Motorsport(s) or motor sport(s) are sporting events, competitions and related activities that primarily involve the use of automobiles, motorcycles, motorboats and powered aircraft. For each of these vehicle types, the more specific terms automobile sport, motorcycle sport, power boating and air sports may be used commonly, or officially by organisers and governing bodies.[1][2][3][4] - Игры
I think the big oversights of the sausage kurbs are that they are solely designed to stop a car from cutting and overlook any and all safety concerns.
sir your an f1 fan i would keep the zipper on your mouth shut before you say something else embarrassing
curbs have 0 purpose in motorsports i don’t give a damn what your waffling on about they provide no significance in any sort of situation except for it being one awful hazard and a danger for any and all drivers but you f1 people only see it as that bc the fia would sue your ass for thinking otherwise 🤢 go watch some real shit before you get anymore brainwashed
@@sundaxe10 the guy literally said that sausage curbs are bad, no f1 fan likes sausage curbs anymore than you do
It's synonym for catapult
If there would be no tarmac after the curbs, we would not have problems like this. But everyone keeps removing gravel...
As an Indiana resident, I can confirm all of our roads fall apart like the curb in Indy
I still for the life of me have no idea how sausage kerbs were *ever* thought of as a good idea in the first place, let alone how the use of them hasn't been completely banned yet.
I dont get how they just installed them and never once thought about "oh what if someone hits it at 90°" lol like i know im a fuckin retard but even i would think about that beforehand 🤣 but the fia? Nah lmfao
Still can't believe the FIA stands by Sausage Kerbs. I guess a car has to get launched into the crowd for them to do something.
safety innovations in racing have always been in reaction to a death, so this tracks.
I saw the first crash in person and I remember the crowd cheering when they removed the broken Kerb.
I already forgot that Jimmie Johnson raced indycar.
Racing is a generous term for what he did in Indycar
A kerb shouldnt break a drivers back just because they ran over it. Thats unacceptable. Not to mention all the other cars that actually went flying. Thats unacceptable as well. Ban sausage kerbs
The thumbnail grabbed my attention! I have Bell's lower RR quarter panel and the left half of Suarez's nose from that crash into the barrier at Indy.
5:00 The design of that chicane is boneheaded beyond belief. So glad they redesigned it.
All they needed to do was move the tire barrier back or send the drivers back to driving school, chicane as designed fine
@@silvy3047 The initial design of that chicane…the one shown in the video…didn’t do much to slow the cars down or encourage overtaking. Even if you got rid of the turtle kerbs and the tire barrier at the exit, there’s not going to be much passing opportunities in that initial configuration.
Other than those two issues, it wasn’t a horrible chicane.
I mean I would prefer this one over the new one if they redesigned the tire barriers
@@dkashvideos That would render the chicane completely pointless. You might as well as just have them flying off into Turns 3&4 of the oval at unabated speed. It was as poorly designed as the temporary tire barrier chicane that was used for the American Le Mans Series race there in 2000. A chicane that, according to factory Viper driver David Donahue, changed every time he went through it.

4:50 well, that such a ironic banner...
Your channel has the best compilation of crashes by far.
Good job man!
We had kerbs, we had curbs, we had kurbs...and they all sucked. :) Great video, that second crash was absolutely horrifying. That guy had some serious hang time!
I'm waiting for someone to clear the race track because of a sausage curb
Saw the title, and 4:37 was the one I was waiting for, the one I was going to bring up if it wasn't included. Cannot think of a more visceral example of kerbs doing the opposite of what they're intended to.
The crash at 2:16 actually broke that racer’s back, she launched over one sausage, then landed on the next, which fractured a vertebrae, she has recovered and is racing again
3:28 Without the halo that second driver would have been hit by a whole F2 car..
Broke Abbie Eaton's back.
It's a matter of 'when' not 'if' for a driver fatality because of a sausage kerb. This can easily be prevented by removing them.
If i had a nickel for every time indy road was featured i would be rich
Well, thats one way to Kerb your Enthusiasm
Kerbs: The most dangerous thing on earth
Honorable mention is Jeff Jefferson’s crash at Sanoma in 2007 I believe.
