usually I struggle with audio only, I can't seem to concentrate on building the mental picture. I felt like I was 10 minutes in and then the music started again and I realised the video was over and I'd been whisked away to twin peaks for 44 mins. Damn fine video
funny story. even though i time stamped the whole thing, when you said 44 minutes i had to go back and look. i could have sworn it was longer than that. it sure felt like it when listening to it. the atmosphere does a great job of drawing you into the world of Twin Peaks. a damn fine recording indeed.
I actually meditated while listening to this and it felt like I was in Twin Peaks... same thing... all the sudden it ended and I realized how immersed by became, but still awake.
Same with you here. I usually can't watch stuff (including Twin Peaks) without subtitles. However, I really enjoy listening to this and I somehow can fully comprehend it without captions
I had this cassette (found it in a thrift store) and listened to it A LOT. It got stolen in a case of tapes, and I have never found it again. Thanks for posting this.
I've been listening to this while driving and it makes me feel like I am Diane and that Coop is talking to me about the case. I like that the audio sounds like the locations he's supposed to be at. Especially the plane turbulence. I love this. Thank you for uploading.

@@Valkyr13713 I don't have one near me but omg! What a deal! However it is in my Book Depository basket. I'm going to have to play it in my car and finally listen to it, I know I'm missing out. But one of the things that's been bothering me is the whole Diane is Twin Peaks thing. Twin Peaks just keeps on giving, everytime I watch I learn something new!🪵
Watching Twin Peaks for the first time ever, and I can't stop laughing at the absurdity of Cooper, a guy from DC being on assignment in a small town in the state of Washington, telling his tape recorder he just had a great breakfast and excellent coffee, and (in 1990!) he somehow expects this Diane in DC to receive and listen to his recordings in a timely manner. Like, how. Does he have a tape flown to DC every few hours? If I hadn't cheated and discovered Diane exists, I would have honestly guessed this Diane isn't real and is just a figment of his imagination.
Listening to this again reminds me why I love Agent Cooper so much! Especially his notes on finding Audrey in his bed. It was one of those scenes in the show that proved what a genuinely good person he was. Upon watching The Return again, it reminds me how evil Mr. C was, too - not only in regard to his relationship with Diane, but Audrey as well. Such a powerful show!
This is *damn good* stuff! Just discovered this video by accident while browsing Twin Peaks music and video clips, and I could not be more tickled. I knew this was a real thing that they had created back in the day but to find it like this was sweet. What a fun thing to listen to. I think that when a pop culture phenomenon like Twin Peaks offers its audience another facet of that world which we've come to love, it's something special. And this audio cassette allows us some intimacy with Special Agent Cooper that we didn't have before. I think Cooper is simply great, and consider him one of the best and most original television characters ever written and acted. My heartfelt appreciation for sharing this sonic delight with fans of the series.
I had this on loop all day yesterday at work. It was, excuse me, a *damn* fine listening experience. Thank you so much OP. (thumbs up and awkward smile.)
I just started watching Season 1 (first time viewer) and my immediate first guess was that "Diane" didn't exist and Cooper must be lonely/delusional/dreaming
Seattle Wa. Here 🙌 The Palmer house is in the town I grew up in. The newest home owners offer tours. It’s in Everett Wa. During the most recent filming, the crew went to the surrounding neighborhood to warn them of the filming.
Thank you for uploading this. 😊 When I hear Cooper, I instantly crave for black coffee with cherry pie 😋 I guess one can use this recording to fall asleep too... 😌
Love how he pulls out the tape recorder at One Eyed Jack’s. That wont blow his cover! And while we’re at it, why not record a rogue operation that later brought disciplinary charges?
I loved Twin Peaks when it came out onTV, I had to hurry home from work every Thursday night to watch every episode. So glad when it came out on VHS. Another favorite of mine is Midnight Cab with Walker Devereaux and Christa!
Love this, truly. Recently started rewatching Twin Peaks with my friend who I last watched it with over a decade ago :) Makes me wish we could have heard responses ... I could imagine Diane sending responses and Cooper just listening with a tired smile on his face before he goes to bed. They're besties, I'm sure of it.
Thanks so much for your efforts in this post. As a collector I have refrained from playing my copy which has been a permanent fixture to the collection unopened, and it was a treat to finally hear the first half, which brings me to the question about the possibility of our getting to hear side 2? Or did putting this together wear you out making it tough to get motivated to go through all this again? PS, keep all the analog ambient sound and hiss, as cassette was the only official release of this recording and deserves to be preserved in that manner.
is there a different version that maybe i am not aware of? because the simon&schuster 1990 release in this video (the tape i have) is just a single double sided tape with a total running time of 45 minutes and what i uploaded is side A and side B of that tape put together into a single recording with Audacity...
My bad. I was looking at a track list here that is evidently doubled up and looking it over again you have it all up. My apologies for not paying closer attention and thanks for the quick response
@@kenwickcook8413 no worries, i would have been excited to learn if there was another version, or a 'deluxe' release for an anniversary or something like that honestly.
true, the quality could be better, all i had to work with was an old Optimus CTR115 portable cassette player, a Zoom R16, and Audacity. but im happy with the fuzz and tape hiss to be honest. it adds character.
RUclips deleted lee’s reading of the secret diary of laura palmer (audible original i believe) anyone knows Where i Can find the audio/video again?? 💔🌲
I LOVE THIS CAR RICK, OLDER THAN I AM. I STARTED DRIVING A 62 GALAXIE SUNLINER CONVERTIBLE PULLING A HAY TRAILER FOR MY MOTHER AT ABOUT 13. MOM HAD HORSES OVER 2ND STREET PAST YOUR GRANDMOTHERS STORE! I WOULD STOP AT THE 2ND AND D, STREET MARKET AFTER MY PAPER ROUTE FOR A SODA IN A WATER COOLER FROM HER STORE, SOMETIMES HIKING DOWN THE HILL FOR A LOAF OF BREAD IN THE MORNING FOR A QUARTER.
Thanks for this, but a protip. I presume you're using a USB tape deck and Audacity (or similar), have the volume on the deck at max and lower the input volume within the program to halfway or lower. That'll take care of the hum, which is electrical and not part of the tape.
no, the tape was played in an Optimus CTR115, and recorded directly from the 1/8inch output with a ZoomR16. the only thing Audacity was used for was to combine the A and B side files into one long one.
Funny thing, in real life Salish Lodge (the real life Great Northern) is by far the most expensive hotel in Snoqualmie/Twin Peaks, with prices starting at $400/night. Plenty of places under $150 in town these days, maybe not in the '90s though...
yes, it is an actual tape. it is not in print currently, so i would suggest looking to sources like amazon or ebay if you want a physical copy. but if you are content with a digital copy you could just record my upload (in stereo) with audacity or buy it (in dual mono) here shorturl.at/sBCOX
i own the tapes. i dubbed it from the tapes to digital by running my tape player (an Optimus CTR115) into my Zoom R16 mixer and exporting the recording to my computer. made the 'video' with Filmora.
YES. Lynch hinted in an interview that it would take years before there would be a seaon 4, because of how long season 3 took to make. he did not rule it out sooooo....
the publisher has a digital version for sale for 5 USD, but if that is too rich for your taste there (cough) arewaystodownloadYTvideosasaudiofiles(cough) might be other ways to get your hands on a digital copy of the recording.

