I miss the variety of shoe brands in the 80s (and 70s) NFL. Today it's Nike Nike Nike Nike Nike Nike Nike Nike ... And though Nikes are great there's zero room for originality today. I noticed Munoz sporting some sweet PONY turf shoes. Back then players wore Adidas, Converse, Puma, Mizuno, Nike, Pony, Kangaroos, Brooks, Diadora, Fila and several others. VARIETY ... Sick of the ALL NIKE league today. Look at Marcus Allen in the '83 Superbowl... Sweet Pumas. Early 80s Marino with Ponys I miss that. Fuk monopoly.
It's a horrible what happened to Lyle Alzado. He gave everything (LITERALLY) to the sport. "I started taking anabolic steroids in 1969 and never stopped. It was addicting, mentally addicting. Now I'm sick, and I'm scared. Ninety percent of the athletes I know are on the stuff. We're not born to be 300 lb (140 kg) or jump 30 ft (9.1 m). But all the time I was taking steroids, I knew they were making me play better. I became very violent on the field and off it. I did things only crazy people do. Once a guy sideswiped my car and I beat the hell out of him. Now look at me. My hair's gone, I wobble when I walk and have to hold on to someone for support, and I have trouble remembering things. My last wish? That no one else ever dies this way."

Lyle Alzado went to Yankton College in South Dakota. Ken Anderson went to Augastana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The two Colleges are less than 40 minutes from each other. Wondering if them two ever played each other in College?
Respect. I'm a Bengal fan and Munoz fan but Lyle is a monster
People need to see what Lyle Alzado said at his end of his career
You can see Lester with his Judgemental stance 🔥🔥🔥
Lyle was a POWERHOUSE he wasn't weak at all!!!
AS king Neptune said "the battle will be legendary"
Awesome footage, Lyle was the man.
Three Mile Lyle.
Alzado always knew how to pick his enemies every week
Cool clip! Lyle was insane!
Alzado all day Long! Alway's my favorite Raider! Rip Lyle
R.I.P. Lyle Alzado i loved seeing him play , he was a demon who had heart till his past caught up to him with steroid use and cancer took him. I remember his super bowl game the raiders went as a wildcard team .
Steroids don't cause T-cell lymphoma.
1980 was the wildcard year. 83 they won the division.
No the Raiders won the Division or thinking the 1980 season
Back when i loved the game.
Not so much anymore
Very sad
Marv Albert with the call. Who knew he was wearing women’s panties that day.
Yess!
Both were Raiders. Raiders need to honor both of these great athletes.
Broken neck: it's whiplash
Broken ribs: it's whiplash
Broken back: it's whiplash
Concussion: it's whiplash
Back when men was men and sheep wasn't scared.
Heard crazy stories about this Alzado dude
Munoz is older than myself but he grew up in my neighborhood and we went to the same high school. I never heard about him coming back though, maybe because we were too barrio LOL
Early 80s Marino with Ponys
I miss that. Fuk monopoly.
Alzado was a beast !
The only AFC team to win a Super Bowl in the ‘80s. And they won two of them.
Commitment to excellence.
The color commentator says “Emerge as best in AFL,” at 27 second mark. Old school for sure.
awesome dude, cool concept.
The Raiders has a great D-Line that year. Long, Alzado, Townsend and Pickel.
Two great players, Alzado and Munoz.
They both had their moments.
Alzados beast mode button never shut off
Munoz was one of the greats. That was a fierce battle.
Today's football players are way bigger and stronger than the guys in the 70's and 80's. Imagine if they could legally hit qb's now like they did back then?
Amen to that
