjoy that family WITH me. We will both be working, hopefully BOTH working part time. I want to be and have a partner, not a "provider". There is too much pressure on either side for any balance to exist at this point.
I am a feminine woman. I enjoy dressing up and makeup and all the girly things. And my daughters are starting to discover they woman that God made each of them to be. I think that God knows how we each thrive as women and femininity is broad in his eyes and if you were created a woman don't shy away from that blessing. You just have to display it your way , and by doing that you will please our creator.
I was raised hard too, but your story is so good inspirational! You have ad to face more than I have. Not that my life has been any kind of fairytale, but your story has really helped me to look at life in a different way. Thank you so much for sharing. It has really blessed me.
You’re an amazing woman and a huge inspiration! I have also struggled in my childhood with femininity for various reasons. I believe everything in our lives happens for a reason. Just know that you are a beautiful and strong woman. ❤
Thank you so much for your insight, your experience and your kindness. I'm not sure where i belong on the believing scale of things. But you really hit a spot when saying that some women get lost today because of all the femininity videos out there. I have been feeling lost for a time, finding my way being a mom (I live in the Netherlands, so it's a bit different here from where you are haha), but your videos are amazing. You've been a voice of reason and inspiration to me, and probably to so many others, so again: thank you 😊 All best, Cindy
While our stories and backgrounds are different, I can tell that you and I are very similar in so many ways. And since I admire you so, this is a happy thing for me. I so appreciate what you share and how you share it. We're about the same age and would know each other's pop culture references 😂! You are such a blessing and I'm thankful that God crossed your path over mine when I was feeling very alone and different in my journey as a wife and mother. I've been married the longest in my friend group and have the most children. I love my friends but we're no longer the same as we used to be in high school. It's a blessing and I see God's hand in it all! ❤
Great video! I do love to wear dresses and skirts but like you, I also wear jeans and overalls as needed. I love to be versatile and I taught my daughter that, as well. You’re right about the new femininity trend. It can certainly become a new religion and folks can get legalistic about it. Funny how humans do that. You’re right about reading and staying in God’s Word. So important mostly since we are so distracted by all that life is distracting us to nowadays. Before we know it we are sucked into something that may be good but at the end of the day it’s actually distracting us from God’s Best!
Thank you for this encouragement! So true that God gives each of us what we need to prepare us for that to which He calls us. My upbringing was one of blessing and opportunities, and that has brought its own challenges as I've needed to grow a lot in ways that may have been more natural to you! So thankful for His personal loving care for His daughters!
Great topic today friend!!! I've always observed you to be very feminine. Feminine because you are highly intuitive to watch over your home well! Feminine is not slender, delicate and in ruffles and puffed sleeves (although those trending dresses are adorable). Feminine is more about knowing how women are strong in different ways...not being ashamed or inferior about it...or even resentful that a husband doesn't have the same intuitive strength always. I'm not going to prattle on cause you said it all so good already. You're the P-31 women who girds up her loins and does hard and messy things when it is required. And awesome that your Dad's taught you some handy skills as well as your mom...so blessed to have so many skills!!!
What an amazing testimony. God has indeed had His hand on you your entire life. How wonderful. He is using you in such a mighty way Shayla. Ty for sharing this. Ty for being useable. God definitely has a plan for us all. Some just don't recognize it. This blessed me more than you will ever know. I thank you.
So well said! Loved your response on being godly not feminin. I did observed the trend on instagram specially in the country where I am from and it is true: look at how many children the women has and how much her husband works so she can be feminin....Thank you for taking the time and bringing some sanity in this trend! Be blessed!
