I also had a '67 GTO when i was 17 (some 45 years ago) but let it go as a dumb kid. i'll sit back and watch what it will become. i've had a stroke on 02/2024 so my building days are over so I love to watch your videos and remember.
Best way to start a Sunday morning is with Merlin & McKay....TY.
One man's junk is another man's treasure.
We all need counseling at times don't we 😁👍
Happy holidays everyone
The lesson here? Never live anywhere that requires you to beg/pay for permission to nail two boards together.
you are so right, unbelievable
Dude, you obviously never have read about the noumerous laws here in Germany! 😂😂😁😁
Yepp, the memes are real here in the land of bureaucracy. It simply is just madness. 😜😜
Great great video Merlin! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
No doubt about it Merlin you need a bigger shop! The brilliant bureaucracy, clear your land to get a permit to use your land! Reagan had 10 words that should strike fear into everyone’s hearts: “I’m from the government and I’m here to help you”! Get out the gear oil…
This is when government should be put in check!
Oh You guys had me chuckling! Rooting around digging that little diesel motor out! Oh boy you guys are so fun! ❤
Fella has some cool and interesting stuff, thanks for the ride along
I was in Pahrump last weekend, scored a sweet 1978 C30 crew cab long bed dually. Then stopped at Cords place for a 70’ Dodge truck.
I enlisted in the Navy in '75 and had my dad get me a car for when I graduated boot camp. He got me a '67 Tempest, 2-door post, 326, auto, black. Loved my first car.
Like the ole Hemi, very interesting 🤔 content.
Mt older brother had the first GTO in La Junta. CO. in 1964. He went to Detroit and drove it home. He always had a need for speed. So, another project to come!
My dad has a 66 gto he traded a 64 impala for back in 1978. Traded a cherry 69 firebird for a wrecked 69 gto judge. Slammed that judge powertrain in the 66 lost his license a couple times then parked it. It's been in the garage for over twenty years now. I've been wanting to tear into with him, but he just got diagnosed with cancer, so he is busy trying to prolong his life. He may even be selling it soon, sad to say. It was always my dream as a kid to build it with him. Praying God gives him more time so we might be able to. Thank you for all you do Merlin, you are an inspiration to many a gear head!
I luvs me a good junkyard tour!!!!
Merlin and Makay, Jason absolutely 💯 Great Day when Merlin goes shopping 🛍
Your GTO IS a Great experience and Memories for All,

When I was hauling oilfield we called them loads Sanford and sons loads
That's one of my favorite towns in Nevada
Looks good for the year
The 5 ton ride was awesome! Now I want one.
Looking forward to the GTO build series. Never seen a hemi in a GTO now that might be something kind of different. Great video Merlin keep em coming!
That's what I was thinking to done set up for gm trans
That is a cool project! My first car was a 1968 Pontiac Catalina. In those days, we could drive around all night for $2 in gas. Can't wait to see what shape your old GTO is in. Nice that it still exists and you know where it is located.
Would loved to have gotten the blue gantry out of the scrap trailer, you got the little Lombardi diesel motor.
That was a treasure trailer. And I still have one gantry left.
@@patinanation4509 I'm on the WI/IL. Stateline east of I-94 too far for me to drive I'm 1.45 minutes north of Chicago Sometimes I wish I wasn't so old and Lived closer to people like You all.
Those Lombardini engines popular in UK for garden tractors/mowing machinery. Q.reliable afaik.
Worked for a municipality and in the 90s and early 00s we had arrow boards with Lombardini engines on them, they became obsolete once solar powered arrow boards came out.
I known a bit about those old hemis it appears to be a 241 as it has blank vavle covers but with out seeing the balancer and flex plate/flywheel and wieghing them its impossible to tell its either a 241 red ram or 276 firedome
If its a 241 the balancer and flexplate as a comob will wieght about 110 ounces not counting the bolts
If it a 276 firedome same parts will be about 94,ozs and even those they look similar cant be swapped without a machine rebalance
Edit i missed the scripted on the vavle covers if those are the original covers it's a 1955 or 56 270 from a truck but if it's Canadian motor all bets are off they did wierd things
Merry Christmas to you and your family...thanks for all your videos. I truly look forward to watching them every Sunday. Can wait to see what you have coming up next year.
That truck is awesome!!!...That "chevelle" is going to be a great project ...Thank you for taking us along-John
that 5 ton with the appropriate wrecker body on it would dominate at morr wrecker games .
