I've probably heard this song 10 or 15 times and it never gets boring. This sadness in the voice and yet the power, accompanied by strings and piano and at the end a real explosion of feelings - it always overwhelms me!! One of the most beautiful songs I know!!
This is the most beautiful Metal ballad I have heard in the last 10 years. I'm not a big fan of growling and screaming, but when Elli does it and especially because it's in German, enjoyment is guaranteed. The band is also a group of phenomenal musicians and it is obvious that they work in a friendly artistic environment, because with a small budget, they release incredibly high-quality and numerous videos. In addition to the already mentioned songs, I also recommend "Amok".
I've never heard this band before. Such a great metal voice. German fits so well with metal growls. Speaking of German and "Feuer", you need to watch Rammstein performing 'Du Hast' in Paris. What a show. P.S. G... Dress.. Wow.
Frontwoman Elli Berlin is also makeup artist for the band (apparently, that's how she got a living before Null Positiv started to roll, so, why not?) Glad to see reactors discovering this band, they deserve much more love!
Thanks guys! Didn't know the band although I'm from Germany. Will check their other stuff. The song really gave me goosebumps and I was almost crying lol XD
Thank you very much for reacting to Null Positive, a band that definitely is worth a lot of attention. Beside there music quality they are really very nice people and I was sooo sad, that I couldn‘t meet / see them in September at the „Volle Kraft Voraus Festival“. If you‘re going to do more of them, I would suggest the following songs: „Freiheit“: A quite new song which shows good their mix of heaviness and melody. And ist has English subtitles 😉 „Kollaps“: Similar things to mention line for „Freiheit“. Just without subtitles. „Friss Dich auf“: If you like it heavy and creepy, this song is your song 🤘
That was excellent. Another German group Beyond the Black, lead singer Jennifer Haben, worth a listen. She sings in English, though. Heart of the Hurricane, is good one, live at Wacken 2019 or lyric video. 🤘🇦🇺😍
I remember the time that you were treated almost like a criminal when you dared to take a camera to a concert, and now idiots are watching a live performance through a small screen on a phone. And about the German language, many people only know it from (war) movies, so they are surprised how beautiful it can be if they hear it in a poetic way. Greetings from the Netherlands.
For me as a concertphotographer those smartphones also very annoying, especially when I am doing full show for the band and want to take shots above the fans from the back.
Sorry to segwau but, did you see Floor Jensen's release of 'Let it go' from Frozen? It is great and she got inspiration from her 3 yr old daughter who has been going around singing it for months
Greetings from Finland! I just discovered this German band a few weeks ago & really like their music. However, the band's name is "Null Positiv", so you might consider fixing the title of your video. P.S. The song's name "Wo Rauch ist, ist auch Feuer" is best translated into English as "No smoke without a fire". P.S.S. Should you be interested, Floor Jansen just last week released this great cover inspired by her 4-year-old daughter's obsession with the song: Let It Go - Frozen (cover by Floor Jansen) ruclips.net/video/18s6ZdvAfQk/видео.html
Do you think a more accurate translation would be "Where there's smoke, there's fire"? Literal translation is "Where smoke is, is also fire", so that's how I interpreted the meaning behind it.
This is an amazing song. Love your reactions. The first video I came across quite awhile ago was this one by them, ruclips.net/video/99J2n3-2KFs/видео.html . Will be easier for Mike to pronounce, Null Positiv - Kollaps (Official Video) lol, as well as being another amazing song.
great reaction, have a German great hard rock band making great music the band is called THE PINPRICKS - Stream Concert [2020] Find it here on RUclips.
Hi Ginger, Mike, Thank you for your reaction, as usual :). Just love you guys and the way you go about it :). This is very good and clean, but not really live, unfortunately :). I do like the atmospere and mood, and the dark voice, however :). German is indeed a very good language to sing in, which is why I'd suggest you also check Vilja Lied from Die Lustige Witwe (The Merry Widow) as performed by Floor Jansen on the Beste Zangers 2019 show, first song, first episode, for Henk Poort. :) That song actually set the tone for the entire show series, as only one person of the 7 singers present had heard Floor sing before (in After Forever), and they didn't know how good and versatile she was. It is a darkish song as well, BTW. A question regarding Patreon, as for some reason my email does not work at this moment (until I reboot my machine, but can only do that after the backup I am creating is finished, tomorrow during the day sometime): I'd like to join, but would like to pay on a yearly rather than monthly basis, and ideally an amount I would like to select myself, rather than be stuck with one oif the 2 amounts selectable currently. Is that possible by any chance? Thank you very much in advance! Love and warmest regards, Wim

@@MikeandGinger I'm happy you dig into bands that aren't considered mainstream. Let me suggest a couple more to you that are musically very interresting and enjoyable. All three suggestions have videos that are artistically pleasing, which is another reason to dip a toe in their "universes". Enjoy! :-)

Where there is smoke, there is fire too
(From lyricstranslate)
And now, you stand here in the rain
That cleans and washes the wounds
But you cannot move
When you also cannot feel the pain
And you know it has happened
You see the smoke on the horizon
You wanted to stand like a rock
But you did not know how...
For where there is smoke, there is fire too
And where fire burns, there is death
There, blood will flow in torrents
And the earth will turn red
And where blood-soaked soil burns,
Many will not come back home
And those who have survived
Cannot be happy anymore
Your bones are shattered
But your mind rests still and clear
In the echo of victory cries
Your exhausted heart cannot perceive them
For you know it will happen
You see the smoke on the horizon
They all will perish
When the last storm arises
For where there is smoke, there is fire too
And where fire burns, there is death
There, blood will flow in torrents
And the earth will turn red
And where blood-soaked soil burns,
Hope will still thrive
And those who once were lost
Will then be immortal
And therefore I know that we will live
No darkness is everlasting
For where there is smoke, there is fire too
And where fire burns, there is death
There, blood will flow in torrents
And the earth will turn red
And where blood-soaked soil burns,
Many will not come back home
And those who have survived
Will be our future
