- 🇷🇴Are you planning on moving to Romania? Join me for another snippet of life in Romania.
Here is what the prices are at the moment in a typical grocery store. Take a look at what you can get on a 20$ grocery shopping trip.
🐟Mine ended up with a small adventure of releasing a store bought fish into one of our lakes.
🍽For all my foodies out there I also included a 10 minute dinner recipe with a traditional, Romanian twist.

That was very kind of you to save the fish. It's always nice to see stores in other countries and what they cost.
Hats off for releasing the fish❤ love from Indian continent. God bless you.
You are such a lovely, nice and polite lady . I watch your videos just to relax
I loved you setting free the fish - it warmed my heart so, so much!! 🥰🥰❤❤❤🐟🐟🐟 You have a beautiful soul!! 🥰🥰🥰 Love from Finland 🇫🇮💙💙💙
Hei, Salla! I am so glad to hear you enjoyed this 💕
I hope you write a letter to that store asking them to stop selling live fish. If enough people complain they will stop this cruel practice
@@elterrifico9522 I know very well you eat animal products everyday yet complain how your food gets to you.
@@lifeinromania1688 Do you know if that fish is native to Romania? It it's not it will either die in that lake, or if there are others like it dumped by others, become and dangerous invasive species. Never dump live animals in nature without knowing the habitat. In some countries this is a crime. Really stupid thing what you did there. All for your ego. You make yourself feel like a savior, when in reality you cursed that fish and the lake.
I really like your content because 3 to 4 months I go to bucharest romania to my work this is my first time your very helpful for me. Thank you mam from Philippines 🇵🇭😇😊
Hi, Paty, you have no idea how glad I am to hear this information is useful! I hope you will have a good time here. If you have any questions, let me know.
I have a tendency to forward a little fast while watching RUclips videos. I didn't even think of fast forwarding once your video started. Every second of the video was very enjoyable. The color of the food you cooked was very nice, I'm sure it tasted great. The biggest love in the video was "releasing the fish in the river water". The respect for you has increased a lot. Enjoy the time and take care of yourself. Lots of respect and love from far away Bangladesh🇧🇩.
Hi, Tushar! Really glad you enjoyed it 🤗
Welcome to Romania!! Lots of people moving out!!!
🐠🙈 Oh, the fish is freedom. You have a compassionate heart and you act according to what your heart tells you, which is better than any outward beauty. Stay like that.
Your dinner looked yummy. Thank you for taking us on a grocery trip. Interesting to see the difference between US and Romania stores. Can't wait for the next video. Stay safe and healthy.
Hi, Curtis. I am really really glad you enjoyed. Doing my best to keep everyone safe and healthy with everything going on. Have a beautiful day! xo
You should never release live fish from pet store or food stores in wild. These can mess up really bad with local animals and underwater plants. Doesn’t matter that fish is a carp that also live in Romanian waters it’s still can bring parasites and diseases and inbreed with wild fish. Rest of the video is very informative and please continue to show our country .❤
I was just in there today ! Your videos are fantastic btw - keep going ! Today I’m going to Piata Obor for the first time …. 💙from England
I hope you are enjoying Bucharest! 🤗
Thank you for saving the fishy❤️
Very informative video 💗 thanks for sharing 🔥❤ your so kind💗 such an awesome human being ❤ you gave life to that fish ❤ god bless you
That was one lucky fish.
He really was!
That’s a salt water fish. That fish will die in that water
U have a beautiful soul!🤩🤩😇😇🌌🌌 U made my day!🤩🤩😇🌌
You are so kind, as always.
Wow. Buying fish from another person and setting it free. Amazing!
I am glad you enjoyed it. So nice meeting you today, Iryna!
Hi my friend. I started to your channel for the first time.
I cried when you released that 🐟
Moving to Romania v helpful vlog
Was fun to see your grocery shopping and the prices - very similar to here in South Africa! Looking forward to your next video soon 🙂
Hi! Such a beautiful country you live in. I saw some videos about South Africa and the scenery is beautiful. Not to mention those adorable penguins!
@@lifeinromania1688 Yessss I live there in Cape Town and sometimes run past that penguin colony! I loved my one short visit to Bucharest a few years ago. Hopefully can visit again and see more of Romania when things get back to "normal" 🙂
@@adeno3 don't think I could handle the level of "adorableness" seeing them 😄. Also, glad to hear you had a good time here and hopefully you'll be back.
Thanks for sharing. Overall prices are lower than they are in Canada. Why are the labels in English and not Romanian? Thank you being a true humanitarian for rescuing the fish. Very commendable!
Norm from Montreal Canada.
Hi, Norman! Do you mean the prices or descriptions? The prices on the shelves are in Romanian currency and I just added them in U.S. dollars because I thought it would be easier for everyone to see the amounts as the dollar is a bit more international. 🥰
If I'm not mistaken, in the EU, the labels must be both in the local language, and in an "international language" like English.
I was referring to the item descriptions. Thanks
@@normankairns2583 Can you believe this is actually the first time I have noticed this? 😄 I am somehow so used to the English language that until you pointed this out I hadn't realized this and it's a very good question. I will look it up. But I can tell you one thing: international brands do have descriptions in English and on the back you will find all the information (ingredients) in Romanian as well. While Romanian products will have a Romanian description (take the mustard jar as an example, for instance)
Your dinner looks good, cute dog too
Hi, Joseph! Thank you. Will let him know 😁🐕
Very grearfull information thenk you so mach from Bangladesh
Hi! I am glad to hear you enjoyed the video! 🤗
I donated and help a penpal today and sent her 92 Romanian Lei. This video open my eyes even further
This is Orhideea Shopping Centre in Bucharest, Romania.
Ha! I love that pooch. 🐶
He's the best!
Yeah, we have that Kerrygold butter in America too. I saw online once that it was rated highly, and went out of my way to find it in a higher-end grocery store. It is expensive, but good!
Hi and welcome! Yes, it's delicious. Still my go to when I buy butter from large grocery stores
I don't know why,but 13 miutes of domesticity completely relaxes me :) Thanks..
Hey, Adrian! I'm really glad to hear that. I also really enjoy this type of videos. I love seeing people in their element ☺️
Hi I'm from Sri Lanka.
I will come to Romania soon for working.
Thi video is very useful for us....
I am really happy to hear that! I hope you will have a good time here. In my next video I will focus more on expenses for people living in Bucharest - like rent, utilities etc. Have a lovely day!
that was very kind of you, to let that poor fish, to get back home to his family, out in the ocean, he thought he would never get home, thank you for a kind heart, yes i'm romanian...marius(punk rules).
Ma bucur ca ti-a placut! Thank you for watching!
Nice ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hey, thanks for the video it was informative, I want to ask, at least how much a monthly grocery can cost?
Hi! To tell you the truth I am not sure at the moment as the prices keep rising a lot.
Love your Channel!! Do you think foreigner students studying master have chance to work alongside work? Many people say there aren't job opportunities for students
❤❤❤❤
Did I miss the price of bere?
Bună! Have you done a video on just feminine products, hygiene and other stuff for women that is sold in Romania on your channel? I am curious. 🙂 Also, why do you say that you are a bad cook? Are people judging your cooking skills? Are Romanians judging your cooking skills? (I can relate.) Nice video, by the way! I am a new subscriber! 🙂
I miss you sis
Carrefour is all over the world i think.
Seen this in dubai also.
I love to hear about things we have in common in different countries ☺
I just read that they launched the first Carrefour with 100% self-service in Dubai. SO cool