You're going to love that manifold on that Hemi Merlin you know it's a torquer
Yeah Baby !
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all
Digging that 5 ton fun. Imagine the possibilities.
Thanks for taking us subscribers along for the ride. What a wonderful find you have gotten Merlin. Hope to see that motor in something soon.👍✌️🤙🤙🍀🍀🍀🍀🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🤪😂🤭😝😋🤗😃❤️❤️🎩🪄🪄🪄.
I have a 51 Henry J that needs a home up here in Oregon that would go great with that little Hemi if interested .
"Knowing" you from your videos, that GOAT will be badass.
AWESOME !
Great job guys. Thank you 😊
Merry Christmas Merlin, Makay.
Lombardini is Kohler's diesel line
🎄✨✨ He Sores! Big time.
Have a Merry Christmas. 🎆🎄
Going to be a good build.😊 Looking forward to it.
Merry Christmas Merlin!
Oh that GTO is going to be a fun build. Can't wait to see the rest of the car that you have been sitting on for so many years. Getting these old hot rods back on the road is honestly a priceless treasure being reborn and can be enjoyed by the younger generation to understand what a true muscle car is all about. Great video and seeing that junkyard and getting his place ready for a fence is going to be a project in its self. Seems like a lot of red tape to develop his property and whom ever complained and is making his life hard i hope they understand they they just made the biggest mistake and he makes them pay for it for many years to come. I'd fence off a section and start raising pigs letting the stenchy smells waft through the rest of the neighborhood to enjoy. Maybe even bringing in a few truckloads of manure! Yes I'm a great neighbor until you show me you're not then game on I can play more games than Milton Bradley could ever put out! Play hard and reap the rewards Karen!
That 923 series brings back memories of me working on those old work horses in the Marines!
Merry Christmas
HAPPY HOLIDAYS MERLIN, YOU LOOK IMPRESSED DRIVING THAT BEAST!!
Thanks man! It is a beast!😎
Neat test mule engine lots of neat stuff
Sweet can't wait to see how the project turns out.
I picked up a military trailered compressor with a 4 cyl lombardini. All it took to get it running was to free up the fuel rack. Interesting air cooled diesel engine. I sold the engine to a sailboat guy and ran the compressor off the 20hp electric motor that was also hooked up.
Looks like a couple of good projects down the road! I'm looking forward to it! Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Catch you on the next. ✌️ 😊
Good video mr merlin. It was fun having you out.
I had a 66 Pontiac 2+2 with the 421HO in it.
The old 241 Red Ram Hemi that is cool they are the smallest of all the first gen Hemi's and built in 53 and 54 Dodge then they had the super red ram that was only made for 55 and that was 270 cu in they are no powerhouse but are very cool looking
It's been forever since I've been to Pahrump. My former boss was friends with Ignatius Piazza and we did some work at Front Sight, but that was about 20 years ago. @6:50... That 454 was interesting. I've never seen blow-off valves in the valve covers. That's a really nice blue swing-set you got there! 😉 I don't know how many engines I pulled, using a swing-set from Sears. Man, you also got a couple of (what look like) MerCruiser outdrives!
Pahrump Nevada, the home of Art Bell and his radio show. It was fun listening to him while working graveyard many years ago.
Loved the adventure Merry Christmas to you and your family
Thanks Merlin for your vid 😇💟💟💟 Love and bless you guys 🙏 good work on picking up some more projects to stall in the yard 😁👍 some great content coming 😄
Another great project. Can’t wait till you Merlin and McKay start. Merry Christmas Merlin, McKay and family 🎄🤙😎
Hey Merlin & McKay !!! Thanks for the ride & Enjoy the ""HOLIDAYS "" !!! 🎄🎄🎄🥳🥳🥳 Of course ,, waiting to see the ""GTO"" project as might take sometime to locate the parts you need !!! 🤔🙄😮💨 Paul will want to race his "" Pontiac "" against Yours for sure !! HAHA
Thanks! Merry Christmas!
I liked seeing how excited you were in the 5 ton! I was in the Army 27 years mostly in maintenance, I felt the same as you were every day I was able to drive military trucks. If you ever get a chance to drive a HEMTT, PLS ETC, TAKE IT! You will really be excited, trust me! I like what you are building and have built, I love seeing your thought process, have a Merry Christmas and a Better New Year!
Good video of McKay and Merlin picking up a '67 GTO body to work with his old GTO to make one good car. Always fun to see what Merlin and his friends are doing today! 😊
That gray generator Is for aircraft power. I’m sure they had a lot of uses, but we use them in the Air Force to power B-52’s until you got the engines running.
