Genuinely I have to say this is my favorite trophy/achievement channel because of the rage moments. Outside of the laughs the rage is what makes everything completely relatable. We've all had moments where we've lost it so to then actually see the plat still being achieved is satisfying just about every time. Plus, like many people have been saying it's still great to see MGR getting love, one day I have to come back to this game and see if I can't clean up what I'm missing.

I used the infinite wig for my Revengeance S run because I played through it normally without the wig. Only one level made me go from “maybe I don’t need it” to “fuck this, all bets are off:” Sundowner’s level. Few things made me go into fits of psycho laughter as much as this.
I used the infinite item wig because I used my items for most fights in that level. I dind't spend more than the max amount of items per fight, I simply wanted to go into every new fight with full stock without having to use the reset to farm items trick (had to do enough of that in Wolf's DLC), and proper use of items REALLY help in a lot of those fights. Especially the RP grenades. The only time I straight up spammed items with no restriction was the GRAD in the lobby fight because I thought it was the only way. I've since then learned that there is a way to kill it using only 2-3 EMP nades if you use the pincer blades JUST right.
100%ing this game is even harder on PC. S ranking every fight in both Sam's and Wolf's DLC, beating said DLCs in under 1 hour on max diff, no damaging their bosses, and 30 more *FUN* VR missions, including mission 27 which still haunts my nightmares.

i found sams boss fight to be pretty disappointing in general, with armstrong however if i included as much from that fight as i wanted to it would be the entire video

Regarding your point about soldiers like Snake being irrelevant in an era of cyborgs, I think that was the whole point of MGS4. Snake was (physically) old, his nanotech enhancements were inferior, and the only reason he was able to keep up with his technologically advanced foes was his sheer combat experience and skill - and even that could be replicated with VR training. MGR takes place at a point in time where soldiers of even Snake’s caliber are obsolete. That’s why you don’t see any soldiers like him anymore - cyborgs have confined conventional soldiers to the dust bin of military history, alongside muskets, ironclads, and biplanes. Raiden’s feats in Rising also aren’t a huge stretch from what he was able to pull off in the MGS games. His cyborg body back then was able to spin around those bipedal mechs using just their wires, like they were made of styrofoam, and he could still block and dodge bullets. And before he had any augmentations at all, Raiden was still able to destroy multiple MG Rays in a straight battle.
Fun fact, on PC there are 30 more VR missions. Complete with their own achievement for gold ranking them, Hero of the Metaverse. And that little collection of missions has it's own "mission 18", and it's mission 27. IMO it actually rivals 18 for the hardest one. Also there's achievements for the DLC, obviously no-damaging the bosses and also "beat all of it in under 1 hour on max diff" for both Sam's and Wolf's DLC. And naturally, even though there is no achievement for it, there's ranked fights for you to S in both of them. There is one particular VR fight in Sam's DLC (the 4th one you can find) that is also up there with VR mission 18 btw :) As someone who S/golded all the above, I now require you to do the same 😁 Also, 90% of the time the camera does something weird, it's because you're next to a wall (or equivalent prop). Think of the camera as being carried by that tutrle on a cloud in Mario 64, and he can't phase through walls. I learned to manage it by staying away from the walls.
Metal Gear Rising actually IS canon in the Metal Gear timeline. And as far as cheese-Ing goes, if the game lets you do it, it's fair play in Platinum runs IMO.
its one of my favorite games of all time and I remember platinuming it on xbox back in the day~ I don't remember it being too hard, except getting all the S ranks on revengeance difficulty cause you need to do them without taking damage, and at some gimmicky encounters I had to follow guides how to get an S rank - and the only real rage moment I had is when I fought the double Grad boss over and over to get no damage, and when I did it, it didn't give me the no damage S rank and I threw away the controller - later turned out its a common bug, some people cant get no damage at that fight either even if they did it perfectly :D

Interesting how he never realized he can orient himself with the lines on the ground in that VR mission that was giving him trouble, because they can either be horizontal or vertical depending on where you look at them, and all you would need to do is remember if the enemies spawn parallel to the lines or across with them

