Julianne, you are the SWEETEST and we loved talking with you!! We absolutely LOVE the stickers & sticker sheets we bought!! 💖 thank you so much!!! Totally love how real and transparent you are in your videos too, definitely enjoyed this! 🥰
The video refused to hit that 40 minute mark 😂. Liked the video, good as always, I love how you catch that frantic “I’m late!” energy always gets a laugh out me.
Girl the busy work idea instead of staring at people after they talk to you is such a GOOD idea. This eases my mind when I finally start my small art shop ❤
Megacon used to be one of my local shows, I think one reason the perception that Megacon is this crazy good show is because Florida has like 40 different shows throughout the year that are all small/ mid and they all kind of bleed into each other, but Mega has stayed on top of all the other Florida cons. So to local Florida Artists Megacon seems like the best it gets unless you can travel out of state, to get a more accurate perspective. The re-uping every year also plays into this as it creates fewer spots for new artists to get into, so to locals, it has gained this reputation of being a very competitive show to get into. thus making it look more desired. Mega has always been a very average show for me but because we auto-get back in every year I always go back. This year oddly was much better for us than the year prior so idk what that means, maybe we just had a good spot this time.
Wow it’s interesting to hear from a locals perspective! This con was mostly hyped by out of staters for me but I can see word of mouth just traveling around from local to out of state folk to create a reputation!
I love that you're calling your own artwork cute because you are so right! Hype yourself up because we really are our own best supporter. That's also something I'm working on as well.
Also, I wanted to say your tip about busy work while people are shopping is really helpful. I always do like "fake" busy work so they don't feel pressure, but I never considered bringing actual busy work 😅
I like having the business cards. They are fast to pick up and a nice souvenir. I dont want to go around scanning a bunch of qr codes during the con, but I will take the time once I'm at home and rested to go through the cards I got and look at everyone's art. I follow those whose art I connect with.
I've only done small one-day cons with 200ish people. In two weeks I have my first 4-day con with a few thousand people and this was so helpful!!! Thank you so much! Love your content! You're the only person I've seen actually share how much stock you bring!
i think you made a really good point when u called your art cute, almost all artists hate their art at some point and theres really no point in doing that when artists create art because they love doing art. so love creating and also love the product (easier said than done ofc)
I was thinking that you can make cute coasters with your art. It is great for display all over the home...:). To me, you have a cute way to remind us of your art which I love as it makes me laugh.
Always love following along with your convention shenanigans! This was really informative and you went over a lot of little things that otherwise go unthought of. Can’t wait for the next!
Julianne it was such a pleasure to meet you. I always enjoy watching your videos, and you were just as wonderful in person. Thank you for taking the time to chat with me and my fiancé. 🥰
You are truly one of my all time favorite artists and always a joy to see! I was so happy to see you a couple times during the con! I always will support you if you are at a con I am at! Keep saying your artwork is cute because it freaking is girl!! Keep up the amazing work and hope to see you again soon!
Thank you for sharing your experience! I heard how amazing and big Megacon was, especially since a lot of Florida theme park vloggers I watch always cover it every year as this massive NYCC-tier event, and so I hurried to put in an application for 2025 before this year's convention was even over and it was already waitlisted! So here's to the 2025 waitlist.
Oh yeah, I have postcards that I give out. I have yet to make any follow-up sales. Unless it’s local. I do a fair share of local shows and it does make them remember sometimes.
I'm glad i was able to stop by your table and finally buy some of your stuff!! I was an artist in the row behind you, but i was way too nervous to talk. 😂 but i hope you had a good time!
I've been binging all of your videos recently and you are amazing! I completely agree with those mini microphones from Amazon because I literally returned them yesterday after I just got them. The reviews lied to us!! Aghh!! But well done as always!
I've been loving these vlogs! I myself have been preparing to begin tabling locally and you've been some very nice background watching (and note taking) while I prepare inventory! I myself have heard a lot of good things about Megacon, but that's because I live around the area so its interesting to get outside perspective. (Also, completely unrelated, you mentioned that a lot of people have a southern accent in Florida after complimenting a man's cosplay and my mind just exploded. I don't even think I recognized that I have an accent!) Thank you for all the documentation you've been doing! it's been helping me paint a better picture of expectations and making me a lot more grounded and less nervous!
I've said it once and I'll say it everytime you upload one - I LOVE YOUR CON VLOGS 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 Welcome to my home state even though I've never been to MegaCon lol. Yes the Floridian southern accent is real 😂 "It's the megacon sign!" was so cute!!!