Living in the US and considering moving Back to RO
Hi, Penelope. Have you lived here before?
You'll probably save money if you buy the off brands or generic.
That's definitely a good point. I also sometimes like to buy things at Lidl which is a cheaper supermarket overall
@@lifeinromania1688 Do you have old buildings where you live? Maybe you could video them.
Beautiful and nice video how to get you phone
Very informative. Thanks. Are you visiting Romania or have moved already for long term?
Hi! I am from here.
@@lifeinromania1688 Great, but you have a good English accent so I thought If you were an expat hehe. Could you please make a detailed vlog on how to live as an expat in Romania from Asian countries especially Pakistan. In terns of expenses, work(Information technology, software) and residence permits. That would be a lot of help. Thank you, and subscribed!
Strange food, never saw it before, but the main thing is, that it tastes good. Prices are very different to Germany. Toilet paper is half the price for you, but toothpaste, costs the tripple price.
Ah, wow, that seems like a big difference. There are some toothpaste brands here that are cheaper but I chose Colgate because I thought it was a bit more international 😊
@@lifeinromania1688 I use Paradontax. Its recommended by my dentist ;)
*Was machst Du noch , in Bananenrepublik Deutschaland ? Ich schon seit viele Jahre weg !!*

Thank you, glad you enjoyed!
Yes really nice 👍
Are muslim student girl can work in romania ?? Please make a vlog on this topic and what are these?
Thanks for sharing this information. What kind of camera are you using?
I am filming using my phone. I don't have a camera unfortunately. It is a Samsung Galaxy s20.
@@lifeinromania1688 you're doing well, you're doing well, I loved the way you photograph
Name of the grocery store? going to romania in June
It is called Carrefour. Have a good time in Romania
Thank you@@lifeinromania1688
hi are you freelancer?
👏❤️👍
Surprising video! The prices are about the same like in Austria 😳
Hi! Yes, Romania is a strange combination when it comes to prices and economy. A lot to be said about all of this. Small salaries, expensive food, rather expensive real estate and so on. Plus, since the war started the prices went up more than 20% for most products.
That is bad! We don't have the salaries from Austria

Are you permanent resident of Romania?
Hi! Yes, born and raised here
@@lifeinromania1688 Can you tell me more about Information Technology sector of Romania. We are from Nepal and want to open software company in Bucharest.
Do you realise that the fish might not survive since is for sure not his natural habitat? 🤦♀️
