MOST DEFINITELY! It was awesome spending time with the whole family and seeing your guys GREAT relationship/marriage is something TRULY SPECIAL and what all men and women all work hard to have but unfortunately doesn't always work out that way. Thank you guys much and MUCH LOVE AND RESPECT TO THE BOTH OF YOU AND LITTLE MAN! @Katie Jean Williams @Vigilance Elite
For all you wondering- they came into my restaurant last month and I was blessed to wait on them! They really are this sweet and nice in real life and they also gave me a huge tip that was beyond generous
I love "with all my Navy Seal and operator experience I didn't put two and two together" bit. Man, I'm the father of a three year old. In my line of work I plan long, strategic and complex projects and I can tell you, kids are a whole new different game. You just learn as you go. But honestly, Katie seems to be cool with situations like this and a great sport, which is fantastic because newborns can be a source of arguments. All the best!
I just discovered these videos and have watched all of them. I just want to say that I'm humbled by how you as not only a couple, but now also as parents, business partners, etc, put these videos out there and expose your personal lives to some extent, explain the struggles, and most importantly..... your willingness to get past those issues with each other and move forward by communicating, staying true, and staying the course. Well done Sir and Ma'am, very well done indeed.
That's awesome you made the call. Got there, scouted the terrain, took inventory of your little platoon and decided you made a huge tactical error. You manned up, told the troops you fucked up and it was time to return to base. Good call! Great story man.
I think I'm safe in speaking for your followers when I say that the reason we are here, supporting you day in and day out is because of who you are, just as much as who you were. Those wonderful human beings with you in the studio, then, are just as much a part of you. Thus, we appreciate them both. Thanks to all 3 of you for sharing yourselves with us.
This makes me grin from ear to ear, trips down memory lane for my own early family days outings. The stuff nobody tells you about when you start having kids.
Just .0002 seconds in I could absolutely see and hear the love between you two. My wife and I have been together since August of 1990...we still laugh with/at each other just like you two.. I cherish my wife and she tolerates me...🤣
It's nice to see the interaction between you two. You've got something special there.. never let go. I've been married to my wife for 42+ years and I'm still giddy when I'm with her and the spark has never left. I wish that for the both of you...
My wife and I have 3 daughters - three-year-old, a two-year-old, and a six-month-old. We did something similar recently, I booked a special bed-and-breakfast in Galena, Illinois near the Mississippi. Beautiful town… Nearly killed each other day two. When the dust settles you do have to laugh it off. Life is nuts
You’ve got a beautiful family and you can see the love your wife has for you in the way she looks at you and smiles. Congratulations, Shawn. You deserve this and I hope you enjoy every minute, even the stressful ones.
I remember those days. I have two boys(7 and 9) and I can tell you it gets better. Now we go four wheeling, fishing, camping, and traveling. When you have your kids it gives you an excuse to act like a kid and have fun. I coach soccer and baseball. I am also a Cub Master. Life is good!
Sean, I watched this with my wife while we were up at 2 am trying to put down our newborn. She and I laughed so hard we were both crying. I appreciate this video so much. You and Katie are always great to listen to. Can't wait for more.
That was hilarious y’all love the down to earth we’re normal people too with normal problems. That was definitely a relatable scenario and i think you guys should definitely continue with that kind of off the cuff casual content as well. Semper Fi brother y’all take care
Love, Love, Love this video. As a father of an 18 year old there is and will be an endless supply of stories. Thank y'all for sharing of one yours. Keep them coming. And Shawn thank you for your service and this channel. What a breath of fresh air.
Let me tell you Shawn, cherish these times because they go by so damn fast. It's nice you both can laugh about it. I can tell you two are well grounded by being able to look at a situation like that and find the humor in it. Enjoy parenthood! God bless.
Best wishes to you both and to your little one. This is by far my favorite RUclips channel, nothing makes me happier than seeing people like you and your fellow vets find tranquility and success on the other side of duty. Much love and thank you 👍👊
Hey you two. Thank you for keeping it real. We all imagine how great a weekend get-a-way can be. We often forget that life has its way of screwing with our plans. I have been there myself. My 15 year old son, locked the keys in the rental on a ski vacation in the mountains. That cost $300 to get a locksmith out. On another vacation, the ignition switch just decided to die leaving us stuck at a Holiday Inn next door to the GM dealership while they repaired the switch. It all just adds to the story when you tell it later. Congrats on the little one also.