Amen, Sister. I grew up hard like you. When I got married, I had such high hopes of grander things. The LORD shattered those hopes very quickly. He wanted me to depend on Him, not my husband. I used to love wearing skirts and dresses and couldn't wait to leave home so that I could wear them often. The LORD directed my husband to city living, which I don't like, but I'm content with because I know it's His plan. Being in the city has shown me that looking the perfect put-together woman is not really important, and in some ways mammon, if I'm not careful. Our church used to be so uptight about women needing to wear skirts and dresses. Of course, it's different now as times have changed, but it took the joy of wearing skirts away from me because it seemed an obligation. I currently work in a large Christian school and meet Christians of all kinds. wh😮at alarms me is how little suffering and hardness most are willing to bear, oh such whinning and complaining. I think when the the end comes, we'll find those who had the princess lifestyle also didn't have what it takes to make much of a difference in their own lives, let alone in the lives if others. What is worn is of more value than the character of the person. My husband is from a British Commonwealth background. Tradition is so strong. He's so strict about what should be worn. Sometimes, it irritates me. So recently, I googled "when did wearing beautiful clothes become part of church tradition". I was always taught that going to church was like going to see the king, and you would wear your best for the king. It turns out that it began with the Industrial Revolution. Suddenly people had money to spend on clothes which were now being produced in factories. Preachers taught against it. It not only caught on, but it became a new doctrine of sorts. Which is a shame, for scripture plainly says let it not be the braiding of hair, gold or apparel, but the hidden man of the heart. ..
Thank you for this breath of fresh air! I have always thought we should be wary of "trends" and while I don't think I would identify this trend as a cult.....I do think it should be approached with caution. Yes, the Lord looks at our hearts....not what we are wearing. So by that same light....should we really be giving undue attention to what other believers are wearing? I think clothing should be modest, clean and comfortable. Trends can go fly a kite!
Thank you for sharing! If you look up articles and videos on this topic, and if you familiarize yourself with cult practices, you will recognize the techniques being used by some to build audience and this trend.
Dear Shayla, thank you so. much. for your content. I have been watching a lot of your videos now for a few months and I enjoy them so much. Not only because I think your home and your style of filming is stunningly beautiful - this is a helpful first impression and soo enjoyable along the way. But I especially love your videos because of your thoughts, all the bible verses you share, the truth you speak. You encourage me and you challenge me in a good way. I love your heart for the bible and how you seek to follow its truth over anything our world teaches. I feel like if I can sense this love in anybody I trust their thoughts and opinions a lot more. And, thinking of the subject of this particular video, I think a love for the bible and its author makes a woman very beautiful. Thank you for sharing a bit of your story, too. I can only imaging what a way it must have been for you to figure out how God's love for you doesn't show in your circumstances like a nice bank account, perfect family and so on, but how he went HIS own way with you as his special warrior princess daughter and prepared you for your very special position, job and calling that you are living out now. I thank God for having his way with you so that we can see and be taught and encouraged. To HIM all the glory, and a big Thank You to you! Warm regards from Germany and be blessed further on! Angelina
Such a great teaching! I LOOOOVE wearing dresses and feel so much happier now that I wear the majority of the time even though no one else around me does. But I in no way ever thought this is a Biblical issue. It’s a personal issue of wanting to dress according my likes and not what is dominant in my culture. U love Jesus, and I know he is thrilled when I wear dresses simply because I am being true to how he made me - not because of the garment.
Praise God for this video. I am such a strong woman and I just intimidate people. But I love God dearly. I sit and I read and intercede and I lean in to the Holy Spirit. I do dress pretty when it’s time but that only because I got picked on so bad in school for being ugly and fat that it pushed me into makeup and fashion, so I can play in both worlds but most women do not like it because it intimidates them. It’s like I’m supposed to be dumb and pretty and not have a voice ❤
Thank you so much for sharing this video with us. We all have a story 💛 and I can relate so much to yours! You made me feel validated, encouraged, and inspired!
Thank you sooooo much! 😢 I am a SAHM but am not very "femmine." Also, my voice is naturally deepiesh and I love wearing pants😂. Where I stay we still have to handwash clothes, we still go to the maizemeal to make flour for our staple. Usually you would want to take a shower after those activities. Which may mean anywhere between 9-10am. So that means no dressing up earlier on.
