Fantastic review! One thing I have missed that I think Sony got right on the Sony Tablet S, was it had a the shape of a book. Very easy to handle and control.

Bought this based on this and a few other reviews. The only issue I've seen so far is that there is a lag in response to the screen when it's touched. Sometimes there is no response at all. The speakers also have a very tinny sound to them. Other than that, the screen is very crisp and the overall experience is good.
I have a Sony Experia Z, which I love. However, I am thinking seriously about getting the Sony Experia Z2, so this review was great. I just love the sleekness of Sony products.

The bezel and resolution critics have no clue and of course didn't ever try out the tablet longer than a few minutes in a store, because otherwise they would know that a) the bezel is a real asset in handling (the typical handling of this device IS different than with other tablets!) and b) that the lower resolution in comparison to some other devices is absolutely no disadvantage and easily sharp enough. (And I have a N7 2013 also, so I have the comparison.)
Nice review indeed . I already have this Wifi model SPG511 tablet Z2 and Z2 smartphone aswell and believe me, this is the ultimate combo 8). Love those Xperia devices.

I don't know if other manufacturers do it too. 2. Multitasking ability through the "small apps" in the multitasking menu. You can enable *any* widget as a floating window app from there and then control them from the notification shade and drag them to the side of the screen to minimise. 3. "Knock on" function. The cameras tends to do a great job in bad light with the algorithmic mojo. Gets me lots of cat pics.
Just bought one today, I love it! Unlike the Ipads if I ever run out of space I can just buy a new memory chip and upgrade it to a 128 GB or whatever I want! Also the warranty is a lot cheaper and covers more than apple products! It's sleek and fast and all around gorgeous! Couldn't have bought a better tablet!
I have had multiple Sony Ericsson cell phones & liked them all. I personally have always had good luck with Sony products in general. I'm using an older model Xperia now even that I still love even though it is outdated of course there are some limitations but more pluses. I will scope out this tablet asap. Thanks!
Right now I have the Sony Xperia ZR and love it! I have had difficulty with the Google Play services app draining too much battery, but that was reduced by using the powersave features and the Oualecomm BatteryGuru app. It does overheat and I have experienced the reboot issue when I leave the phone inactive for too long on my data... But I love the phone and figured out some ways around it. Every phone has its quirks, but so far I am very impressed with Sony. Normally I like stock Android, but the Xperia UI is still really nice! I actually like it better! The camera has been the best one I've used so far...
I sold all my APPLE gadgets to get this Xperia Z2 Tablet............... I was blown away literally. It's the best tablet you could possibly own out there so far this year as of the date 14/06/2014 If you're thinking to get one... There is an amazing, simple, but extremely capable drawing program called "AutoDesk Sketch Pro", there are a great selection of working at max speed emulators, including the Nintendo DS... The camera is incredible... There is nothing not to like about this, and other than Win 8, you really can't tell that much of a difference from the Microsoft Surface Pro 2 even when using... This has put me off Apple products ever again, because I hated the Apple store anyway. DON'T think about getting this tablet.... DO IT! It's flawless... :) PC world £359 and at full retail, it's worth every penny.
You forget the option to use it as a mobile. On the top of the tablet are not only the USB Charging slot and the slot for an microSD Card. There is a slot for using an SIM-card - for using the mobile phone option or to have Internet outdoors - too. Greets from Utrecht (Nederland)

I think the z2 tablet is nice and u are right about the bezels it makes the tablet easier to hold I think sony is doing a great job. Hi Joshua, you should review the Asus Padfone Infinity A86 with its tablet. I bought it and fell in love with it when travelling to Taiwan and bought it. As a phone it is really good and can compare to the HTC One (except for sound quality) and, as a tablet it is also really good work the added bonus of having only one phone contact and having a synchronised phone and tablet with the same data ... OK it is partially the same device but it is very convenient to have that for a single person use.
***** Imagine yourself in their position. You'd want to play safe, something that's mainstream - has widespread recognition yet has some cred. You have to understand they want to appeal to an audience that is as wide as possible. Any factor that can increase sales or at the very least don't deter customers is preferred. If they had the guts to promote Kanye West - New Slaves and I'd need a tablet it would be a positive factor for me. Though I'm in the minority.
This honestly have noting to do with the Sony Z2 tablet, but i have a PSP 1000 model.... which Sony obviouosly made, and its was released like 2006 and i still have it up TOO this day.. like it looks very in good condition. They really know how to use their products with good material, unlike Samsung which specialize in plastic but it seems like they are mastering the use of it from the looks of their leather backs on their recent phones or tablets but yeah Sony is really a good company!
Me too :-) got the LTE version for a very good price in Germany .. 29EUR 1 time fee and pay 11EUR each month for 2 years .. 5GB mobile-data included .. should be okay.
It's mainly the lack of tablet optimised apps on android that keeps me using ipad, although some of these androids tablets look really nice the scaled up phone apps for android tablet are poor looking compared to the ipad ones.

great tablet but the panel is too thick so it kills tablets beautiness always.pls try to thin it out into half of this tab's panel in sony's next coming tab. we still looking forward a great design with this great brand.thank you.
You...could buy that or.....you can just get a Surface 3 running Windows with an android emulator with more space, better camera, better (and bigger) screen and a faster CPU all for the same (somewhat) price. Or if you really don't want any flaws that emulators tend to have. You can you know duel boot it if you want. Take a moment to think about it... It makes MUCH more sense right?
Just got my Z2 tablet on the 5/5/14. Best present I bought myself in... well too long. 3 days later it's broken. I fell asleep with it in my lap and woke up with my recliner unable to close. Tablet way wedged in and completely ruined. screen, edges, back all damaged. still turns on but can not use the screen. saddest day of my life.

solid tablet still using in 2017, could probably count with my hands and toes how many times I've experienced lag in this, it's always fast

Hell I'm still using the Xperia play 4 G & the only cons are the
gingerbread OS and not enough internal memory but I do have a 32G SD card.