That dude think hes at a golf tournament? No way yer calming an "awww shucks" crowd
Sausage kurbs be killing everyone indiscriminately
I'll take; "What are track limits for $500 Alex"
Sausage curve are dangerous, especially on Monza in WEC..
3:55 please tell me that blue/yellow driver got fined or suspended for that... he checked his mirrors directly before turning into him so he had to know he was back there, and he 'turned' weeeeeelllll before you'd turn to make that corner....
Smiling sound effect
My bad I missed the stream!
how Sophia Floersch survived that Macau crash I have no clue
The FIA keeping sausage curbs proves anything they say about safety is just lip service ans they actually do not care about the safety of the drivers. There seriously needs to be an international ban on their use.
Sausage, kerbs, turtles… whatever you want to call them. I call them the stupidest motorsport invention.
3:16 "He's off and into the path of another car!" -- Umm.. no.. he's 'into the path' of the same guy who ran him off the road.... i'd consider that Karma....
These Nascar cars are meant to be raced on flipping circle they are not meant for road racing
If I'm not mistaken, in the clip at 2:02 Abbie Eaton broke 2 vertebraes due to the sausage kurb
Timestamps?
Something everybody despise as well: racing on a flat parking lot with a couple of white stripes painted to mark the track limits. Which one is worse?
Parking lots definitely, look how miami gp went
I mean, they don’t have to outright get rid of curbs, just need to get rid of sausage curbs. They are the ones responsible for flinging the cars in the air.
3:31 what circuit is this?
Don't know the exact name but based on the sponsors I would assume it would be in either Australia or New Zealand
@@Icaru512I’d say Australia. As an Australian myself I recognise the accent very easily. Plus they mentioned mark webber, who is Australian as well, so it would tie in. Not sure what track however it would be a race from 2010 as that’s the year Webber had his flip at Valencia.
@@Icaru512 after some research I found that it was Graeme Holmes and John Boothman at Sandown 2010.
Heidfeld's & Sophia's shunts could easily have been fatalities, and Peroni's probably would have been, if in a pre-halo car. I'm no longer concerned about driver injuries, as speed is inherently dangerous, and the safety innovations post 2001 have only allowed them to drive like disrespectful iRacing thugs -- but the people who really need to be safe are the spectators and marshals. If things turned out slightly different those three crashes could have launched into marshals or photographers if they were there, along with 3:33 and 3:00, the latter even having a chance to end up in the seats -- better off putting K-rails or reinforced concrete walls there instead of speedbumps, otherwise you might as well mount ramps on the track if the organizers just wanna see cars fly
First clip, nascars failing to turn right hahaha😂
All jokes, love nascar
How many crashes more we have to see to ban these sausage kerbs?
All of this is terrible but if someone added a boing sound every time someone hit a sausage curb
Did the driver in the 3rd to last crash survive?
unfortunately yes
@@sundaxe10 I'm sorry how is that unfortunate
@@sundaxe10 the driver's brakes failed into the corner idk how her being a woman has anything to do with that
@@sundaxe10 who hurt you? was it a woman?
@@sundaxe10 I smell a incel.
Ban sausage kurbs
Charlotte roval = Daytona roval wannabe.
And who's idea to put chicane in corner before start/finish line?
well the NASCAR cars take longer to brake so that prolly explains that... and their epic fail at COTA Turn 1 last year
Curb
Nothing will ever be as ridiculous as that first clip, nascar always being a joke. 😂
(a) your bullshitting and (b) the only joke here is you “durden”
i wish youtube would let me say more severe things to you but oh well
@@sundaxe10 lol, making fun of american censorship and how easily they are offended by words on social media is not a burn. 🤣
@@tylerdurden4006there’s more countries on yt than just the USA, how is it American censorship’s fault?
it was a broken kerb on the track that caused it how is that the fault of nascar 💀
i remeber the 1st video.. Blaming oil when it was just racers who only know how to turn to the left, having to counter steer like normal circuit races do lol
There are plenty of good road racers in NASCAR. The problem was the wear and tear on that particular kerb.
It was oil though, when the kerb broke the front splitter of the first car it also broke the oil line which then meant there was oilf on the ground, that many drivers dont go off like that unless there is oil.
If you don't like Nascar and oval racing that's fine but you don't need to hate on it, they are still very quick drivers even on road courses they beat ex-F1 drivers, and sportscar drivers on road courses.
