❤ Thank you for sharing your struggles with major depression. I also have suffered from major depression for 35 years. I am going through one of those ebbs where my meds had to be changed, but fingers crossed, it seems to be working well. I am a stitcher to. It is the one thing in my life that always brings me joy 😊. I always look forward to your videos. You make me laugh, and that is precious to me. I only wish we could enjoy you more often, but I absolutely appreciate how busy you are. Thank you for all you do, and I look forward to all your videos to come.
Awesome, Kyleen!! I love your videos. Thanks for sharing your mental health struggles. I have seasonal affected disorder too. I got a happy light that simulates daylight a few years ago. It has made a huge difference in my life. I love the tshirt!!! I need one. I love the fabric for your wedding stitch. It is so gorgeous!!! I look forward to your next one!! ❤❤❤❤
I am so pleased to find another person who can acknowledge the challenges of having a condition like depression…it is only through openness that we find the way to keep going forward. Thank you. Do you watch Renewing Stitches? She loves finding magazines from the 80s and 90s to do in today’s colours. I love the Hathaway Stitchers too…instantly enabling!
Thank you so much! I absolutely agree. Talking about it really helps. Never heard of renewing stitches but I will have to check them out! Thanks again for the kind words💕
I just love your style! I'm also working on the Rainbow Brite book and love seeing someone else so excited about it. I also deeply respect your openness regarding mental health. I agree that it's so important to talk about. I look forward to seeing your progress.
I was so happy to get the rainbow brite book. Thank you so much for the kind words, I am so happy to receive such positive feedback about talking about mental health because in the end, it does really help when ya talk about it.❤
Another great video Kyleen and saw lots of new editing tricks in this one - loved Siri going off *hilarious* 😂 Thank you so much for the shout out, bless you.
Lots of great projects you are working on, dental issues in cats are no joke. We rescused a shelter cat who had stomatitis, he must have been in so much pain, had all his teeth removed and he is like a happy kitten now. Running and playing and enjoying life. So glad you could help your girlie
Thank you so much! I felt guilty for not knowing the signs earlier but I’m just glad Molly completely recovered. Dental issues in cats is definitely no joke
I totally love your tangents. I picked up cross stitch again to help me relax as I struggle with PTSD and it really does help calm me. I also search and spend too much money on cross stitch patterns, have no idea when ill be able to stitch them, but i buy them all the same, that and fabrics...
Just discovered your videos! I’m a cross stitcher ICU pharmacist who also worked through the pandemic. ❤ my nurses so much! Much love to you and happy stitching!
Kylee, every time I watch an episode - you make my heart happy. I think you are my favorite person to watch. 😊 You’re getting awesome at the edits! I never had depression before- just PTSD and anxiety from childhood traumas (you know, like half of us). Since Covid, I had the OG one and almost took a dirt nap, I think I have it (temporary? Idk). I suffer from migraines assoc with vertigo for many years now. Lots of icky days. Glad to hear someone else who is so easily able to talk about therapy and depression. I’m so glad I found you. I hope we enlighten each other! ELF!!! 😂 I embarrass my girls when we go to any store that has an escalator 😂. You know I have to do it! Take care - “see “ you soon! ❤
Aww thank you so much, Beck! I’m loving your flosstube as well…editing is no joke… literally took me all day to edit this, and it was the absolute bare minimum because I didn’t want to overwhelm myself with all the things you can do with editing…ELF🤣 good, atleast I see one person got it😆😆
Great video! So glad to have found you. Such beautiful wips and fuuuuunnn stash! Lindy Stitches actually stitched Bag Ladies and it’s fabulous! Keep having those good days on purpose - I’ll certainly try!