Being a young and only child of divorced parents are challenging. My hats off to you. My parents were married until my Dad's death and my Mom never remarried. She passed 4 years later. When I was 14 our house burnt down. My parents decided to rebuild. I have 1 sister no brothers. Us girls dug trenches, dug out tree stumps, pounded out nails and straightened them for reuse. We sawed logs into a certain length and then split them for use in the woodstove. Hunting, fishing, gardening and canning were in our every day lessons. I was taught how to drive a John Deere tractor with the 2 wheels in front that are together. Then taught how to plow snow using that tractor. My Dad taught me how to do doughnuts on that tractor while plowing snow too. Lol. Mom was not impressed though. I wore dresses growing up but I still was a tomboy. Loved my dresses but I loved riding my bicycle, tumbling, cartwheels, flips, driving that tractor, haying (we also had a ma pig with her piglets and 3 steers, and my horse). After graduation I went to Mackinaw Island to live and work at the Grand Hotel. I loved it but it was not a career for me. In high school I took classes to direct me towards being a stewardess or my backup plan as a secretary. Well my parents couldn't afford stewardess school so I decidedly to go into the USAF. Long enough on this long episode of Sharon, but, I went on to have 4 children. I garden, forage, can and dehydrate. I live now in that house I helped to rebuild when I was 14 years old. We're empty nesters. We have goats, ducks, chickens, caged rabbit, dogs, indoor cats, 2 Quaker parrots, outdoor cat, wild rabbits we feed in winter, and 9 grandchildren and 3 great granddaughters. I still wear my dresses 😉. I believe you're right about the cross dressing. Seeking God is the first and only application towards femininity for me. Thank you Shalla (sp) I believe a lot of women need to hear more of these messages across the spectrum.
Wow, I have a lot of Similarities like you. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this subject. I could write something very long but i think it will be to much. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you from an only child and daughter whose mother was disappointed that I wasn't a Barbie doll. And as an adult when I didn't conform to an adult hair style (I'm 60 now and I have no clue what that even means lol) Not quite as "churched" as some of you...but my take on these "feminine women" have morphed into that. Over time, they have one upped each other to the standard that they have today. I have watched some RUclipsrs that are in that vein...right down to the long curls and big lashes. You remember junior high and high school where the girls kept competing with each other just a bit with clothes or makeup. These women simply never grew up and were never challenged in a way to make them break the mold. I've had a few women tsk tsk me in my day....the guys? They generally don't care appreciate a woman who is more capable and less "complex".
Always always moves me when women like yourself speak this way, because I grew up working hard on a small farm, jeans and wellington boots, had to stride over hedges or gates so dresses was so impractical and revealing, especially walking the cows up the main roads for milking with a tail back of lorries and cars behind me. Does that make me unbiblical because I was part of an ancient tradition of providing for community? So yes... worshipping events deserve better attire. ;) thank you so much
Wow!! This is so good!! Thank you so much!! I was raised not to wear pants! As a kid doing chores in a dress was very hard! I did not begin wearing pants until I was in my 30’s! The sad thing about that was I was always worried that I was going to let someone down if I did wear pants! That’s a burden no one should carry! I agree with Everything You Have Just Taught!
It's so sad how the man made rules and burdens can weigh us down for so long! I agree, not something God wants us to carry. Thank you for sharing, Kim!

I started watching your videos because I actually loved your natural normal look ❤I stayed because you are very knowledgeable and I love the down to earth Christian topics . If we just read our Bibles and applied what we read there would definitely be less judgement on how we should be
@@missdee3 Thank you for telling me this, I appreciate it and agree with you about how much less judgment there could be. 🥰
"Femininity is not our goal, but Godliness." Preach.
I hear you!
Me too!!!!❤
❤
I was raised Pentecostal Holiness. I cried through this whole video. We are supposed to be set apart from this world and homemaking does this for me. ❤ Very well said ❤
I am so looking forward to this! I am a stay at home mom and second generation homeschooler. My mom and I talk about this all the time right now. I am becoming very concerned about what I am seeing. It feels like just another viral trend with new age influences that is actually distracting us from what really matters!
