This washer to me is performing I believe as the TR 7000 or at least I know it has that programming. The reason I make that statement is when you put it on heavy duty medium soil it should be 45 minutes, not 40 mins when you put it on normal Eco it should be 39 minutes not 29 medium soil. They increased the wash times by 10 minutes. That upgrade was in the 7003 they also incorporated some agitation changes. The units from 2018 had those wash times they changed it at the end of 2018 in December with an upgrade to the longer wash periods in response to the bad reviews they were receiving thus improving the performance..
Suggestion, put a piece of electrical tape on the top of the agitator so the action will show up better on screen. Thanks for making the video, I'm probably nearing the point of replacing my Kenmore 70 series model 110. Just replaced the tub seal & I almost have it put back together, but I stopped for a coffee break. Maybe I can milk another 30 years out of it.
I am on my 3rd refrigerator since 2013. I had 2 in a row that leaked all the freon out of the evaporator in 4 years. One was a Frigidaire and the second one was a Whirlpool. The jury is out on this 2 year old GE. They are making total junk these days. I have more faith in a 20 year old appliance lasting another 10 years than I do a brand new one lasting 5 years. But hey, they are saving $10 a year in power.
We have been switching everything over to commercial grade equipment. Commercial freezer, commercial dishwasher. Now looking at a commercial washing machine.
First to be clear I don't get a plug nickel from anyone. I was a service tech and service mgr in a former life at a large appliance dealership selling many brands. In their top loaders SQ makes the TR series and the TC series. TR's use less power, water, quieter and don't beat your clothes to death every wash. This is the machine for 95% of us. Now if you are auto mechanic, plummer, farmer or lawn care service or just got a bunch of dirty kids then the TC series is for you. If you want to see clothes jerked around, twisted and rolled over then the TC is for you. It's a cleaning demon. SQ's are NOT cheap but they are the closest you can get in north America like the Old School Maytags that your parents and grand parents talk about lasting 25 - 30 years. Excuse me, I have to go take a load out of my 34 year old Maytag dryer. Zero repairs in 34 years.
I have been a service tech for 23 years and I have never seen a washer perform this poorly. Why speed queen is still producing this model is unbelievable. Stick with their front load or classic wash.
@@Brownie-tg3nu I bought a Maytag Commercial, the newest model and its agitation and turn over rate is fantastic. Was under $1k w/5 year parts and labor warranty. Sorry Speed Queen. I tried you, had to pass. Maytag Commercial is the new heavy duty working mans washer. I'm not paid a dime for saying the truth.
@@RollYourRock I bought the Maytag Commercial set over a Speed Queen TC set. I like the agitator on the Maytag, it really does alot of work to get your clothes clean. We've had it now 3+ months, do atleast 1 to 3 loads every day. Cycle takes about 30 minutes. Oh its noisy, but I like it, the sound of clean, how it agitates back and forth. Here's a thing most don't say. You could get away with buying the cheapest dryer, could just get a $450 Amana dryer then buy whatever washer you want: Maytag Commercial or Speed Quean. I'd buy the Maytag again. I ordered it online, was free delivery, free removal of old unit, free hooksup, was $2100 delivered and installed direct from Maytag with 5 year parts and labor warranty, didn't even have to leave my home. For me it was a no brainer. If you want to save $500 buy the Amana washer from same maytag site (since its all Whirlpool) and get the set for like $1600. The best for the money, nothing better, home depot sells junk for more!
Just something to note with that style of tub movement, the comforter stays in the exact location, it never gets moved around. My 37 year old Kenmore heavy duty rotates the clothes so they all get a good washing.
What do you think about the newer speed queens? I’m looking at getting a new washer because my Maytag is dying and was looking at speed queens but I have to have one that has all knobs which they do have. What do you think about that type or the very reliable Thanks for any help and also I don’t know the model number of it currently
Maybe if SQ would add a corkscrew agitator, it may have rolled over. I don’t know why SQ refuses to revamp their agitator to a corkscrew, other manufacturers have.
I’m new to washers and your comment is 6 months old…but if the “cleaning” action in TR series is with the “flow through” of the water and not the physical action in a TC, why would the comforter need to rollover to be cleaned? Wouldn’t the action of the flow through achieve the same cleanliness in almost any position?
After more research than I would have liked. All the Speed Queen TR's DO NOT clean well if you have heavy soiled clothing. The agitator is not a real agitator. The clothing only swirls back and forth gently through water. People that need deep cleaning or stain removal are pissed off with this. The only Speed Queen worth buying is the TC5. It's a true dependable power house.....simple looking but very good cleaning.....and fast.
