Weirdly enough this is how I stumbled across asmr. I always thought it was a goofy weird cringy trend. But during lockdown in 2020 I started watching videos like boot cleaning and hoof trimming/farrier/horse shoeing, leather working and wood carving. I think I inadvertently got myself hooked. I could watch (and listen lol) to him clean boots all day. Love the before and after!
And there are all these half naked girls trying g to make authentic noises, when in reality, ya know most guys watch cause... well... half naked girls..
I normally use ASMR videos to concentrate while studying so usually i don't get to watch them...but man that was so satisfying i could not get my eyes off the screen. So cool and clean.👌👌👌👌👌
It never ceases to amaze me how MANY ASMR artists have sprung up in the last several years since I've been watching this genre of video. Angelo is definitely someone whom I'll continue to watch. Keep up the great work Angelo! I'll be subscribing.

The wow factor of most transformation comes from just CLEANING!!! I love what you do but i can't understand that people dont have the time to just wash their shoes. After that maybe add a little paste. Still great job 👏
It ain’t always about time; there’s lots of stuff people pay for in life that we could do ourselves. But part of the reason we form societies is so that we don’t have to do everything ourselves. We all contribute in different ways and rely upon each other’s. Like, this person is clearly a good shoe shiner, that’s how he contributes. But maybe he’s not a good chef, and so he often eats out, relying on other people’s contributions in that area. Hell, maybe the chef cooking his meal just got his shoes shined the past weekend. Of course ideally those contributions would be far more evenly valued and rewarded than they are but that’s a different topic haha Also, depending on the area you live/frequent, shoe shiners can be a lot more readily accessible than going home to do so yourself.

I'm not certain, looks like it could be to remove the old coating off the Goodyear welt to condition the leather so it maintains its water resistance, or it could be to dislodge gunk and also burrnish out cracks starting to form?

Nice work. I shine boots as a hobby myself and I saw some old stuff and some new techniques. What would have been helpful is to see what each tool/tin/liquid/etc you used before using it. That way, we could try out what you used and see the results ourselves, as well as experience how each tool or tin of polish feels for reference.

I must say, your the first shiner I've seen use a railroad spike to get all the grime off a boot... I would think using it that hard would be bad for the boot long term?
@@stonedspudz3044 nothing about it screams railroad spike to me. It's alot thicker than any railroad road spike I've seen and spikes usually only have 4 sides. I have a bunch of chisels this size and shape bought straight from the store.
@@stonedspudz3044 Awktually the top of railroad spikes are not perfectly centered like that, they're usually left off to the side a little bit. This is perfectly circular and and appears to be directly centered with the rest of the Chisel! Don't forget, Railroad spikes have 4 surfaces, this has like 6 or 8 idk i don't wanna count them :D

I believe that is a chisel, not a railroad spike.
It's a chisel and most likely the edge is some what smoothed out to not scrape the leather.
