  • If you're looking for a caramel/toffee that really packs a punch without needing a candy thermometer then look no further. Other than stirring butter and sugar for around five minutes, it doesn't get any easier than this one.
    Here's what you do:
    INGREDIENTS:
    1-2 SLEEVES OF RITZ OR SALTINE CRACKERS
    1 CUP BUTTER
    1 CUP PACKED, LIGHT BROWN SUGAR
    1/2 CUP MILK CHOCOLATE CHIPS OR CHIPS OF YOUR CHOICE
    1/2 CUP MILK CHOCOLATE TOFFEE CHIPS
    1/2 CUP OF CHOPPED PECANS, OR NUTS OF YOUR CHOICE
    DIRECTIONS:
    PREHEAT OVEN TO 350 DEGREES.
    LINE BAKING SHEET WITH FOIL OR PARCHMENT PAPER AND SPRAY THROUGHLY. ADD CRACKERS TO TRAY. MELT BUTTER AND SUGAR OVER MEDIUM HEAT. INCREASE HEAT TO MEDIUM HIGH. BRING MIXTURE TO BOIL AND STIR CONSTANTLY FOR 5 MINUTES UNTIL THICK AND "FROTHY".
    POUR MIXTURE OVER CRACKERS. BAKE FOR 5 MINUTES. REMOVE FROM OVEN SPREAD CHOCOLATE CHIPS, TOFFEE CHIPS AND NUTS OVER CRACKERS. BAKE FOR 3 MINUTES. ALLOW TO COOL. BREAK APART AND ENJOY!