Speed Queen should make a TR9. Same thing as TR7 except more features such as a hot wash warm rinse option, more cycles, suds return, and overflow rinse.
Does this machine error out when the water pressure is too low and the tub takes too long to fill? We have a small water pump and sometimes when we turn on too many things the water pressure is real low. Our "smart" dishwasher will error out and shut down instead of waiting for the tub to fill slowly. I like our old mechanical washer which will just wait for infinity for the tub to fill.
Okay folks, the tr series Does nt roll the clothes over! It operates just like a wash plate washer. A king size comforter doesn't fit in sa top load washer. All the negative comments come from people who don't owe one or don't read the operating instructions. I hsve one brought in2018, when it first came out.no complaints.
Being extremely analytical, I have been researching the differences between these two models. The TR7 moves the water through the fabric to clean which is more gentle on fabrics whereas the TC5 aggressively "rubs" the items together and cleans by friction. Thus, wearing out clothes faster... like an appliance technician said, clothes are like almost everything else in todays environment, "They just don't make them like they used to", everything for the most part are made cheaply. He also said that if you're in the trades, farmer, etc. where your clothes really get dirty, then the TC5 is the way to go. BUT, the TR7 does have the soak option so that will definitely help those heavily soiled clothes. BUT, BUT, also, if you don't mind that your work clothes are NOT spotless but at least clean and you have a family or significant other that wear regular clothes and not rugged (which will out way your work clothes), then get the TR7 as the all rounder. So, the TR7 really does makes more sense when you think about it. All I care is that the clothes gets cleaned. People aren't upset if I have a little dirt stain on my knees or spot on my work shirt... after all, I go from one job site to another and even if my work clothes are spotless at the beginning of my day, the first job may get it dirty anyway. I am more trying to figure out if the TC5 is more reliable in the long run than the TR7... thats really my main dilemma. Just my analytical two cents.
Actually if they would put some small baffles in the tub section it would help move around the clothing but being its a speed queen its definitely top of the line equipment
My nephew has a old speed Queen ( manuel syle *) its still going and working !!!!!! I just bought new washer Defy 8kg Top loader * South African brand it s made in South Africa ! I am in a small space soo its perfect ! .!! If you in a small space buy a portable washer you save soo much money ! Fast food prices add up ! You are correct their !!! I will demo the washer on my channel ❤
Its looks like a very nice quite machine, but I can see that the comforter is too large for its capacity. It’s looks like the machine handles it well, however..if that had been a dirty comforter with stains..there’s no way that gentle swish would have gotten it clean..not with that short cycle. I’d prefer to have more robust action..with maybe shorter cycle. If I was paying the full price of one of these machines..I’d better not be locked out of being able to see whats going on in there.
I've got a speed Queen Tr 7 also. It's probably the greatest machine I've ever owned and I've own quite a few different models but one thing about it. They're signal is absolutely ridiculous. I can hear it even in a room if I'm in the room with the wash machine on the high signal. I can't even hear it when I'm in that room. So my when I got it maybe it was defective but I set it on high and you can barely hear it stand in next to the machine salt but. Other than that you can't beat that equipment. I also have the dryer that's ben very good
The sock was never drawn down into the tub. It basically stayed exactly where you put it. I watched because I’m considering purchase. I have an old SQ super capacity plus which still runs and washes great but the gas dryer has issues and I want a matching pair. The super capacity handles the work I give it - super loads, 2 large blankets at a time etc…. I don’t want to part with it :(
Amazing. Second best wash machine out there for sure. Almost as nice as the new Maytag Commercial with its dual action agitator and high turn over: very cool.
@user-yx5rp4ct1d: HE DETERGENTS are recommended for the TR SERIES SPEED QUEEN WASHERS. If you do use Non-HE DETERGENTS use only 1/2 the manufacturer's recommended amount.
I’m seeing no agitation , that sock should have been pulled down and back up numerous times…they are counting on just water agitation to remove dirt, sorry don’t buy there theory!
I will stay away from Chiense brands!!!!! 😮! I had Hi sense washing machine and fridge and both of them packed up a week apart 8 years later ! Just after lock down !!!!! Midea is sold here in South Africa ! I would choose Defy ( Kic) samsung or Lg appliances 1st ! Midea and Mika and hi sense stay away from !! I think most washer s you cannot get parts for and if its older model !
