But this is not have Elvis played it. Rather, this is how Bobby Ogdin played it! What you hear in this video TV special and on the album is a piano overdub played by Bobby Ogdin. Yes, Elvis did play and sing this song in concert but Elvis' producer, Felton Jarvis, did not think Elvis' piano playing was polished enough for the TV special and album. They took Bobby Ogdin into RCA studio A here in Nashville and Bobby played to go with Elvis' voice and tempo. So the piano you hear in this clip is NOT Elvis, it's Bobby Ogdin and his style.
INTERESTING NOTE: We are NOT hearing Elvis playing the piano in the famous clip from the 77 concert. Yes, Elvis did sit down at the piano and played & sang Unchained Melody for the live audience. However, Felton Jarvis felt that Elvis' paino playing was not polished enough for the TV special and album. That is where Bobby Ogdin stepped in.
