Reamping is when you record a performance and then "re-amp" that same track later. It gives a whole world of flexibility after the original take. You basically record a track and the track gets played back while you fine tune the settings on any amplifier you can get your hands on--even if that amp wasn't available when you tracked the part.
TL;DR you record the unprocessed sound of the guitar, _then_ play the recording through your setup to adjust the tone, and record it again with all the processing applied.
the best tone I've ever heard is the Lord-Alge Brothers produced Blink 182 albums. they would be nothing without them. best, juiciest guitar I've ever heard.
Thanks ! But I don't have all this setup, so I can't do it 😅 I actually prefer work very hard on the tone I want, and then, once I'm happy, I record myself 😊
Ive never understood the idea of reamping as anything more than fixing something that went wrong. Get it dialed in first and then move on would be my way of thinking.
Is my guitar valuable? My first electric guitar is Washburns Stratocaster. For me its very good guitar. Its from 1999 something. Its my uncles old. I dont wanna sell it but i just wanna know the value.😂
This is a helpful tutorial
Very cool signal chain. Just got a Mesa badlander
Absolitely no clue what any of this means but i love it!!!
Basically pre-record and edit tone later
Record guitar without amp, than record the amp by playing the recorded guitar from your pc

Me: plugging into my amp, dialing in my sound, placing phone on top of amp, silencing the room, hitting record.
This is huge. Also shoutout cubase
Can you show your record collection? (Assuming you have records)
I mistakenly thought reamping was feeding the signal from an amp onto another, rather than from a DI box
Whats your fav band?

Cool civil war
Or you can just use plugins

man i spaced out after step 1 lmao
Record with plugins, no???
Some people like making their life harder
@@Majkels that’s tough
Some people like more the sound of a real amp
@@arthursoares5413 you could never tell the difference unless you're looking for artifacts which so called real amp lovers dont actually want
@@Majkels i agree
Wait, do you have 3 amplifiers?!!!! 😲😲
This is literally the more obvious way to record.
No need for the reamp. Just gain it right from your audio interface playback
was that About A Wah by NirvanWah
Civil Wah by Wah N' Roses
okay but whats preamping?
Cuba’s is scary😢
I'm on step: ask the bank for a loan on gear
Amps are a huge waste of time. I have 4 and use my daw/plugins more than anything.
This argument gets harder to fight every day, still won't beat the feeling of a live cab but will anyone notice on the record...
Jesus
Too complicated
Lame
Too complicated, just do it like bands dis back in the day. Most recordings sound bad anyway, today.
This is a very old technique that has been used by many bands "back in the day"
I agree many bands sound too computerized now. But they’ve been doing this technique in the studio since the 80s