That sock isn't going to move around with a king size comforter, simply because of the mass of the comforter. If it was a washer full of towels for instance you would see the turn over. I just had this set delivered to my house today. My Samsung Washer gave up and will never buy that make again!
tr7, makeup not coming out of towels, anyone have this issue? wondering if I should've purchased the TC5; I've never had to pretreat towels, always use bleach etc and regular washing without stain removers have always gotten out this makeup :(
I purchased a brand new Speed Queen washer and dryer. I am so disappointed in both of them. The quality is nothing like their older models. I have only had them about a year and I am already having issues with them both!
It doesn't - the only way a top loader can redistribute clothing is by filling with 70 gallons of water, agitate for a few seconds, and then dump all the water. If it didn't get it right, no biggie, it can just guzzle down another bathtub's worth of water to attempt to float things around. Or..... you could tumble the clothes which would not only agitate and turn things over better, but if there was an out of balance issue, it could simply slow down the spin and go back to tumbling, then speed up again. Load balanced in seconds with no water, compared to many minutes and potentially hundreds of gallons of water. There's a reason nowhere else in the developed world will you find a top load washer - the entire design is deeply flawed.
The problem is you cant defeat some basic physical laws... it might "clean" it without damaging the machine, but without ample room the interior folds simply wont neither get as clean as the outside parts nor will they be properly rinsed. I'll wait for the supposed upcoming larger capacity SpeedQueen.
I guess a queen bedspread would be about the same size as a king comforter? I put a cloths pin on the switch on the back of my T3 so it will fill water with the lid open. That is the stupidest thing. I use the water flowing in to rinse my cups.
I have the Speed Queen TR7003, washer and dryer, less than 5 years old. I HATE both of them. Since they last 20 year and we paid a lot of $$$$, I'm stuck with them.
@@mswanson819 My biggest gripes about the washer is that it simply does not clean and I also dislike the lid lock. We are retired seniors, our clothes are barely dirty, yet the "soup" that this machine swishes the clothes back and forth in does not clean effectively. I notice that towels have dingy spots that I did not have when washing in my old front loader. The TR7 just swishes the clothes back and forth in the water, depending on them to rub against each other instead of submerging them and scrubbing them like an agitator would. Washing a TWIN XL comforter in the machine is a joke - it's never fully immersed, so the top just floats above the water level, even when set to a max fill. The dryer sometimes leaves my clothes damp and I have to run a timed cycle on top of the one that just finished. These are not huge loads, either! And, all of those settings and options? Rarely use most of them. I cannot recommend this set of machines.

I would take pretty much any front loader over a top loader without a dual action agitator. It didn't do anything beyond swishing the clothes around. The sock never went under, and the comforter top was never pulled under to get cleaned. Hard pass.

Does the TR7 keep water from the previous wash? I hear water swooshing under the drum when I tried to clean it out.
Why does the agitator and tub need to be fixed together? How is that better?
Its looks like a very nice quite machine, but I can see that the comforter is too large for its capacity.
It’s looks like the machine handles it well, however..if that had been a dirty comforter with stains..there’s no way that gentle swish would have gotten it clean..not with that short cycle.
I’d prefer to have more robust action..with maybe shorter cycle.
If I was paying the full price of one of these machines..I’d better not be locked out of being able to see whats going on in there.
What about eletrolux wahsers, and bosch, and panasonic?
I've got a speed Queen Tr 7 also. It's probably the greatest machine I've ever owned and I've own quite a few different models but one thing about it. They're signal is absolutely ridiculous. I can hear it even in a room if I'm in the room with the wash machine on the high signal. I can't even hear it when I'm in that room. So my when I got it maybe it was defective but I set it on high and you can barely hear it stand in next to the machine salt but. Other than that you can't beat that equipment. I also have the dryer that's ben very good
Do you have the TR7000 or the TR7003? - Thx!🙂
Hey I think you got scammed by Speed Queen cuz I swear that did not wash at all it spins quite fast but washing nothing
You should do heavy duty cycle with medium soil and autofill.
I'm 12mins into the video
Did you put soap/detergent in the machine?
LoL...No, he didn't. Not going to very clean without soap.
I don’t want to part with it :(
Do you have a video about home made detergents?
Thank you ❕ I’m looking for a washer
I have their front loader I love it. Super fast . If I were to get the rod loader I would stick with the regulator agitator one. Not this one
Amazing. Second best wash machine out there for sure. Almost as nice as the new Maytag Commercial with its dual action agitator and high turn over: very cool.
No turnover
Very nice !!!
Are they doing a front load version too?
I’ve had the front loader for years and love it. Build like a tank and very fast
The Speed Queen FR7 washing machine is the front loading version of the TR7.
I don’t understand how you think this is actually cleaning this when it’s not moving the comforter whatsoever
I went with a TR5. According to the ratings it washes much better. From other reviews, the TR's don't wash well.