This was a really great idea you guys! Shawn spends so much time focusing on interviewing the guests that we don't get to hear much about his experiences, so this was nice. Plus, any of us with littles have been in almost identical situations, so don't feel alone... plus it's always fun to laugh at the memories for years to come. 🙏💙🇺🇸
I so enjoy you both and have been a fan of your show since you started. Now a little insight Shawn listening to you sounds like l’m hearing my dad again. How many times have I heard him say “ I could move an entire battalion easier than I can move these three people from the house to the car when it’s time to go!” So thanks for reminding me again of precious memories, I wouldn’t trade. And know this; your frustrations will be many, but they are part of the building blocks of an avalanche of overwhelming joy you are just together advancing upon.
This is why we love your stuff! There's not a lot of people out there with your qualifications and life history that keep it real. This was genuine and great, thank you!
I just recently found your video series and am a Patreon supporter. But I really enjoy your "It's Not Just Us" series because it shows the family side of you. And after raising 5 kids, I can relate to your stories of young parenthood and relationships. I hope you continue making this series as Sonny continues to grow up and how you both nurture him. Keep up the good work.
Love that you keep it real & two main takeaways. First, your observation of the irony that with your vast experience NOT to have anticipated the issues is both hilarious and shows the where you heart was with your intent - and that your wife had the ability to recognize that from the jump. Second, life, relationships and parenting will always have shit go off the rails but the dynamic and demeanor you guys share will anchor it . Great video.
Former EM2. Great video! I married my high school sweetheart 31 years ago (next month) through two Westpacs and a world cruise onboard USS ENTERPRISE! Navy wives are a special breed. We raised two beautiful daughters. My wife and I tell my daughters and son in laws FAILED EXPERIMENTS ( like the one you just shared) makes a relationship stronger. Its not about the BAD IDEA we had at the time but more about being able to laugh at ourselves when the perfect plan wasn't so perfect! Hope to see many more of this type of video. I think it would be an amazing video to get all your seal team wives together and have them open up about how they dealt with being a Navy Seal wife while you guys were in Afghanistan and Iraq. I was in from 86-94 DESERT STORM ERA serving on aircraft carrier so my wife didn't have the worries of me in combat she still had to keep it together for two 6 month WESTPACS & a 7 month world cruise. I visit in-laws in Cookeville , Tennessee so I would definitely volunteer to be a SPECIAL HOST.
These kinds of "disasters" are some of the best memories in life. 😂 My son would cry and fuss everywhere as a baby except the 18 hour plane ride across the world.
Later in life we have found that working through these stresses together really were some of the best times (and we raised 7). My wife often said during times like this that we'll laugh about it later and most of the time she was right. Very enjoyable hearing you both. Thank you.
My favorite video you've made because it shows that our vets can have happy families after they finish their tours. Also, this video humanizes you and gives the rest of us hope. So Rad! I wish you and your family success and happiness bud! Please make more of these videos!
OMG! You guys are awesome. Thank you for your heart warming transparency. I am grandpa now but you helped me recall similar experiences many years ago. Great memories now. God bless you. - Dave.
It’s so great to hear how y’all met and now seeing how you have both become so into each other. Love hearing your wife’s laugh and makes me believe that it warms your heart after all the intense and traumatic things in the service. Blessings to you both.
Welcome to parenthood. A few things to remember: Always make time for each other. Begin and end the day on a happy note. Never go to bed angry or mad. When the baby sleeps, you both should grab a nap. No comms at the dinner table, except for a baby monitor. Quiet conversation and holding hands.
This!! this makes me smile! I love that you guys had the courage to at least try and get out and find "you" time. It's super important to try and maintain that connection and to do those things for each other. Shawn, good on you for putting in the effort! From one dad to another, keep up the good work. Also.. if you ever take your little guy to the beach by yourself.. remember diaper cream can be used as sunscreen... slicks them up like a baby seal, but they will not burn! I learned that by mistake, its a longer story but you get the idea.. Cheers! Lee from Canada.
I know why you didn't see it brother. Because until that final moment, failure just wasn't an option. Great to see chats like this. Sadly Chuckie Cheese is dying and may not be around by the time its an option for yall.
Absolutely one of the funniest, bare to your core, and hands down the most relatable subject matter...keep making these!!! Oh man look at how you guys truly do love each other just by the grins and smiles...my belly hurts from lmao!! Lolol
