Awesome awesome awesome :D Remember watching this when it went out, and had it on tape for years until I lost it about ten years ago. Been itching to see this again, thank you!
I rediscovered Spike in my record collection and have dived into his repertoire with revived enthusiasm. Spike is a true gem. Incidentally, "Don't let me be misunderstood" is a song from Blood & Chocolate, not King of America.
I love his acoustic performance here. For all his allusions to having hands of concrete, he’s a pretty phenomenal guitar player. So what if his style is unconventional. He gives hope to us self-taught musicians!
Thank you so much for posting this. Spike is one of my favorite albums of all time! I can't wait to see the whole set. Thanks again.
i taped it when originally broadcast in canada on muchmusic back in '89. lost for many years, but recently unearthed in my basement. glad you like!
Omg!! Thank You 🙏. This is Awesome. Not as cool as meeting him .
Thanks so much for posting this. This is a spectacular find.

No it's not Dieter. It is from "King Of America".
Why, you're right! That song doesn't fit there! Should've been on B&C :)
Thank you for sharing this!
Really thanks for posting this!

Spike is an incredible must own album
I love Spike, I had a cassette of it I wore out...literally.
Personally, I like "Satellite" the best from Spike. Great melody and lyrics.
When bbc2 was essential
Is there a copy of the Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood video that's shown in the opening montage anywhere?
@pretorious700 Yep...me, too.
