I live just north of New Orleans and we just had almost a foot of snow fall in one day and it stuck! Local weather man said we got more in one day than Anchorage got in the entire month! I now see why y'all love the snow so much. It was truly a beautiful sight to see
I have a connex also, except mine is a 40' high cube. I used some cull lumber, 2X3's and built 2'X4' shelving units, 6' tall, with three shelves each. You could do the same just build out 4 of them, and then everything will have a place. Totes help a bunch. And as you already have, bolt some 2X's on the wall for mounting different stuff, like hooks for the fish net, and snow shoes and other various stuff. Build the shelves to fit, like one with a taller first shelf to put your freezer under, and one tall enough for the Gen, then put the tank on the shelf over it. But as you organize, put the lighter stuff up high, and the heaviest stuff lower. Build out a covered porch, and stuff that just needs to stay out of the weather, and not rodent food, could go out there. Build walls except the end, and just use a tarp on the entrance. Also, all this mics boxes, with stuff in them. put a piece of painters tape on them and write on them what's inside. Makes it much easier to find stuff.
Hi, love the video. I've seen others organise the meat in their chest freezer by putting like meats in the fabric reuseable shopping bags... the bonus is they have handles which makes reaching for an item easy, just pull the bag up. Yrs ago, I injured my back while bent over in the freezer trying to lift a frozen roast out.... just a thought.
📌Becca, tip for easy way to strip down cast iron to bare bones prior to re-seasoning is to put it through a self cleaning oven setting, when done if not all the way stripped then do it again through another cycle until it is, then just wash with steel wool, dry & start re_seadoning process. The self cleaning oven setting will save a lot of elbow grease or need to grind down. 😅 Works for aluminum or stainless steel baking sheets too (NOT the non-stick ones).
Good morning, I am having my morning coffee with you guys. I look forward to watching your video every Saturday morning. Love you guys and you are doing a great job building your homestead.❤️🙏🙌
Hi becca enjoyed this video Henry is lovely getting so big I love his little red jacket and matching hat so cute the snow ❄is so beautiful so nice where you live stay warm 👍👍❤❤❤👋
Becca thank you both for another video. Stanley is way too cute. I love you positive attitude and the way you two communicate. You need both of those things to survive in a harsh environment, working for your family.
Hello Becca! Thanks for sharing another video. It always feels good to organize and do some cleaning out. It looks like the weather is crazy there. Baby Henry is getting so big and he looks cute in his little hat and jacket. Look forward to seeing another video.

I felt a sense of accomplishment as I had a hand in the task.
It doesn't matter if you are building or cutting firewood or cleaning or sorting or fixing, trapping or etc. It is all interesting to me and I certainly enjoy being able to watch Henry grow up and learn with his loving mama and daddy. Thanks.
Here in northern Sweden we also have really crazy weather. A normal winter we should have 1 meter of snow and 20-30 degrees Celsius. Now there is maybe 10 cm of snow and just ice everywhere.😭
Alaska weather is just as crazy as the lower 48. Here in central oklahoma we are supposed to be below freezing for 100+ hours which is very unusual for us and we had 8 inches of snow last week. Thanks for sharing.
Use as much vertical space in the Connex as you can. Maybe make a short loft area, if there is space, in the back to store least used materials. Organized supplies save you so much time and make it easier to see what needs restocking.
Becca those back pack carrier for children are nice just make sure Henry is strapped in. When you lean over they tend to fly over your head. Had one for my grandson and went mushrooming.
You def need the ice cleats. ALONE from Alone in Alaska wears them when she has to fill up with water from her local water well. The area all around is simplyvtoo icy to not use them and not fall and get seriously hurt. Are they on your Amazon list ????
The easiest way to get rid of the stuff Lodge puts on their cast iron is to used a grinder brush to it. Another way is to put it inside your wood stove with a very hot fire or even in a bonfire. I’m old now, but the older women in my church taught me 40 years ago to never let a bonfire go to waste in that they would bury their various cast iron cookware in the fire for a few hours. It comes out looking brand spanking new. Then, a little lard or tallow and you’re set to go. This does NOT work for aluminum! Lol, it would melt! This method is only for all cast iron stuff.
How much has Henry grown. They are babies for such a short time. So much easier when you don't have to carry him on you constantly. Thankyou for another video sharing your life. I tried to find the ice cleats in Amazon but there's too many, maybe if you choose what you'd like ,it would help. I'm too old and techno illiterate to understand how to do it. Gggggrrrrrr
When you use cardboard to store your things you are setting yourselves up for a huge mold problem. You need wooden or metal shelves with totes, wooden boxes or baskets. Cardboard holds the moisture.
Becca are you sure you are going to have to grind down the cast iron? I got some that looked far worse and was able to bring them back. Henry is getting so big. Levi be careful

It was 51° yesterday in SEWi. There is no snow in the forecast, but really lower temps coming!
Love watching your little family. Love from Lincolnshire, 🇬🇧 xx

Enjoyed video
I'm glad Levi's arm is better
Would Love to see a video of you seasoning the cast iron. what will you use to do it with? thanks

If you have plastic milk crates, they’re great for sorting in your freezer
We have you freezing cold weather in Central NY. I would love to ship it back to you guys! ❤

My husband just takes my cast iron, when it has build up, and throws it outside on a fire then just oil it up as usual.
❤
🇳🇴👍👍
Do you use disposable diapers? And where do you dispose them
You really need to get spikes for your boots/shoes

I’m sure you wish Mother Nature would make up her mind and be spring or winter.
That little stream you have to cross. Can't you build a little bridge for it ?
What do you do with moose brain lol?