Love this type of video! Love conversations and remembering funny situations with the family and this gives that feeling. Blessings to Shawn, Katie, baby and all the pets! 🤙🏻
Damn. Haha sounds like a true disaster. I’ve been listening to your podcast on Spotify, really really gets me through the shift working security for a client. Excellent content brother.
New parenthood is great isn't it? Note: always try to ask your wife what she wants to do. Even when you ask, it's not easy to decipher. We all trying to get it right.
I wanted to say thank you to both of you for doing this! Lol, we have adult kids right now and have had our moments of real stressful to get everything and everyone planned out. My husband chuckled when he heard you say you had all this experience in life but mapping this out was difficult. He wasn't in the services but came from a family in the services and felt like he had some preparation too but we always found each moment out was a different lesson with the boys. And I wanted to say your wife is 💯 absolutely beautiful! I still have those moments too of not feeling beautiful or fit or frustrated because I don't have the same body I used to have and things don't fit like they used too lol but that is a normal set of feelings. We tend to critique ourselves worse than we ever should.
I liked it...because and inspite of it not being your usual longer form video... it showed you in a different light and you seemed more relaxed. Great content and guests...I am glad you give them a voice. Thank you for your sacrifice and service.
Lolol, an awesome young family experience. A great experience to look back on and laugh! Great couple, great family, and great parents! Proud to a part of it here & on Patreon. Another observation, Sean, you are so detail oriented that you centered the baby's swing perfectly under the "V" logo. That good ole military training. Thanks for sharing the story.
Parents will love this! It’s funny, it’s real, and every parent want’s to be right where u guys are. Beautiful young family that’s fought through adversity and been successful in life and work, loves each other, and dedicated there lives to helping other people. Every parent wants to be right where u guys are at. It comes the camera, we can see how proud, excited, and scared to death you guys both are with your baby sitting there beside you. Every mom or dad has these crazy, unbelievable, this really happen to me story’s that end up being parent life. All you can really do is hang on and enjoy the ride and laugh!!This will be a rocket ship, home run, to the moon success!
This is gold. My wife and I enjoy watching these together, it’s funny because we’re so much younger but our son is 5 so we remember the same stages. I made the same exact mistake in Chattanooga 2 years ago. Funny enough my wife thought the same as yours did, she loved the idea and appreciated it but it was too much to handle for us both. Great memory though. Much love sir, God bless y’all ♥️
Your story reminds me of a cruise my family went on when my kids were very little. It is a long story. It was one of the worst experiences of my life. My wife and I remember one thing fondly. At one point we sat down to talk and realized that we had to basically ignore everything outside of our family and just focus on survival.
One of the doctors I used to work with said Texas Roadhouse was his favorite restaurant because it was always so loud in there that no one noticed or cared when his kids acted up. Thanks for the video.
Shawn man it's good to see you so happy and relaxed. You can really see how good things are for you currently congratulations and thank you for all that you do for us.
Lol!! This is so accurate, brings back memories from our daughter's first few months, she's a toddler now. Anyways, I appreciate these episodes as well and I love Katie's smile when she is looking at Shawn, you can see the love she has for her husband. My husband and I had to learn these lessons about where and when and what to take baby to and hahaha babies are the great equalizers of us all.
I don't post often. THIS IS AWESOME!!! Congrats on Sonny. THANKS for all your hard work on this channel. I really enjoy it and listen to the podcasts on my drive to work.
"I used to be a gamer". Omg I laughed so hard at this point, she said "A what"? I can relate to this story so much. Thanks for sharing and keep em coming!
I appreciate so much about you, the show, your service and now letting us in a little bit. This was one of my favorites, thanks for sharing. Also, you focused my attitude about friendships on one of your videos last year, fewer friends and invest in them. It has made a huge difference, thanks!
Shawn this was awesome of you guys sharing your family with us. It is also amazing to see how well you have adjusted to civilian life. Really enjoy all your vids! Keep up the great work bro!!
Loved this.. it brought me way back trying to do the same thing but had two very young boys 2 and 3 months old. Keep doing these and congratulations to you both for your bundle of joy.
I really love doing these videos with you! I hope everyone enjoys this! If you do, we will do more!
We will do more babe. On my way home. Love you
I LOVE This video/Story. You 3 are so cute.
Need more