When I first played this game I thought it was way too short for how awesome it was. Then I went for the no damage trophies… and Monsoon can eat my ass.
That games plat was literally my favorite to have earned. Although I guess it may not be plat since I got every achievement on steam and not on Playstation. Of the bosses that I had the hardest time getting a not hit on though, I think it was Jet Sam I had the most trouble for some reason. I loved doing it though. Also, if you listen to the music it's actually all about the character's motivations and the like, fantastical score.
I got PTDS while watching this. MGR platinum is without a doubt the hardest platinum I have gotten to date. And so much of it felt like unfair bullshit, like the VR missions. Still great game tho
@@joestaenthe blade also allows you to cut enemies in either 1 or 2 hits making most encounters a breeze, the murusama is a decent alternative but the fox blade is crazy
For all of the complaints about the camera for example the ones starting at 48:40 if you don't want to lose track of the enemies I'd recommend just using the lock on for it's intended purpose.
@@GawdlikeMatt @GawdlikeMatt In my opinion the camera isn't even that bad it usually stays behind Raiden the problem is when you get hit and your not locked on to any enemies the camera stays with Raiden that's why you have to use the lock on to keep track of them here's an example of that.(ruclips.net/video/XfPCGPfIX7c/видео.htmlsi=4B4gDAWf2xdujBGy) also for the part with the sliders when you activate blade mode I'm pretty sure that the camera snaps to wherever Raiden is facing for blade mode.
quick tip use fox blade to one shot normal enemies it's really good even though it cost allot and use murasama blade for boss and you missed the dlc achievement
I can see at least ONE blessing of this game already where they let you go through Dialogue fast. Some games in normal mode like Skyward sword have ACTUAL Cutscene torture where the dialogue can't be skipped and is even less interesting than this dialogue. Yeah THOSE games are a trip.

Hey matt there is a game that would be awesome for you to platinum if you havent yet uncharted nathan drake the collection. The reason for this is because this 3 platinum trophies are one of the hardest trophies i have ever gotten i had an easier time getting the plat for elden ring than getting the 3 plats for uncharted. Oh and the extra trophies are horrendous 😂
theres a weapon called the fox blade that costs 100k and it has an upgrade for 500k that lets u 1 slice any enemies except bosses. carried my Stormbringer achievement
Wonder if you’ll willing to try Pizza Tower, it has some pretty brutal achievements, and the game is just amazing, good gameplay, fire OST, hilarious humor and artstyle, it’s just perfect.

Yo great vid! Yeah man I agree. I enjoy a great challenge but I think in game unlocks are fair game and above all else have fun! I don't really care for glitches and unintended exploits but that's just a personal preference. Ultimately life is hard and whatever way someone enjoys a game shouldn't be looked down on. If I recall, the "reason" MGR is considered non-canon is because it's a "canonical spin-off", meaning that while it does take place in the world of MGS and after MGS4 specifically, the tone and setting are so far removed from the established formula of MGS. Yes, all the characters are canon, and the events of the past are part of the lore, but you can play the entirety of the MGS series and skip this game, and not miss a thing. Doesn't stop me from having a fucking blast on this game, fun as shit and still relevant with all of its references too!

I hate "Tearing away the disguese" this achievement is BROKEN. I had to replay whole game for about three times just to have this achievements, and I'm scared about VR mission now.

Metal Gear Rising is infact canon. For something to be noncanon, it has to conflict with previous installments in the franchise, which Rising doesn't. You say Rising isn't canon because it's a crazy interpretation of the Metal Gear Universe which doesn't make that much sense, example: the parasites in mgsv, Metal Gears in general, the Cobra unit in mgs3, the entirety of mgs4, etc. You say why call Snake when you can call Raiden. Well by 2018, which is when this game takes place, Snake is almost dead by old age. You also say if the military calls Snake if they have a problem which doesn't make sense either. Snake was hired by FOX because of the Patriots to do stealth missions for FOX. He was in the military for some time, however, he gave no loyalty after being hired. Snake did occasional wetwork but he wasn't a dog of war like Venom Snake and Diamond Dogs.
I 100%ed this game, back in the good old days (including all DLC) and it was fun for 95 % of the game. The vr missions were bullshit thou. Mission 18 of the VR missions was the hardest part of this game. Harder than S ranking the story mode on the hardest difficulty. Absolute ballache to get the right spawns. ❤🙏 Finally got it today!
Regarding your camera issue, I played this game for 400+ hours and i didn't face any issue with the camera but i know what is the reason you facing it. I think the deadzone of your controller is broken, to test it go to steam controller configuration.
not only did multiple people tell me they had the same problem with the camera during my live streams but there's even been a fan made mod on the PC version of the game to FIX said camera. this isn't something that's only happening to me, if you didn't have any problems then I guess you're very lucky.
the game is currently not available in any regard on the ps5 console, when I live streamed this game it was on my ps3 original hardware. here's hoping they make the game more accessible one day

I tried to make this clear in the footage but as a content creator that does this for a living I don't always have a massive amount of time to sink into things like that especially when I need to be bouncing from project to project for the good of my channel. If I wasn't a youtuber I would take the time to listen to all of it. This is more about how I make a living than it is being a trophy hunter.
I think you are gonna love monster hunter world it has a ton of fun monsters to fight against with many great move sets and it could be a great plat because that was the first monster made for Xbox and ps4

Of the bosses that I had the hardest time getting a not hit on though, I think it was Jet Sam I had the most trouble for some reason. I loved doing it though. Also, if you listen to the music it's actually all about the character's motivations and the like, fantastical score.