I created my own pattern based off of your sprout and wanted to make it to your con in Minneapolis to give it to you, but I can't 😭It's so soft and about 8" tall. I love your videos. You're the first (and only so far) person I've bought products from. And I'll definitely be buying more soon because AAHHH so cute!
Realistically, everyone has a con budget. I wish I could buy all the art I like, or make some financial contribution for each artist, but it isn’t possible. For myself, with a physical business card I am much more likely to purchase art after a con when I have some disposable income again. Scanning the QR code is nice to be paper free, but I find artists get lost to the algorithm way easier. Just something to keep in mind 😊
True! I completely respect that and know people are looking to be able to support artists in ways that they can. But it’s also true people just like collecting and then throwing away lol in my experience business cards have a super low conversion rate for follows and purchases. People seem to be fine with using the QR code if they actually want to follow along with my art :)
I agree about the 'small items" thing. I sold at Halloween XSPO in 2023. I sold only tiny prints and stickers. I talked to other vendors and they said the same thing that people were looking for small things. It also didn't help that a handful of vendors were selling LARGE AF prints for $10-$15. -___- I like your idea about only giving business cards to customers, and that everyone else gets a direct link to your socials. And yeah, I've encountered the business card collectors, too. I think it's just a 'I want a thing and it's free and freely obtained' thing.
What I've found about theses conventions, the Fan ones, is if they have HUGE movie guests then people are spending money on autographs and not on art. Fanboy Expo Knoxville was that way last year sadly.
I enjoyed this video and you just have the cutest smile and attitude. I've never been to a con, but I will definitely check one out in my area to support artists.
You really inspired me to trying to design my own stickers, even tho I’m not particularly good with drawing in a similar kawaii style like most people do. The passion I have been feeling about this is the most have felt in a really long time, I always wanted to design my own stuff or start my own buisness but I never new what I want to do till now! I have been drawing all my ideas down I had in my head, my printer is on the way and I’m saving up for a cricut, I’m not looking out for selling a lot, to me it’s more a passion project and I’m hoping to get better at drawing my ideas for stickers I have in mind! 🥰 Do you have any tips for me to get better at drawing stickers? Or drawing in general?🥰
Personally I like having the physical business cards because if I take a picture of the qr code I am not gonna remember it because I don't go into my pictures that often
OMG I’m always wondering wtf to do with myself when people are looking at my work and they’re going to buy. I also am trying to figure out the perfect thing to do when people walk by and kind of stop but don’t full stop. Do I keep smiling? Look away!? Might be easy for some folks but not for me 😅
Love love your con reviews! What headphones do you wear and do you use the mic on them? I can't get my shirt mic to sound good either but the audio when you were wearing them was super clear.
Love the video as always! You rock! Thanks for the links for your containers Im so getting those!! How would one find shows in my area? I eventually would love to do shows like these but I just dont know where to start!
I remembering seeing your booth at megacon and was like "wait a second I watch her artist alley vlogs" and hightailed back to buy THE toast sticker and some prints. I think the wifi this year was awful, and a lot of vendors had issues with venmo/card transactions. I hate to admit I'm also a business card hoarder (hehe) but I usually collect them (especially for large cons like Megacon) to remind myself to go back to their booth or they had merch I really liked but I couldn't buy at the time (and buy it online instead).
Your stuff is really cute! Also lol at the southern accent thing, I guess Florida is weird bc there are parts that really don’t seem southern and then you realize it’s right next to farm towns that are basically southern Georgia palm tree edition.
as a northeast artist , I always struggle with what a "good" show means. People ask me, I get into shows and I try to look, and it feels like no matter how good a show is, artists will say it was mid, and no matter how bad a show is artists will say its mid. You either have that or the few decent events getting hyped so outa proportion that people are upset. It's always kinda disheartening to be excited to get into a show only for either you to not have your expectations met or the people around you didnt and so you have to stay in that lower mood environment. The northeast suffers from this a lot, mostly bc its genuinely cheaper for me to travel to shows then do one local bc of our hotel and table rates. I am glad you had fun and your vlogs are my favorite AA vlogs, hope I can maybe go to the same show one day!!!
Business cards when I can't buy more stuff. If I've got ur card if u have an online shop I can hit ur store front up after the con on payday or end of the month when bills are payed.
The other thing I’ve found is when shopping for shows, people frequently inflate how they did on social media. I appreciate your transparency but it’s a chronic problem since social media has existed. I’ve frequently been at shows that were lousy only to hear from other exhibitors that they ‘had a great show’.
Brother idk why it’s like that I swear it was a full video when I uploaded it LOL
Girl the busy work idea instead of staring at people after they talk to you is such a GOOD idea. This eases my mind when I finally start my small art shop ❤
Haha u have no idea how many awkward moments I’ve had before I figured that out 😂

