Notification bell gang!! I apologize for the late post, let me know if this video was helpful!!
Great set up! Having trouble finding that 12v max current cable. I looked on eBay but no luck. Are you still finding them or using something different to hook up your 12v accessories?
@@wcfrog1 amzn.to/3fM4Odk I started using this with zero issues. I think they stopped making the max output
I’ve watched hundreds of videos of van builds and do appreciate yours also. You explain in detail better than most. Thank you. My dream is to build my own camper van and these videos will be very helpful.
@@BethRichards-b6s that’s very nice! Thank you. I believe in you!
You don't need the max output cable for the x series goal zeros. That cord is actually made for the non x series (i.e. 3000 vs 3000x). The HPP output on the 3000x is 30 amps alone so should handle most 12v loads on the fuse block.
Really enjoy your videos. Just wanted to give you a heads up.
Thanks for the info Dustin!
You are so very good at explaining and teaching. Very refreshing after getting frustrated on some others! 👌
@@yvonnecooper368 thank you :)
I have the Jackery 2000 that is going to go in my van build, but your explanation of the electrical system will work for me. Thanks for making it easier on me to build my van. You have done all the research and know what works and what doesn't. That frees me up to start my build.
Haven’t commented before - but anything to help! Great builds. Love following and looking forward to seeing more. Thanks for sharing!!
That’s awesome!! Thanks! :)
Thanks. I just bought a dodge sprinter. Starting my conversion with ur help
Thank you for all your videos. I really appreciate how you go in depth with your explanation/installation! :)
Thanks for your kind words heather!!
Looking good. Getting into the wiring next week and trying to clean up trim pieces, so great timing.
Perfect!!
Thanks for your help brother, let's get you in the van builders top vids!
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
I am starting my first van build. Your videos are hands down the best out there. I appreciate you and the educational videos you put out! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Epic!!! Thanks Rob! Good luck!
The depth of the windows is looking like nothing I've seen before. I love it. Very stylish.
Thanks Todd!
I’ve been so stress about electrical and this video help so much
Just ordered a Goal Zero 1500X for my motovan build. Your setup definitely helps clarify some of the wiring direction. Well done!
Awesome!!! Congrats and good luck
You are literally the MOST helpful RUclipsr when it comes to vanlife. Every time I can’t find answer to something, you happen to have the video that explains it. THANK YOU for your concise explanations to the many details involving these builds. You don’t miss a beat and i appreciate your videos so much!!! 🙏🏼
You’re so welcome :) thanks for the kind words!
Thanks for doing these dude, its helping me to plant build 2 vans!!!
Yeah buddy!
SOO helpful. i’m using a goal zero sort of just loosely in my van. want to start running some permanent wiring. wasn’t sure how to use/wire a fuse block
The new build is coming out great dude! Love it!
Thanks Homie!! hope youre enjoying your new rig!
Love seein my favorite RUclipsr!☺️
😘😘😘
your intro beat is so fire
Thanks for all the INFO.
Thank you for your video, we all appreciate you for teaching us.
You’re welcome
Thank you for posting brother. Looking good looking good. 👍
Thanks Michael :)
I just started watching some of your videos tonight and glad I did. They’ve answered a lot of questions I’ve had about the whole process. I’m doing a horse trailer with living quarters similar to what you’re doing with the vans, using 12v and 110 with some EcoFlow products. I would also like to add shore power and be able to switch between the two. Thanks for your help! Just curious about what was plugged into the 110 on your generator.
THANK YOU!I have been wondering if my Pecron power station could be configured to power my little house on wheels!
Thank you so much for this one man! Helps a lot!
Good! Glad it helps!
Nice, coming along quickly!
Yes sir!!
Nice video! I think the 10amp output is fairly common for similar units, but on the GoalZero it is 15amp output which is pretty nice!
Yeah it is!
Thanks for sharing/teaching
I like the solar gen hook up.
🤘🏻🤘🏻
Super helpful as always!
You’re welcome :)
Awesome video very informative!!
Thanks Jake!
This video is cool thanks for sharing!
You’re welcome!
Keep up the great work
Thanks, will do!
Another great video!
Thank you!
Good video, well done on the van
Glad you enjoyed it
Great ceiling
What are your preferred puck lights? Your videos are great; straight forward and no BS small talk 👍
I do! amzn.to/3t5mmEM
Thanks for great way to explain
You’re welcome!!
More great info!
Great information
Found product list thanks
Like the electric hookup. I need that too. No propane for me.
I’m with ya on the no propane Gang lol
Great videos Coulton. Did you set up shore power for your transit build?
