    In this video we are going to learn how to design a conditioning plan for boxing. Many boxing coaches undoubtedly have immense knowledge regarding the art and skill of boxing, but scientific methodologies regarding the strength and conditioning are still relatively unknown.
    An effective endurance plan for boxing will mainly emphasize two types of endurance; aerobic endurance and anaerobic endurance. They are both vital for different situations and they require different approaches. Think of aerobic endurance as the size of the engine while anaerobic endurance is the horse power.
    I hope you learn something new from this video.

    This was really helpful. Somethings I have done that helped me in sparring is not only breathing during punches but also during defense too. Also complete rest and reset in between rounds. Also leading up to a fight / sparring having good bag work. 12 rounds with simulated fight rhythm with only a 30 second break.

    Does steady cardio and interval cardio have similar but slightly different results? That doubt has been hunting me for a while. I’ve trained interval cardio for several months and I feel very efficient at high intensity sports, but don’t feel as steady great when climbing a mountain or going for a run. Maybe I should train both equally.
    By the way, the content you’re uploading is very amazing and informative, keep it up!

    • @PowerTraining
      @PowerTraining  2 года назад +6

      Hi,
      it depends on the format but yes the results will be slightly different. They both have their time and place. If you notice one format gives you superior results based on your needs, you should stick to it for as long as it gives you results. I wouldn't over complicate the matter too much.
      And thank you!

    thx ive been trying to figure out how to train, play my sport, and work, without burning out but the real question i have is how should i structure my program when not training for a competition? Like currently i am doing boxing practice with coach 2x week, working on developing my running with interval of walk run 2x a week and to help me relax and get flexible doing yoga 2x a week. I don't own a tv and I work 10 hours 6 days a week. I have noticed my performance improving

    Here you recommended a 12 week program before a competition. But what if you are not competing (maybe in the future) but want to gain better endurance in boxing. What is the best way to train endurance.
    Cycle through the periodization , so after week 12 start with week 1 again. Or what?
    What do u recommend?

    • @PowerTraining
      @PowerTraining  2 года назад +1

      Hi, the 12 weeks template is just a very general example. Everyone is different and respond differently. If you're not competing, I would not over complicate the endurance part and just experiment with the different formats and instead put most of the effort in the art and skill of boxing itself, you will save more energy and get tired less frequently and you become more efficient in boxing.
