- The number of individuals arrested by police in connection with recent riots and disturbances has now exceeded 900.
According to a spokesperson for the National Police Chiefs' Council (NPCC), a total of 927 arrests have been made, with 466 individuals charged across the country.
The figures were released as the Director of Public Prosecutions issued a stern warning to the most serious offenders, stating they could face up to ten years in prison.
Stephen Parkinson, head of the Crown Prosecution Service, indicated that the number of cases being brought to court is expected to increase, with more serious charges carrying harsher penalties.
The offence of riot is defined under the Public Order Act 1986, which replaced the previous common law offence.
Jeremy Kyle speaks with former Met detective Peter Bleksley and takes calls from Peter and David in Essex and Mark in Carlisle.

Ive worked and volunteered for my hometown for the last 20 years, I've been told due to the influx of immigration, the plan for where i go with my mental disabilities is that I'm likely to end up on the streets because social housing lists are now that full that i need to wait 800 years to get a house, if i try saving up for a house on minimum wage 30 hours a week, the cheapest house in my home town is now £235,000 when last year it was £45,000 because the demand for housing has gone up, if i rent i need to earn triple my current wage just to cover rent and if I do get into social housing, I've been told not to unpack because someone from overseas will get priority. I cant even buy land because if i try buying a small plot of land for £6,000 just big enough to put a shed on, I've been told because I'm not a farmer the council will just claim it as theirs and build on it without paying. The entire country has been screwed by the current government.

I am a 38yo British F, travelled the world for a few years, when I returned I was denied access to NHS services, I had to pay as a private patient. I didn’t and therefore they refused to give me test results. I had severe PTSD following leaving an extremely abusive relationship in the US.
I was denied my tax refund as I wasn’t in the country.
I’m now being chased to pay back my student loan, which I don’t even have documentation for, and didn’t know existed, and now been denied access to the documents, unless I provide my current location.
I wouldn’t move back to the UK because it’s now too dangerous.
I have the utmost respect for immigrants who cross the border correctly. My 73 yo uncle is an Iranian immigrant of the 70’s, and worked his whole like in the UK as a pharmaceutical engineer.
But the UK can not keep pushing aside its citizens to give illegal immigrants everything.
How does a person not remember they borrowed a fortune from student finance?? 🎻