I hope you enjoyed this, Emily! Thank you for being here!
❤
I am SO excited for this video!!! I really feel like “biblical womanhood” has been turned into something it is just not, and there is this cookie cutter version of what some woman are heavily portraying as biblical womanhood. I really can’t wait to hear your thoughts!!
I agree Ashley, there is a cookie cutter trend. I hope you enjoyed this video!
These are good points, Lerita. Thank you for sharing this. 🙏
I was so blessed by this video. Thanks for covering this topic!
Thank you so much for your kind words! Your kind words are encouraging, thank you for watching.
Probably my favorite video I have watched yet; I have been following for almost 1 year now. Thank you for your practical insight and openness in sharing your personal story, I found it inspiring! Praise God for His work in your heart and life despite all of the challenges!
You are so welcome! I am glad you found the video inspiring, thank you for the kind words.
Thank you so much for sharing your story and for your kind words, I am blessed by you as well!
I love that you spoke about this with so much common sense.
You are welcome, thank you for commenting and watching!
I started watching your videos recently because I was trying to find out what a trad wife was. I so appreciate the common sense approach that you have, both with life and Scripture. Thank you for answering this person's question.
Such a raw and honest video. Thank you for sharing.
16:35 yes! I love the idea of the Warrior Princess! What a wonderful belief 💜💜💜
You surely were made for such a time as this! Loved hearing your story, and I feel such a peace from it. Thank you ❤️
What breath of fresh air you are. THANK YOU. ❤
I am so glad you liked it!
Testimonies like this need to be shared more ♥️ Thank you for sharing Shayla. You have a beautiful heart and a beautiful story 🤗
Thank you so much, I appreciate that!
I felt the same way. This video surprised me, but in a good way.
Thank you, Olga!
The LORD sees me as his warrior princess! I love this 🩵 Raising children who will be warriors also. Oh, I loved this so much! I will be sharing this and giving you all the credits. God bless you.
Thank you so much for watching and sharing, I appreciate you!
Love this so much. You are changing lives. Keep it coming.❤
Shayla this video is such a jewel, like you. Thank you for bravely & humbly sharing part of your story. Your story, the tools & revelations you shared will help so many coming up the mountain behind you, making their journey a little easier.
I enjoyed listening to this video just before you said warrior. That is the word I thought of. Thanks for sharing your story
Wow! You were so Brave to tell your story! I loved your anylasis of the current trend! Thank you for your heart! God bless You and yours always!
Thank you for watching and your kind words, I appreciate you!
@mountainmamashome 🥰🌷
Thank you so much for sharing more of your story. ❤ I love listening to it and seeing where you’ve come and all the while hearing you weave in the the word as you do is beautiful. Thank you 🙏🏻
You are welcome, thank you for being here!
Totally agree with this. Raised with 2 older brothers and all male cousins and a mom who never dressed me girlie. But God DOES prepare us for future callings. Tomboy or girlie!
Thank you for taking a stand in saying all this! It was very good!
You are welcome, thank you for watching!
I'm so looking forward to meeting you in the kingdom, Shayla!!!❤❤
Thank you! Blessings to you as well!
❤ I had tears in my eyes. Thank you for for sharing this. I love watching your videos they are always so inspiring and full of wisdom. God bless you and your family.
You’re so welcome! I’m glad you found it helpful.
I am so glad you enjoyed this, I love what you shared here, BTW.
Thank you so much for watching, I appreciate you!
This was soo good!!! What a breath of fresh air, well done.
Greatly appreciate and fully agree with your biblical understanding on womanhood… I also like candid sharing…
This is exactly why God facilitated that comment on your video. This was amazing...well thought out, perfectly said, and full of truth. Thank you.
I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
Very well spoken. From the heart and the Living Word! Thank you.
