That's why they're doing well and is an amazing company, Clean planes and great service. Of course South Africa specializes in breaking things that work. Ideology breaks everything. There is a reason why Safair has so much market share. And typical of South Africa, we do not allow anyone to do well.
So SAFAIR is being persecuted for running their business smartly? Laws should be there to help business grow not hamper them. Support SAA corrution and mess with SAFAIR that works???? BS!!
Safair and Airlink are very well run RELIABLE airlines and a credit to the country. I see no logic in this man’s argument. Should a shareholder wish to benefit from cheaper capital funding sourced from abroad, that investor is then exposed to significant fx risk. Any depreciation of the zar makes their investment worth less in the international currency- perhaps outweighing the cheaper cost of funds. There is no free lunch and unfair advantage as Mr vd molen is suggesting. Perhaps he ought to follow that funding route as well.
It would be sad to see @FlySAFAir lose its license as @Cemair & @Lyft is unreliable & not to safety standards. Is this a strategy to get @FlySAA back as the dominant airline?
I took a flight from Lubumbashi on SAA yesterday. My normal flights were with Airlink before on the Embraer jet, which is fairly uncomfortable, even in "business class". Yesterday's flight was in an Airbus with a nicer business class seat and vastly superior catering...I was very surprised that the SAA offering was USD 800 cheaper than the Airlink (approximately 60% of the price.... I suspect that this must be subsidized though and will not be sustainable longer term....
Miles has been around for a long time. And more transparent than any other airliner CEO. Heck, can you even recall one other domestic airliner CEO by name (without searching on internet)?

Why can any other company have ownership, majority, from abroad and not an airline which delivers exceptional service.
I agree let them fly-they do a wonderful job in SA- ITS "SOUR GRAPES" BY OTHER AIRLINES INCLUDING saa
Safair is the only airline I use or anyone in my company

Yes I think it is. I am a very frequent flyer and only use Flysafair. Never had any problems, great service, pilots
Perhaps ask SAA the many questions relating to them!
Hi hope to fly for him 1 day

Safair has been flying since the 60’s , so when along the way did things change and why now and not earlier are they being challenged?
The culture of palm greasing in South Africa goes back a long way.
Someone wants to put their hand into Safair's cookie jar.
cemair, best airline... let the sheeple fly cattle class
Is there a safty issue if not what the hell. Give the employees the benefit of a job. Jealousy makes the useless nasty.
Volatility as an investment Airlines are subject to energy fuel cost shocks.
What does the word "existential" really mean??
I don't trust this guy