I got PTDS while watching this. MGR platinum is without a doubt the hardest platinum I have gotten to date. And so much of it felt like unfair bullshit, like the VR missions. Still great game tho

even then he could have just used the blade mode wig, which effectively does the same thing
@@joestaenthe blade also allows you to cut enemies in either 1 or 2 hits making most encounters a breeze, the murusama is a decent alternative but the fox blade is crazy

i got all bosses without damage on steam and the cloud function killed my save. Itdoesnt load the sav-data anymore and makes a new vdf instead
For all of the complaints about the camera for example the ones starting at 48:40 if you don't want to lose track of the enemies I'd recommend just using the lock on for it's intended purpose.
Using a gameplay mechanic as a work around for bad functionality doesn't excuse the bad functionality... 😑

also for the part with the sliders when you activate blade mode I'm pretty sure that the camera snaps to wherever Raiden is facing for blade mode.

quick tip use fox blade to one shot normal enemies it's really good even though it cost allot and use murasama blade for boss and you missed the dlc achievement
I can see at least ONE blessing of this game already where they let you go through Dialogue fast.
Some games in normal mode like Skyward sword have ACTUAL Cutscene torture where the dialogue can't be skipped and is even less interesting than this dialogue.

Hey matt there is a game that would be awesome for you to platinum if you havent yet uncharted nathan drake the collection. The reason for this is because this 3 platinum trophies are one of the hardest trophies i have ever gotten i had an easier time getting the plat for elden ring than getting the 3 plats for uncharted. Oh and the extra trophies are horrendous 😂

theres a weapon called the fox blade that costs 100k and it has an upgrade for 500k that lets u 1 slice any enemies except bosses. carried my Stormbringer achievement
That upgrade (fox blade+) costs 100k the sword costs 200k
To upgrade it to the max with all upgrades, it would be around 500k

@@GawdlikeMatt sadly it appears to be PC only at the moment, but there’s rumors of it getting ported, the game isn’t demanding so it would be easy to run on a PC, if you would consider that.

I don't really care for glitches and unintended exploits but that's just a personal preference. Ultimately life is hard and whatever way someone enjoys a game shouldn't be looked down on. If I recall, the "reason" MGR is considered non-canon is because it's a "canonical spin-off", meaning that while it does take place in the world of MGS and after MGS4 specifically, the tone and setting are so far removed from the established formula of MGS. Yes, all the characters are canon, and the events of the past are part of the lore, but you can play the entirety of the MGS series and skip this game, and not miss a thing.
Doesn't stop me from having a fucking blast on this game, fun as shit and still relevant with all of its references too!

Metal Gear Rising is infact canon. For something to be noncanon, it has to conflict with previous installments in the franchise, which Rising doesn't.
You say Rising isn't canon because it's a crazy interpretation of the Metal Gear Universe which doesn't make that much sense, example: the parasites in mgsv, Metal Gears in general, the Cobra unit in mgs3, the entirety of mgs4, etc.
You say why call Snake when you can call Raiden. Well by 2018, which is when this game takes place, Snake is almost dead by old age. You also say if the military calls Snake if they have a problem which doesn't make sense either. Snake was hired by FOX because of the Patriots to do stealth missions for FOX. He was in the military for some time, however, he gave no loyalty after being hired. Snake did occasional wetwork but he wasn't a dog of war like Venom Snake and Diamond Dogs.
I 100%ed this game, back in the good old days (including all DLC) and it was fun for 95 % of the game. The vr missions were bullshit thou. If the videos are still up, you can still find my comments from ten years ago, where I'm venting my frustration about some of the vr missions.

Mission 18 of the VR missions was the hardest part of this game. Harder than S ranking the story mode on the hardest difficulty. Absolute ballache to get the right spawns. ❤🙏 Finally got it today!

Regarding your camera issue, I played this game for 400+ hours and i didn't face any issue with the camera but i know what is the reason you facing it. I think the deadzone of your controller is broken, to test it go to steam controller configuration.
not only did multiple people tell me they had the same problem with the camera during my live streams but there's even been a fan made mod on the PC version of the game to FIX said camera. this isn't something that's only happening to me, if you didn't have any problems then I guess you're very lucky.

the game is currently not available in any regard on the ps5 console, when I live streamed this game it was on my ps3 original hardware. here's hoping they make the game more accessible one day

I tried to make this clear in the footage but as a content creator that does this for a living I don't always have a massive amount of time to sink into things like that especially when I need to be bouncing from project to project for the good of my channel. If I wasn't a youtuber I would take the time to listen to all of it. This is more about how I make a living than it is being a trophy hunter.
I think you are gonna love monster hunter world it has a ton of fun monsters to fight against with many great move sets and it could be a great plat because that was the first monster made for Xbox and ps4