Looks good....James
Thanks James!
You described hooking up your solar panels in Parellel. Shouldn't they be in series? I think they would start charging alot faster. You would have 400 watts .24? volts and about 32 amps. In parallels you have 12 volts 200 watts and alot more amps[current].Let me know because I am going to do about the same thing. I think it would be easier on the internal MPPT in your yeti.
It’s lookn’ good! 👊🏼👍🏼
Thanks my dude 🤘🏻
Nice!
Your definitely appreciated
I appreciate that
Where did you purchase those interior window casings at? I’m having a hard time finding them, thanks!
I'm curious why you had to cut the end of the GoalZero max output cable? In the description picture it looks like you can just insert the positive and negative ends directly into the female end of the max output cable. Was there a specific reason why you cut it and butt spliced it together instead?
I’ve been looking at solar panels and a solar generator. I’ll have to call ya for some advice!
Anytime there mr Hein 🤘🏻
Great video man. Copying this exact set up. I have been running into a problem though… spliced everything and when I turn on 12v light it turns red and nothing will power from my fuse box. Did you happen to run into a similar issue at first?
Thanks!
Awesome!
🤘🏻
Bluetti FTW!
😂
Hi! I love your videos and will be doing the wiring of my Ford transit soon. Just wondering if you use any conduit to protect the wires from rubbing and or getting damaged in the walls? That metal is super sharp!
I do!
First time van converter and want to keep things easy. Where did you get the flare space product? Really want to use a power station like you do rather than the battery/inverter set up but still unsure of all that you did, is there another reference you used or are your skills all natural?
This stuff is way over my head. I bought a brand new ProMaster but I'm going to have to just use a rechargeable power box thing and charge it at work or something. And hope It can at least make my roof fan work.
Nice! That should work
I watch your electrical hook up video and it hands down answers most of my questions….all but one. You show how the solar and alternator can charge the battery but how would you incorporate shore power to the mix. I am sure it is simple but I just can not figure it out! Any help would be appreciated
You can plug an extension cord into a 110 outlet! That’s the simplest solution
Electrical is scary. Thanks for the pointers.
I hope I’ve simplified things for you! :)
I’d like this comment several times over if it was an option!
At 3:19 seconds into video, you state if only using one of the three outputs, you will only output 10 amps. I am using Andersen output and measuring only around 2 amps at fuse box input. Any thoughts?
I love my GZ 1500x, I bought some Goal Zero panels to just plug and play. I am only getting 120 watts of power on a good day with 2 100watt panels. It (Kind of a bummer as the price tag is high) What does the charging look like from the Renogy panels? I think I might need to upgrade...Thanks for all the help and rad videos!!
Renogy has some of the best panels when it comes retaining as much of the wattage. There’s still going to be some loss as it’s going through. But still gets around 160-170 with the 200w
Any videos using eco flow instead of the goal zero?
Everything is pretty much self-explanatory and I appreciate that. I'm on my way to Home Depot to pick up some of those items that were showing unavailable on amazon. But I do not have a question for you, I do not have the yeti 3000, I have the Bluetti system. Would that be just as simple and easy as how you have your setup on the yeti
@@kevinbarnes325 yup!
I'm having a difficult time finding a max dc output cable. Do you have any suggestions?
You must be located in Boise? I might be mistaking this, but I’m pretty sure I ran all the baseboard in the addition above your shop. Currently getting ready to do my own van build looking for all the information I can get and came across your channel. Crazy how that works!
Hahah no way! That’s awesome. Yeah I’m in boise
How did you extend your 12v car charger? I got the one off goal zero but it’s only like 5 feet long
Anyone knows or has a suggestion what could be used instead of the max cable? They’ve been discontinued and I can’t get my hands on it. 😢
I searching for the de 4 output to one. Can you tell me where i can find it?
Great explanations! Newbie question that might be answered in a different video. Is the 110v outlet powered off the fuse box or by some other way?
Never mind, found it clearly explained in another video.
why cant you get the max output cable anymore?
thx for the video
Thanks for the comment!
I also use the goal zero to run the power for my bus conversion. Do you have the 12v input to charge the goal zero wired to the front cab cig lighter? Do you always keep that plugged in?
I’m noticing that the goal zero only charges one or the other when they’re both plugged in. It’ll be for when it’s either night time or cloudy and they’re driving. They can unplug the solar cables and plug in the 12v
Thanks for the videos! Any idea on where to get my hands on one of those max current cable these days? I've got a Goal Zero 1000 to run my system so believe I'll need one of those.