Do you have any other good recommendations for Florida cons?
I love that you're calling your own artwork cute because you are so right! Hype yourself up because we really are our own best supporter. That's also something I'm working on as well.

I loved having this in the background while I worked! I even filmed content with it on the screen :) that ending though. the cliffhanger!
i think you made a really good point when u called your art cute, almost all artists hate their art at some point and theres really no point in doing that when artists create art because they love doing art. so love creating and also love the product (easier said than done ofc)
28:17 Omg! That's my Piplup tattoo! ❤❤ it was so awesome to meet you at the Con. My boyfriend and I absolutely love your artwork!
I was thinking that you can make cute coasters with your art. It is great for display all over the home...:). To me, you have a cute way to remind us of your art which I love as it makes me laugh.
I don't know what it is, but something about your videos is just so calming to me. I love watching them
Always love following along with your convention shenanigans! This was really informative and you went over a lot of little things that otherwise go unthought of. Can’t wait for the next!

Loved meeting you and I love the prints and stickers! Thank you for another great con video!
Oh yeah, I have postcards that I give out. I have yet to make any follow-up sales. Unless it’s local. I do a fair share of local shows and it does make them remember sometimes.
I get stressed when I watch your comicon vids. You have some frenetic energy!
I'm glad i was able to stop by your table and finally buy some of your stuff!! I was an artist in the row behind you, but i was way too nervous to talk. 😂 but i hope you had a good time!

Ouch... How did it end.. I need to know.. How did it END? :)))
LOL that’s my bad I have no idea what happened with the rest of the video 😭😭😭
This was really informative. Thanks. Loved ❤this video😊
Omg thank you so much!!
I created my own pattern based off of your sprout and wanted to make it to your con in Minneapolis to give it to you, but I can't 😭It's so soft and about 8" tall. I love your videos. I loved your adorable, night before the con stroll/rambling.
Hi Julian!!!! I been waiting for your video. I love watching your vlogs while crochet market prep

have you ever done DesignerCon? its been in Annaheim almost every year but this year it will be in Vegas.
Around large prints preferred/more popular? That’s a lot of stickers, did you cut them all yourself?
Not the video just ending 😂
I’m literally the worst LOL
22:31 We stan Queen Lalaine 💅
Fan Expos are a hit or miss for sure 😭😭😭

Same when it comes to people "collecting" business cards..so damn annoying plus they don't buy NOTHING! ...Hell has a special place for those people.
