you're not concerned about the inside of the glass not being food safe? Also I'm pretty sure they fill in between the glass with argon gas. Love your thoughts on this. great job it looks really nice.
Little one stealing your tools already 🤣
Great project!
🤣 jup, he started quickly :)
Thanks 🙏
Awesome work love it!
Thanks Paul :)
Love the finger push sticks. ❤️
🙈
love it
Thanks :)
Didn't see you rinse the glass shards out of the block before you filled it; hope you did. Glad the little kid stole your drill. Serves you right for not using ear or eye protection!
No worries :) I did rinse the bottle :)
Yap… working protection isn’t my strong point…
Great idea! I actually have a couple of square glass so I would like to try to make one or two dispensers. Where have you found the valve and the faucet ? and have you put some silicone when you've inserted the glass in the square wood to keep it in place ? keep up the good work ;)
Thanks :)
You can find it on amazon or ebay quite cheap :)
No, the wooden structure is very tight and the faucet are preventing glass to fall out :)
Trying to build this and every time the glass block cracks from the spigot hole LONG AFTER IT IS ASSEMBLED.... sitting for hours and hours just fine and the next morning it's cracked. @Wood Euphony Woodworking did that ever happen to you and what's the solution?
Hi :)
I didn’t have problems with that…
But I did have the problems with silicone :) some silicone don’t bond quite well with glass…
@@woodeuphonywoodworking thanks for the quick answer, Glass Block #9 actually turned out 😲- I think the Problem was that i drilled too close to the corner and by sacrificing some of the volume in the very bottom and place the spigot a little higher the glass stayed stable. I did not like the Silicone solution either and instead drilled a 1.5 Inch fill hole, which allowed me to reach in with some long needle nose plyers and mount the spigot with the included silicone seals, chrome grommets and nut. I used a black rubber stopper from Home Depot as a stopper and it looks okay.
Uu nice… I will try it with your idea with the silicon seal… maybe will be better than my original idea… thanks :)
any reccommendations for a stronger bond than silicone?@@woodeuphonywoodworking
Want did you use to fix spigot to the glass and want cork did you use thanks
Hi Chris :)
So I fix the spigot with silicon glue.
I used a metal cork with rubber around where it meets the glass.
Could you tell me the dimensions of the pieces you used or even just the glass piece you built around? My buddy is trying to make one of these so I was going to get him a really nice cut of wood for the project as a birthday present.
My dimensions won’t be any good. Each glass block is custom fitted because they aren’t perfect square.
Nice, I did a video on this too
Post the link. I would like to see :)
What is keeping the glass block from sliding out of the front or back of the wood frame?
A very snug fit :D
How do you clean the glass box after drilling hole in it? It might have glass dust in it
I didn’t show but I did clean it with soap and water :)
Is there air pressure in the block? Do i have to pay special attention when drilling inside?
Hi :)
No there isn’t pressure in it… just make sure that you don’t press to hard and that you add a water to the drilling spot.
@@woodeuphonywoodworking Thanks
How did you install the spigot ?
Hi.
I did drill a simple whole with diamond drill :)
Mmmmmm. Glaaa shards in my whisky is the best. How’d you make sure it was clean? This is great work. I’ll be using your design for my own.
I just don’t know how to remove all the glass
Hi :)
I didn’t show it but I did wash 10 times before gluing the valve :) there vast big glass pieces in beside 2 small circles … only white glass powder… when you drill don’t push to hard….
@@woodeuphonywoodworking thanks for the advice! That makes more sense with the whole glass dust. I’ll keep that in mind
@@gmeister03 no problem :)
If you have any questions just ask me , I’m glad if I can help :)
Be safe!
Where do you get your blocks from
You can ordered in amazon or eBay… I buy it in building store where have a cement and other building material…
Is that a 6x6 block
Correct 👍
Can you please share a link for the taps?
You have on amazon. They have many varieties…
How do line up the hole in the wood exactly with the hole in the glass for the plug?
First you drill in the wood then you insert glass block and mark where you must dril with the diamond drill… easy peasy :)
@@woodeuphonywoodworking ty makes sense. Probably dumb question. Ty again
No questions is dumb :) no problem, it’s my pleasure :)
@@woodeuphonywoodworking ty, Merry Christmas to you and your family
@@ald.3449 ty and same to you and your family:) happy holidays!
Any research done to assure glass block is lead free?
glass does not emit harmful substances, only when we drill into it.
How do I remove the two drilled glass pieces inside the block? 🤔
With help of the water :) it’s much easier:)
Where did you get the glass block?
Hi.
I did buy it in hardware store.
Very nice job, in fact, I think he does it. But I'm not going to make the mistake that this gentleman has made, of giving his son a screwdriver and manipulating a toxic element in front of him
Thanks 🙏
But I don’t know what toxic element you mean?
