This is the first video of three from Taipei, Taiwan! A city full of food obsessed people, I automatically felt at home as soon as I stepped off the plane.
Check out this video as I go around the city and hit many iconic eats that are must try foods if in Taiwan. I barely scratched the surface, but luckily I have a few more days to eat my body weight in these mouth watering street foods, iconic eats, and places the locals love.

23:30-24:00 in Nanmeng market, the food packet with bamboo leaf outside , that is 粽子 (zong zi) usually have rice and meat inside, mostly is salty, but there is sweet too, the sweet zong-zi, usually has rice and red beans. They are very traditional food and delicious , you should try.
When I come back I am going to go there and buy a big variety and unwrap and try each one. It will be like my foodie Christmas present unwrapping! HAHA
good to know you will try. I believe you will like. One more thing, different places of zong-zi different taste, in Taiwan, you can ask what's located zong-zi when you buy, from your video, I saw Hunan zong-zi, north of Taiwan zongzi and maybe have south of Taiwan zongzi, too. Enjoy....

Every region in the country has their own unique version of local dishes but you can never go wrong with Cebu’s lechon, sisig, sinigang, and adobo! ❤️

Why didn't I watched this video earlier? Taipei is such a clean and cute city , reminds me of Tokyo where I visited once. I like the big sandwich-like breakfast and the rice filled with pork and lovely green vegetables at the end .

yeah, I think I was surprised at the amount of influence the Japanese had on the city. Really didn't get to stay there long so looking forward to coming back!

The food that's wrapped in leaf in a tetrahedron shape is glutinous/sweet rice dumpling. Usually filled with different sort of beans, meat, mushroom, salted egg, chestnuts and whatnot. They keep well in room temperature or for a few days in the fridge.
windowpane ahhh okay, I figured it was that! I just had no way of know which one was filled with what! I’ve never seen that many varieties in my life so it was pretty amazing!

Just like when my family buy me some mixed ones, I have no way of knowing what's inside each one, I just let it surprise me :)

I like the leaf wrapped sweet rice and pork ones better. With Taiwan's summer temperature, it's better to keep them in refrigerator. When you want to eat it, you can either steam it or microwave it covered with moist paper towel.

TC Chiang yeah there is! I’m usually open to a lot of foods and especially if it’s a staple in a cuisine I try and find the beauty in it. However, there are things I don’t like and I’ll be sure to film that too so my opinion means more and you all know I’m telling the truth!

I love the fried Water spinach. I haven't try the mochi yet. I tried the Bun with pork Belly at the Streetfood festival in Switzerland. It was delicious😋😋😋.

Randomly search the Taiwanese food videos on RUclips. As a Taiwanese living in HK now, I really miss the Taiwanese food. I’m booking flight ticket back to Taipei for beef noodle after watching the video.

In Taipei people call braised pork over rice as Lu Rou Fan. But in Tainan(south city ),we call it Rou tsau Fan. It is way better than Taipei Lu Rou Fan.

Hey Max! How’s it going? Here are some food facts! If you don't cheers someone before you take a swig of your beer, you can't marry them or anyone in their family. If you don't look someone in the eye while you cheers them, they have the legal right to take all your livestock. If multiple people are cheers-ing, their arms mustn't cross. Max u have 2 try everything but I have some suggestions, thin noodle soup (omeso), triangle sticky rice (zongzhi) it’s wrapped in bamboo leaves, pork steam buns (baozi), Taiwanese roast beef, oyster omelette if you’re into seafood, Taiwanese dumplings 🥟, Taiwanese fried chicken, stinky tofu, it smells bad cuz it’s fermented but tastes good, some people like & some don’t, mango or strawberry or pineapple or banana shaved ice, y not all everything’s great & delicious, I hope u like.
Max I forgot also try milk tea, matcha tea & boba tea all flavors.
