I don't know about that. He's cocky, but not THAT cocky. He actually does later show he cares for his friends. Songs like this are about power hungry people, tend to fit characters like Light Yagami & Izaya Orihara a lot better. You know, awful people who aren't just "YEAH I'M AWESOME, NO ONE CAN BEST ME!"