Got yourself some great Christmas presents there. Enjoy the presents and Christmas. Thanks for the videos.
You know your a car guy when you can see it in your mind built, that Pontiac an awesome find… 😄
Cool Army truck
Looking forward to the build
Good morning Merlin and Family!! Thank you for another great video!! Merry Christmas!!
My Grandma gave me a cherry, midnight blue 65' GTO at 15 years old in 1984. My high school teachers were so jealous!!
My first car was a '66 GTO. Had a blown engine and some cosmetic issues. Rebuilt the 389 and speed shopped what extras I could afford. Tempests, like your donor car there, and LeMans had some parts I could borrow, as did some Buicks, Chevys and Olds. Such good memories building cars back in the day.
Hell you should get it and put a wrecker on it and you will have the baddest off road tow truck ever and I think that it will go anywhere you need to go to get the job done period Charlie kretschmar Glendale Arizona
Great Move sir! Several of us have wanted to have that first car back or one like it. It will be interesting to watch how you bring yours back to life in the near future. You are living the dream.... You better buy out a neighbor or two to have room to put all this extra stuff. You two kids act like you are in a candy store?😊😊. I would as well.
Score for the both of you. Tell everyone Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Awesome video! Love that Military truck . Thank you for sharing. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS
👍👍👍👍
Merry Christmas guys 🎄

Hello 👋 Merlin McKay and Friends you Always make me Laugh Merlin Thank You very much For that… MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU GUYS AND YOUR FAMILIES 👍❤️✌️💪🏻☮️🎁🎄
I got three Lombardini motors sitting in my barn.
Cool truck
Nice excursion this week! Can’t wait to see what you put together and make use of that motor.
I had a buddy of mine had a 67 convertible GTO. It was a pretty nice car. He went into the service and his brother sold it for a set of wheels for his 62 Impala. Back then 77 they weren't worth the money they are today. I always liked the GTO. Can't wait to see what you do to yours that 5 ton was a pretty cool truck they are beast they were big equipment haulers back when I was in the Army. The Turbos would spool up and whistle I always liked the sound of them we would say if the enemy heard them bad boys coming they would sheet themselves and run.. Take care all Merry Christmas to you you guys and a Happy New year.
Good morning Merlin another cool adventure can't wait to see what you put the hemi in merry Christmas to you and the Crew God bless
That ole Military 5ton does have 50-60mph “AC”…… back in late 80’s while stationed in Yuma AZ …we open the windshield few inches and roll the side windows down, to get that air flow thru the cab on those hot summer days
I haven’t seen Jason for a minute. He still owes me some meatballs. 🤣
I have a Lombardini diesel generator that I resurrected on my channel. Great video!
@merlin my grandma had a 65 gto burgundy 4 speed car she loved it but one day she came home and it was gone turn out her husband she was married to traded it in for a Plymouth satellite and also I’ve been following yr RUclips channel for a while u and ur family have a good Christmas miss seeing u on Vegas rat rods along with Steve Darnell

pahrumpa pum pum ,,wow it's a real place..
When I was in the army I retired after 40 yrs 2015 I worked on those 900 series trucks that truck should have a 5th wheel according from the wheel base we had to remove the trans fluid out and put 10w in the transmission thay are Allisons
Hey, Bill Spencer is my great uncle. I remember seeing his collection of cars as a little kid.
Yes you need the Military truck
I have one of those Lombardini's in my shop. Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet.
The time I saw my parents first Pontiac Tempest, I thought it was a GTO. It wasn’t. It was a 1967 Pontiac Tempest Sport Coupe 2 door post sedan. It was Plumb Mist purple with a black vinyl front bench seat interior. It has the bright window trim package with the lower rocker panel bright molding, but did not have the wheel arch molding. It had the same un segmented taillights as your car does. It came with the 2v 326 Pontiac V8, 2 speed power glide automatic, power steering, manual drum brakes and gear selector on the column. The interior had the gear selector on the column, idiot lights for gauges and a clock in the dash that lasted the life of the car and worked perfectly the whole time. And kept very accurate time. It had those full Pontiac hubcaps and single exhaust. It was a great car. When my younger sister graduated high school, it was given to her. She had it for a number of years after that.
As soon as you said, you needed a bigger trailer, I thought a jaws we need a bigger boat
I'm jealous 😁👍💯😎
I dig Merlin's show just great frigen content✌️🇦🇺🦅
