ECO BRICK HOUSE MADE OF PLASTIC BOTTLES! How to put trash into a house!?

  • Catherine Ruth who runs the Bamboo School Orphanage spends puts her spare time into building an amazng Eco-brick house. Each Eco-brick is made up of 8 plastic bottles, which have plastic bags stuffed into them.
    This amazing house is an experiment, with kids from all ages at the orphanage taking part in some part of the construction process.
    Here we take a look at this amazing which is soon going to be a place for the kids to spend some play time at!

    If you used earthen plaster which is breathable would it make the house toxic?

      Surely not. But cud you describe the earthen plaster?

      @@OurLand plaster made from soil and very finely chopped straw. Can cover with tapioca glue if you like or. Just using lime, sand and some sifted clay for color will also give a waterproof plaster.

    What type of glue is used to hold the bottles together?

      mostly PET i guess

      hi Natalie. catherine here used Pattex 60L. We just checked with her, she said that 60L is the best one that works apparently other ones dont stick as well. hope that helps.

    Can you put electricity in such a house??

      Yes this house has electeicity in it. Putting electricity has nothing to do with the construnction of the house, as long as the wires and connection point are well insulated.

      Do you here in Zambia I have never heard about anyone building a house with eco-bricks, so I need to learn more about these beautiful projects, as I want to be the first to build such houses in Zambia, Africa
