  • After 3 long years of not traveling, I finally made it back to Sydney in Sep 2022. After staying in Sydney for a little over 2 weeks it was time to go back to San Francisco and back on United. I have flown this route may times previously but this was the first time I flew on a 777-300ER between these two cities. Compared to the 787, the T7 was a bit louder which I preferred actually to help drown out noise. The food was okay, nothing to complain about. I feel where UA shines is their IFE is pretty good with lots of selections. You for sure won't be bored. Overall the flight was uneventful.

That's the same aircraft type that I flew in May of 2021 from Honolulu to San Francisco and the flight is good and okay, 4 and a half hours.

    Just flew this trip.
    It was surprisingly easy.
(Love the "RELAX" on the SYD schedule boards)

I did SYD to LHR via SFO and it was a very comfortable flight and good service.

Looks like a pretty comfortable flight. Food portions looked a bit small, but passable to me. Economy plus looks like a good choice if you can get it for a 13 hour flight like that. Nice vid.

Thanks Jeff for watching! The food portion was indeed a bit small. In fact I asked the FA whether there was another main entree that I could have but they never got back to me :( I learned my lesson and will eat a bit more at the airport before the flight. I make this trip quite often.

The triple 7 is based on miles my most flewn aircraft. Based on miles it must have been 3 times around the globe. Qatar. Emirates. Etihad. Swiss. Singapore. Thai.
    -300 ER. Called the beast.

Cool report. No nerv killing talking or 4 million subtitles......
As a frequent flyer i am never scared on board of an airliner but 12 hours just over water is another thing. Would like to see the flight crews ETOPS flight plan. Hawaii, Samoa, Fiji as 180 minutes safety airport ?

Thanks glad you enjoyed the report. Good question about the ETOPS flight plan, I’m curious as well to know what are the diversion airports.

Any avgeeks know why the middle section of the flaps comes up then back down during takeoff? 6:20

Is your flight to San Francisco almost full and how many hours did you sleep on the plane?

Why wouldn’t the water drain from the sink?

I'm not sure. I didn't bother trying to find out.