That's awesome you made the call. Got there, scouted the terrain, took inventory of your little platoon and decided you made a huge tactical error. You manned up, told the troops you fucked up and it was time to return to base. Good call! Great story man.
This was cool, kinda feels like we're hanging out with the fam.
Lol ya
Agreed. Love that they are sharing their personal baby saga. I’m sure we all have many of our own so can relate. Lol
Man I love hearing old frogman stories just like any other guy…but this right here…this shit warms my cold heart!
Shawn, you’re a stand up guy. Keep these videos coming. Appreciate you.
Hysterical! As a woman and mom of two boys, I saw this coming! Nice gesture Shawn! Don’t give up on this romantic getaways…

We have so been there!!! Two kids, two German Shepherds!! Real life at its best !!! It doesn’t get any better!! Thank you both for sharing !!

That's beautiful. You are very fortunate. I sometimes wish I had found a life partner for myself like that too.

So human and so humble. Thanks for shareing this
Let me tell you Shawn, cherish these times because they go by so damn fast. It's nice you both can laugh about it. I can tell you two are well grounded by being able to look at a situation like that and find the humor in it. Enjoy parenthood! God bless.
Shawn, my wife and I had a covid baby too, he just turned one. Congratulations on your baby!
Please do more of these they are so wholesome and beautiful. Love the solidarity with navigating being new parents too.
The important thing is that you were able to laugh together at the end of the video.
Best wishes to you both and to your little one. This is by far my favorite RUclips channel, nothing makes me happier than seeing people like you and your fellow vets find tranquility and success on the other side of duty. Much love and thank you 👍👊
Laughing is better than therapy every time. Great video!
Laughing IS therapy. 😉

As a single young man with no kids this is a very educational episode lol you guys are crushing it! 😎
This is why we love your stuff! There's not a lot of people out there with your qualifications and life history that keep it real. This was genuine and great, thank you!
Glad to so you both smiling and happy just laughing it off.
This story is relatable on so many levels. Love the casual talk and always love seeing Katy on 🤍
I love seeing your family Shawn! This is Awesome! ❤❤❤

I think after watching about 10 shows that you have posted this was a nice relaxing show I am a new sub ! Thank you for your service !

This is special… the two of you with the baby swinging in the background is epic! Congratulations
My son would cry and fuss everywhere as a baby except the 18 hour plane ride across the world.
Later in life we have found that working through these stresses together really were some of the best times (and we raised 7). My wife often said during times like this that we'll laugh about it later and most of the time she was right. Very enjoyable hearing you both. Thank you.
Thank you for the REAL conversations !
My favorite video you've made because it shows that our vets can have happy families after they finish their tours. Also, this video humanizes you and gives the rest of us hope. So Rad! I wish you and your family success and happiness bud! Please make more of these videos!
Videos like this help people in ways you'd never realize. Keep it up brother. I'm along for the ride no matter what you decide to do.
AGREED 💯%!!
OMG! You guys are awesome. Thank you for your heart warming transparency. I am grandpa now but you helped me recall similar experiences many years ago. Great memories now. God bless you. - Dave.
Beautiful family. Love and respect to you and your family brother.
I’ll back you all the way now that I see you looking after this country we hold dear for our children.
This is what makes y’all awesome
Love your stories as we can all relate..whether we are young or old..been there done that..keep em coming..you both are great story tellers! 👍
No thrills and fluff. Just real relationship stuff. I dig it.
Really enjoy listening to you two reminiscing on your life experiences!! Also your individual points of view! Excited for y’all’s next one!!
Lolol
Absoloute GOLD from these two.
💯!!
I love it. Embrace the parent life. My daughter is turning 16 this year and it really does go by so fucking fast. Enjoy every second.
New parenthood is great isn't it? Note: always try to ask your wife what she wants to do. Even when you ask, it's not easy to decipher. We all trying to get it right.
Absolutely love the dynamic between you two and want to see more. Much love
This just further renforces the idea that SRS is for "therapy", keep up the quality content haha
I wanted to say thank you to both of you for doing this! Lol, we have adult kids right now and have had our moments of real stressful to get everything and everyone planned out. "me being the magnificent husband that I am, was just trying to make my wife happy" I already know how the story ends now, you said it all.
Awesome! Just love seeing you two kickin it back & forth! And lessons that don't cost a finger or a toe are always great👍
That’s actually useful info about traveling with an infant. Thanks guys!
I liked it...because and inspite of it not being your usual longer form video... it showed you in a different light and you seemed more relaxed. Great content and guests...I am glad you give them a voice. Thank you for your sacrifice and service.
Hilarious! Just think of it as a training exercise for actually going on vacation!
More of this please. I love the unscripted conversations with you both.
Feeding the algorithms, another great life story! xoxoxoxo!!! :) you are a beautiful family!
I really enjoyed this! It was great good fun hearing you both bounce ideas back and forth, all with good humor and affection.

Outstanding! Experience will teach us every time. This is great. From both sides. Absolute perfection.
One of the doctors I used to work with said Texas Roadhouse was his favorite restaurant because it was always so loud in there that no one noticed or cared when his kids acted up. Thanks for the video.
Classic! You guys are great, love the work you do, you make a great team. Enjoy these moments, the go buy fast!
LOL!! My wife and I have totally been there. Reasonable foresight was left off the checklist more than once in those early baby days..
You two are so real, it’s refreshing!❤️
Very cool Shawn, you two are terrific. Happily married 21 years myself and been thru lots of knucklehead moves like that too brother! Keep ‘em coming!
These videos are great. Just two very real people and I appreciate that!
This was great. These getaways with family are missions! All the best in the new year to you and your family.
Thank you both for sharing a wonderful glimpse into your beautiful family, solid work struggling through life's issue's!!
You both have an amazing relationship and make an awesome team. More videos of both of you would be great.
This reminded me of my first kid, absolutely hilarious!!! Please do more stories, this was fun for me and my wife to watch. God bless!
Yall are great together and funny and entertaining!! I love hearing your stories!!
Shawn this was awesome of you guys sharing your family with us. It is also amazing to see how well you have adjusted to civilian life. Really enjoy all your vids! Keep up the great work bro!!
