Vehicle lineups continue to grow more and more complicated, with numerous models, body styles and iterations that turn the model names into an alphabet soup of letters and numbers. In this video we go through the current Audi lineup in detail, discussing what the different model levels and letters mean, what the different body styles are, how different models are related and how to tell them apart! We focus on the latest generations of the current Audi lineup, this has changed over the years and also varies across the planet, so we mainly discuss the vehicles available in America. I plan on making more of these types of videos for other manufacturers, and going back to older generations of some of these lineups too!

Honestly, I had no knowledge of Audi’s lineup until I watched this! I’ve been looking through my local used car ads and saw an Audi and didn’t know what “A6” meant other than it’s a 6 cyl vs the A4 with a 4 cyl, so I liked it better haha! So I literally typed into RUclips “Understanding Audi” and I’m so glad you took the time to make this and explain! I now have the knowledge that I as a car guy have been wanting to learn!

i’m gonna be honest i only understood this whole video bc im already familiar with audi’s lineup... but for someone whos new to audi... i think this whole video would be abit confusing to them and hard to follow up. you could’ve definitely simplified this whole video a lot more imo

I understood what "A" means and "S" and "RS" and the greater the number the more it costs, and then I got lost
I understand Audi’s lineup only because I’ve worked for them for 3 years now. Tried understanding BMW and Mercedes but it’s kind of all over the place for me lol. Working toward an S3 right now with the RS5 being an achievable dream car in the future!

In Europe we also have A4 Allroad,in the beginning A6 also had Allroad version now Allroad is kinda separate model
In Europe new S6 an S7 models are going to be disel so just RS6 and RS7 will be petrol

A3 E-Tron hatch still made? Also Audi has another Q5 model now with the plug in hybrid.
They also have the A8 available as a PHEV. I don't know about the hatch.

I will soon go up to an s level Audi planning on going from an a4 prestige 09 to a 2018 s3 since it’s seems reasonable for an 18 yr old
how reliable has that a4 been?
SaiTech it’s been good no issues have been reported on the car fax it’s only had 1 owner they left the car in really good shape the paint the interior with only 92k miles got it a year ago
Currently have 96k miles on it now so far good had it inspected recently

idk if you done some research since then but quattro is just audi's version of AWD, i assure you that you're not gonna find any quattro on a BMW
Audi is the easier of the 3 German automakers to understand. Make a video for Mercedes and BMW.

My main understanding of the current Audi lineup is that they are all automatic only which is sadness. The end.
I thought you could still get the B9 A4 with a manual, may have changed with the most recent mid cycle refresh. But you are correct, pretty sad. But no one was buying them...so we really have no one to blame but the consumers.
@@EddieX Consumers are to blame as they gradually accepted the easier less involving transmissions in the majority of their purchases. However, automakers have a roll to play as well by not offering models that are manual that appeal to manual buyers. Lack of imagination, passion and driving spirit has lead us to where we are now. Porsche, Honda, VW, Toyota, Subaru, BMW, Aston Martin, Lotus, Mazda etc all deserve credit for making the business case for giving enthusiasts the opportunity to row their own gears. Consumers and automakers share the blame together. And it's a shame. Three pedals, to two pedals, now there are one pedal electric cars and soon no pedals. Enjoy driving stick while you can folks, cuz "driving" is fading fast.

I really think the new S cars are overpriced. For example, the new S6 is almost as expensive as a BMW M550 and over a half second slower.
Well of course the S6 is going to be the same price as the M550 bc they’re competitors. And a lot of people don’t care about small differences in 0-60 times bc it’s mostly older people buying those types of cars anyways. Audi has much better tech and is more comfortable to drive than the bmw so the price does make sense
yeah I am pretty disappointed in what I was reading about the new S7...its slower than the outgoing 4.0L V8 model.