The TR5 is basically the TR7 with fewer controls. Someone must have confused it with the TC5, which cleans better than the TR series
What kind of detergent did you use?
Let me ask you do you think that is cleaning it because I don’t
Can you use classic (NON-HE) powder detergent with this machine?
@user-yx5rp4ct1d: HE DETERGENTS are recommended for the TR SERIES SPEED QUEEN WASHERS. If you do use Non-HE DETERGENTS use only 1/2 the manufacturer's recommended amount.
I known I went to a dealer he was tell me about GE 4-$999 do you think it’s better than the speed queen tr7
I am planning to buy theTR5, is that ok for a single person? I truly don't like a lot of buttos
nice
I’m seeing no agitation , that sock should have been pulled down and back up numerous times…they are counting on just water agitation to remove dirt, sorry don’t buy there theory!
I think a clothes pin will trip the lid switch in the back
I will stay away from Chiense brands!!!!!
No thanks, because there is no turnover by Agatitna? I preferred that is the best front load rather than a top load.
That sock isn't going to move around with a king size comforter, simply because of the mass of the comforter. If it was a washer full of towels for instance you would see the turn over. I just had this set delivered to my house today. My Samsung Washer gave up and will never buy that make again!
tr7, makeup not coming out of towels, anyone have this issue? wondering if I should've purchased the TC5; I've never had to pretreat towels, always use bleach etc and regular washing without stain removers have always gotten out this makeup :(
I wonder if the lid locks only during spin
No-it locks as soon as the machine is started and stays locked until it shuts off.
I purchased a brand new Speed Queen washer and dryer. I am so disappointed in both of them. The quality is nothing like their older models. I have only had them about a year and I am already having issues with them both!
How does it handle out of balanced loads such as pillows?
Comforters should be washed in Commercial Washers at Laundromats.
Yeah but who cleaned theirs before you did? No thanks.
Salt water in it????
The washing machine is so expensive, it should do king size bedding since the owners who can afford it may have king size beds.
It doesn t even washes well ☠️
The TC5 may not look like a push button marvel but, it washes great !😉
I am leaning toward the TC5, does it take anything in King Size (besides sheets that is)?
I have the Speed Queen TR7003, washer and dryer, less than 5 years old. I HATE both of them.
Since they last 20 year and we paid a lot of $$$$, I'm stuck with them.
Same here! 😡 And mine are not yet a year old.
Can you share why you don’t like the washer?
Midea wanted to buy Electrolux because Electrolux owns some strong premium brands...
Where is the best place to buy these
You won't find SQ at the big box stores. Only available at smaller, independent appliance stores.
The TRs stink. I hate mine. If you buy a Speed Queen, buy the TC5.
@@vivian9803 What model and year TR do you have? - What are your biggest gripes? Thx!🙂
@@RollYourRock I live in a condo, so I was afraid the TC5 would be too noisy for me and the neighbors. For that reason, I bought the TR7 and the matching dryer, the DR7, in May 2023. @@vivian9803 Vivian, thanks so much for your reply! - You've provided great and detailed information here… Very informative and very much appreciated!
That comforter looked bored. I miss old washers.
Way over loaded maybe a tein comforter
Sir, who sells this model Speed Queen?
Smaller, independent appliance stores.
Comforters go to the laundromat. Cost of doing business.
Huebsch TR7104WN in canada
This agitation would not be adequate for me ......... Terrible design !
This proves that you cannot clean a king comforter in this machine.
I would take pretty much any front loader over a top loader without a dual action agitator. It didn't do anything beyond swishing the clothes around. The sock never went under, and the comforter top was never pulled under to get cleaned. Hard pass.
That will not get clean. No room for water to flow through
AGREED! KEEP GOVERNMENT OUT OF OUR LIVES!!!
I noticed that too that the cloth don’t rollover like much older machines and you have to baby it ,agitate it with something while washing.
I have this machine and the companion dryer. The set is not even a year old yet and I HATE them. The machine’s wash action, if you can call it that, is dismal. I should have purchased the TC5 and may cut my losses and do just that. That’s how unhappy I am with this crap.
ill take your tr7 for free
Oh because you’d *never* make a sponsored video.
Everybody's time is worth money, but this video is not sponsored
Good Lord your video is like way too long, dude. Just get to the point.
Respectfully.... control panel much too complicated for a Baltimore City School drop out. 😢
I agree , collage grad. Don't like panels at all, I like simple things.
Not impressed, hard pass.
Garbageeeeeeeee... nexttttt