Thank you for all the kind words!! This is the first time I’ve seen anyone stitch one of my patterns besides my sister and one friend who is doing a model. I would have shrieked out loud, except the reason I’m watching Flosstube at 5 am is because my Molly (14 month old) decided she wanted to wake up at 4 and happy scream at the top of her lungs and she finally went back to sleep 😂 if you want to do a SAl/ start a long for Black Cat season, my tentative plans are to start in August. Thanks again ❤❤
You are so welcome! I thoroughly am enjoying your pattern and look forward to seeing more. I absolutely will join you in August for a Black Cat Season SAL…penciling this in as we speak😆 So glad your Molly made it back to sleep, hopefully you got more stitchy time in😁
So nice to find your channel. Can so identify with your journey as I am a retired nurse who spent my nursing career in Philly and used crafting to ease my own anxiety. Love your choice of patterns, Nora Corbett is my favorite designer too. I'm returning to Philly in October for Rebel Stitchers retreat. Maybe I'll see you there.
Recently found your videos and am enjoying them! I applaud you for talking about mental health issues! As a retired nurse, I hate the stigma attached to mental health issues. The sadest part is it’s so hard to get children seen by mental health since the pandemic we have seen such an upsurge in the need but most don’t see children under the age of 14. I worked through the pandemic in long term care in a facility that was unfortunately tied for second place for the most deaths in my state. I still have the nightmares about it and unfortunately probably always will. Happy Stitching!
So glad ya found me! Thank you so much for the kind words….the pandemic was tough, hope you are enjoying your retirement and stitching all the things, it is well deserved!
I laughed out loud about the post-it at the beginning. I have the same self deprecating humor. We also have the same mental illness diagnoses, so maybe it’s a symptom; I’m fine with that 😂. Just had a hard week too, but I’m recovering quicker these days, so that’s nice. The kitty on the Sheena Pike looks amazing!
That letter "A" is looking fabulous! You are such a wonderful addition to this community! You should be so proud of yourself! You definitely brought a smile to my face today! Loving your project bags! 💝
Love your vintage haul!! Also, I silent screamed when you showed the Rainbow Brite book. Gonna have to start ebaying for it 😂. And. Girl, I enabled myself and also bought 4 more Laurie Prindle patterns 😂🤣😂. They're in layaway purgatory for now lol. How have I never really looked at Prairie Schooler before?!? Love their older patterns and ornaments uuuuuugh. My wallet is crying 😂. Much love! 💙
I just have to say I love watching your videos! I laughed out loud so much at Siri going off (my google home does the same thing!) and your intro with the clicker. Thank you for a wonderful morning reprieve. Your stitching is so fun, and I love your gorgeous fabric choices. Thank you for sharing your personal stories and vulnerability, it can be so helpful to know others are experiencing similar situations. Can't wait for the next one!
Thank you so much. I’m so glad you had a great morning watching my totally unplanned Siri blooper🤣🤣 that was a real look of shock on my face too…no acting there😆 sharing my personal stories is quite scarey in itself but it’s worth it if it helps someone out, ya know? Happy you found me here on the flosstubes. Happy Stitching💕🦄🐈
I just finished watching your video! So good! I laughed so hard when Siri started talking. Your face was priceless. Please keep doing these videos! It starts my day with a smile!!
😂😂😂 I dropped a knitting needle in between the seat in the car (watching while waiting for Lily to take a test). I said SOB and you said “needle down”…. 😮 I quick looked up like what the?! lol
Kyleen mental health matters and should be talked about in the open. Just because you are unable to see it, does not mean it does not exist! The stigma is there is because people do not understand about anxiety or depression and are uncomfortable with the unknown. Thank you for sharing your story! Do you prefer stitching with Kreinik or Petite Treasure Braid floss? Love your Aida crunch scale ! Your project tube looks great. Happy Stitching.
Thank ya so much for the kind words…..so I absolutely prefer petite treasure braid now that I’ve tried both….even thinking of converting Kreiniks to PTB whenever I can, we shall see!
I use an over-head lamp and I clamp my q-snap into my lowery stand so I can adjust my stand and get the stitches up closer to my face when I’m sitting in my chair…hope that helps! Let me know if you have any questions
