    Thanks for sharing this with us. I'm very impressed of your carving skills. I'm just a beginner in wood working but its very adictive and satisfing to see a pice of wood come to life, step by step. Especially such a little precious like the Marunezumi.

      I forgot to add in my previous comment. I like the slightly bigger Marunzenumi a bit more than the small ones because of the position of the little string in the right hand. I seems very natural and looks like the mouse is actively holding the string or a leave of gras on purpose.

    This one is my dream to make. Next week i wil be able to get the buxuswood. I first will create a sphere and from there on i will study this instruction and photos online. Excited :)

      Sphere practice is important. I was told to practice at least 10. Good luck.

      @@netsuke ..working on the 1st now. I finished the roughing out now and my hands are really hurting. :) As it looks now it will take 4 or more tries before it will look good, perhaps not. The big difficulty is to keep it round of shape.

      @@Erwin_AMS Relax without exerting too much effort. The sphere is difficult, but its practice is always a good experience.

    Is the 1st gouge you are using 1,5 mm?

    • @netsuke
      @netsuke  2 месяца назад

      At what minute is the scene, 1.5's are often used.

      @@netsuke at minute 6 you start by creating the outlines, must be the 1.5 then :)