Thank you for watching and commenting!
You are welcome, thank you for sharing!
Thank you for sharing this! Thank you for your kind words too. I too am thankful the Lord made a way for me to continue here for now 💛
What an encouraging video! Thank you!
Oh man!! So true, so refreshing! Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Warrior Princess! Yes, this is you. I love your channel even more. Thank you for allowing us into the difficult to share areas of your life. May the Lord use your humility to help another woman find His truth in her life too. Love you so much!
Thank you for the encouragement, you are so kind!
I am so glad you found it helpful! Thank you for telling me this and sharing!
Excellent view/perception/interpretation. Thank you!!
I appreciate that you agree, thank you!
You’re an amazing woman and a huge inspiration! I have also struggled in my childhood with femininity for various reasons. I believe everything in our lives happens for a reason. Just know that you are a beautiful and strong woman. ❤
Thank you so much, you are so kind!
You've been a voice of reason and inspiration to me, and probably to so many others, so again: thank you 😊
All best,
Cindy
God doesn't love me less, he is preparing me 🙌🏼
Thank you Shayla 🫶🏼
You are welcome, Dear!
I completely agree with you Jennifer, thank you for pointing these things out.
Thank you so much for your insight on this subject ❤
You are welcome!
I feel blessed to be a warrior princess for God, thankyou for this I really needed it. God bless you and youre family 🙏❤
" He didn't love me less..he was preparing me!"
Love this Shayla! I can resonate with this so much! ❤❤❤
Miss you!
Thank you, sweet Friend! I miss you too!
Amen sister!!! Love this!!!❤
This was beautiful, and spoken with great wisdom. Thank you for speaking on this!!
Amazing 🙏 well done sis. This is beautifully said and a beautiful done film
Thank you so much!
I grew up around only boys my mom wasn’t around. Most times I learned about how to be a woman from videos like this. You are a true inspiration.❤
Thank you so much for your kind words and for watching!
Beautifully said! I am so blessed to have watched this video. You have much wisdom to share with so many. Thank you for sharing it!
What an amazing testimony. God has indeed had His hand on you your entire life. How wonderful. He is using you in such a mighty way Shayla. Ty for sharing this. Ty for being useable. God definitely
has a plan for us all. Some just don't recognize it. This blessed me more than you will ever know. I thank you.
Thank you, Carol ❤️
Which is a shame, for scripture plainly says let it not be the braiding of hair, gold or apparel, but the hidden man of the heart. ..
Beautifully said!
Thank you!
Thank you so much! You have no idea how much i needed to see that!
Holy cow! You are so right! Wow I loved this.
And you made me feel so much better thinking I’m a warrior princess
Dang some great insight here ❤
I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
Wow I loved hearing your story, ooof the end 🔥
I'm really enjoying this story.🕊️
Dear Shayla,
thank you so. much. for your content.
Angelina
Thank you so much for taking the time to tell me this, Angelina. I really appreciate it and you warmed my heart! God Bless!
Thank you for watching, and I'm so glad it resonated with you!
You did a wonderful job on this ❤
I really enjoyed your video! This was very relatable and comforting to me. Thank you
Well said. You are not alone.
Thank you!
Thank you so much . I needed this
Wow, I have a lot of Similarities like you. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this subject. I could write something very long but i think it will be to much. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching, Cathy! And I don't mind long comments, I enjoy them. I am not always able to reply but I do enjoy reading them.
Thank you from an only child and daughter whose mother was disappointed that I wasn't a Barbie doll. And as an adult when I didn't conform to an adult hair style (I'm 60 now and I have no clue what that even means lol)
Not quite as "churched" as some of you...but my take on these "feminine women" have morphed into that.
So yes... worshipping events deserve better attire. ;) thank you so much
You made excellent points here, thank you so much for sharing! I love how you put it so simply.
I really like your definition of a godly feminine woman. ❤️Subscribed… also like gardening & herbs! ✨😊
This video is fantastic, thank you!
