Great video and great photos. Love your work. Can you please make video about your light metering technique. Best practice for using iPhone and Sekonic for metering. Thanks a lot. Best regards from Croatia. 👍🏻😃
Very nice video Kevin thank you. You said you were using the Sekonic light meter and the phone, is the phone app light meter accurate, which one do you use?
I guess you are using a Mamiya Six V? Can you say something about the viewfinder? I purchased a Konica Pearl II 645 for a trip to Colorado, Wyoming and Utah we had planed this spring but which of course never happened. I still shot some rolls with the Pearl and I like the camera and the concept but I loath the viewfinder on that thing. You have to press your eye to the metal to see the full frame. Is the viewfinder on the Mamiya any better?
Hey Mac, lot of great shots in this bunch! What a quaint little town. Do you find the Summicron ASPH a bit too sharp for film? I shoot with a Zeiss f/2 lens and it feels way too sharp for me. I have been thinking of getting a Summicron maybe v4.
The ASPH is super sharp! I was actually surprised the first few rolls with it. I am a fan. Paired with a softer film stock, like Gold 200 or Pro Image 11, it really shines. The v4 is super nice too!
Hey man! Great video like always. I was looking at your scans from your previous lab and was wondering what the issues are? I couldn't really see any big issues. What did they mess up on?
Did you underexpose your ektachrome 100 shots? My local photo lab suggested me that i should , for some reason. Or it's maybe because the roll that i have is expired, don't know. Anyway, nice video, nice photos.
Something wrong or different with the audio on this episode. Thanks for the content, not sure where the images from the Mamiya Six were, will have to go back and scrub the video for them, and lastly, Opening and letting the lens fall and slap out is not good for the camera on your Mamiya Six. I sold mine and got the Zeiss 524/16. Look up Certo6 if you need repairs. Just subscribed, thought I was since your videos pop up
Good advice on opening the camera! Regarding the audio, it's a new video set-up. I'll def. have it sorted before the next episode. Thanks for watching and subbing!
Lots of good stuff here - My favorite IMO is the mountain shot at 6:52
It was a target rich environment! :)
You did good picking up a Mamiya Six! They're legendary cameras in their own right and design marvels.
I had no clue! 😂 The first scans floored me.
The film plane focusing movement is pretty ingenious. I have the IV. Now, you need a 6x9 folder. ;-)
I sure do! 😂
@@MacShootsFilm Voigtlander Bessa I, my dude. Trust me.
Every photo had awesome
composition! Loving the aerial footage in the beginning of the video too
Thanks a lot!

Great idea! Thanks for watching!
Thanks Mac :-) beautiful pictures, you make my day :-)
Glad to hear that!

I didn't realize you were in AZ! I was in that Airport on Monday doing the same thing at the Grand Canyon.
Moved back in May! Have fun at the GC! It's an amazing place!
Really great to see the Mamiya 6. I love my but it has some haze so I can't shoot towards any highlights.
It's a fun camera, but SOOOOOOOOOO old! :)
My M6 also has the same problem as 2:25
It only occurs when I use 1/1000 and 1/500
So weird. I shoot 1/1000s and f/5.6 for 80% of my shots and never had this issue.
@@MacShootsFilm yeah, that’s so weird, It should have a CLA I think
@@MacShootsFilm I have an M3 and have had issues with shutter giving similar problems. Came back from CLA at Leica without the problem.
@@rkuns Sending mine out next week for CLA! Waiting on my M5 to arrive so I have something to shoot while my M6 is in rehab. :)
Beautiful
Thank you

It is a pretty rudimentary viewfinder with a faint rangfinder patch. It is easy to focus though. It is relatively bright and clutter free.
Which model mamiya six is that?
Not sure the actual version. It has the 75mm f/3.5 Zuiko lens.
Since it shoots both 6x6 and 645 it's most likely a Mamiya Six V.

Great trip and photos, did you have red hot chillis in the blistering sun, hope you didnt get dust on your face or you cape :-)
You saw my cape?!?!?!?!

I actually shot it at 80 ISO. So, slightly overexposed.