Use this instead
@@AnkeneyVanBuilds Hey, I actually meant the max output cable that's needed with the none X series Goal Zero. It plugs into the 12v output.
nice!
Can the goal zero 1500x run a 40-60A 12v air conditioner?
Now many amp hours is the battery in this build?
I got the dimmer switch ordered. I don't see a link to the lights above the bed with USB built in. I want that as well please 🙏
Nevermind, I ordered some. I will be ordering the 1500 yeti but I can't seem to find the Renogy panels. All they show are 100.
why do you need that max output cable? is it the heater that needs the extra juice?
It’s when you try to run all systems at once
awesome
🤘🏻🤘🏻
It’s a shame eco flow products don’t have the ability of a similar max power cable to combine everything
I am doing a similar build using a Goal Zero Yeti 3000. I am trying to confirm, if setting up a goal zero requires grounding in some way? It seems like it does for using a battery bank, but I was unsure about when using a goal zero. Any help would be appreciated! lol. Thank you!
Nope! its all self contained
Nice video! Are you using the goal zero link system to charge from the car or just the 12V that came with it?
Just the 12v plug extension that trickle charges the battery when the van is on
How did you work the roof around the original air bags. I see you kept them for safety.
I had to trim the foam covers in order to slide the paneling through
Any workaround advise for those who can't find a GY maximum output cable? They just don't exist.
I'm struggling with that too, I'm going to test out using the high output cable. apparently that gives you 30A
will the goal zero power bank work off of an Alternator? I live in an area where the climate is very hot and I'm going to be putting in an air conditioner. The undermount version instead of roof. Will the goal zero work with it also?
Yes to both!
I enjoy your videos. I’m interested in buying a Ram Hightop City Promaster (smallest one). Where are you located? I’d like information as to how I can hire you to do my conversion. Thank you Darlene in Virginia.
Hey Darlene, Im in Idaho. I am currently not taking on any more custom builds. I am working on vans that will be put up for sale soon!
Something that no one ever explains is the Choice of fuse on the fuse block (you have 5 and 15). can you explain how to decide this and why its important to pick the correct ones (or can I just go 15 on call of them?)
Good question. The electronics you’re using will say the recommended fuse size. If it doesn’t you can google the recommended fuse size for the gauge of wire you’re using
Do you have an alternative for the max output cable?? I can't find it anywhere :(
amzn.to/3O9jBgK you can use this instead!
hey do you think the new Bluetti 180 would work as well as the goal zero 1500 like what you have?
I don’t see why not!
You had solar cable plugged in but no steady input reading?
It was an overcast day
I got a question about the max output cable. I have a 3000x . I understand the 12 volt out put is regulated. Do i need the max output cable to get all the DC power out of the unit. The site says its not needed on the x models. I am running a fridge, tv, led lights, water pump, and dc fan off the fuse box. thanks great video!
You don’t need the max output. You can use the bottom right plug only and get 20 amps
Thanks so much.
Would I need all the fuse work if I’m using my goal zero 500x just for a max air fan and puck lights?
If that’s all the electrical you’re using than no!
@@AnkeneyVanBuilds thanks!! Keep up the great vids
@@KornKrlz2 you’re welcome! Will do
What gauge wire did you use for the accessories that tie back to the fuse panel?
I believe it was an 8AWG, maybe 10
Are you tests out Goal Zero Yeti 6000x lithium ion power station
Haven’t yet! The next van is going to have the 3000X so I’m excited about that
Do you have a background in electrical wiring?? This is all Greek to me and will most definitely need to outsource this work.
Nope just did a lot of research!
I know this video is old, but is there an option to charge the GoalZero with shore power too as a third charging option?
You can use an extension cord and plug it into any wall outlet to charge!
im confused why the link listed is for the goalzero 3000x but in the video its the 1500x. Is the 1500x enough?
Oh weird.... depending on what you’re using it for. The 1500x is solid
Do the 400w solar panels produce enough power for your daily needs
Yes!
Do they have something like the max output cable that will work on the Bluetti EB70 ?
I’m not sure, I’ve never used the bluetti. Sorry Paul
Thanks for answering none the less, I really like your videos.
@@pauladkins8448 sorry for not bein helpful! Good luck 👍🏻
Hey im having trouble finding a Max Output cable as well, any insight on where to find one? I cant find it on ebay either
Yeah I think they may have stopped making those. This is what I’ve been using
amzn.to/3NFA09m
@@AnkeneyVanBuilds thanks for the quick reply. You think that enough power even though it comes out of one port, unlike the one you use in the video with several ports?
