I think he’s doing it on purpose to shake things up. He also had a few wild predictions for the pacific division standings
AZ was 23-19-3 as of Jan 22nd last year. Then the arena BS started Marty Walsh had his comments on it and bang 14 game losing streak from 1/24-2/29 and they are 23-31-5 at the end. Finished 36-41-5 so after that losing streak they went 13-10 so take those 14 games out and they are 36-29-3. Go like 6-6-2 in those games that's 42-35-4 and 88 points.

I don't think they make the playoffs but I don't think there's any way they finish below the Blackhawks or the Blues
They don't need forwards. They need defense and they got Sergachev. That's a very high end relatively young(ish) defenseman. This team will surprise people (assuming general health of course)
Stenland will be missed in Florida and is a really good defensive 3rd/4th line center and PK guy.

Saying Utah can't make a 10 point jump, adding much needed defense, having actual stability, and an incredible boost of the new team vibes. But, saying Black hawks will make a 30 point jump is wild..
Jesse is on some serious copium with that take. Yes, it's only one position back but their was a 25 point difference between the Yotes and Hawks. Bedard isn't dragging Chicago up by that much.
Maccelli is my favorite player in the league. His passing is absolutely absurd.
They're a franchise in a really good position moving forward, if they have a good start with the "new team" vibes then come the trade deadline if they're in contention for a playoff spot they may go spend big!

I get that it's non-traditional and a lot of people will hate this opinion, but I honestly love "Utah Hockey Club". I know it won't stay that way, but I think it's kinda sick and it at least stands out. Even if they end up with a logo or something I still love the location-sport-club naming convention. They do this in so many other sports around the world, and it's weird within the NHL/hockey but I really dig it.
As a soccer fan I also dig it. Just not a fan of the colors but meh
I wanna refer to them as “The Hockey Club” this year, like Washington being “The Football Team”, except they wear plain warm up gear you would see at an Academy sports store
It's as good as any other teams name. Just hope their jerseys get more interesting, the Coyotes had such great designs

Y'all thinking about this the wrong way. Yotes were such a cursed franchise that of course UHC will make a deep playoff run the year they get sold.
Second, making a deep playoff run under a temporary name with how superstitious the sport is will be a fun decision for the ownership.