You're in the wrong dimension. But, it's probably where you belong. Just a guess....
I think he's supposed to be from the Philadelphia FBI office. 🤔
Either that or she just has hours and hours of audio to review later about things like how good the coffee was and how much he likes douglas firs
Mr C is Coopers ego/shadow. I dont need anything...i want
I am a sucker for the super nostalgic 80s & 90s feel that this show gives. I wish I could go back and live in that time 😔
Just finished all Twin Peaks, even international pilot and fire walk missing pieces. Still can't get enough, thanks for sharing this.
Oh, I've never heard of The Missing Pieces before, just Fire Walk With Me. Gonna try to find it to watch
Beautiful supplement to the series. I love this. It includes the original music. Gorgeously written produced and performed.
34:34 Fear is the mind-killer.
Been falling asleep to this for a few nights now. Pretty good
This is *damn good* stuff!
Still to this day I'm wondering how Diane got Coop's messages on such short notice
I just started watching Season 1 (first time viewer) and my immediate first guess was that "Diane" didn't exist and Cooper must be lonely/delusional/dreaming
@@thomasvleminckx she's in season 3
@@TYM968 sort of, even that is debateable
@@brontebell9676 lol everything is debatable in twin peaks

Seattle Wa. Here 🙌 The Palmer house is in the town I grew up in. The newest home owners offer tours. It’s in Everett Wa. During the most recent filming, the crew went to the surrounding neighborhood to warn them of the filming.
If I had to fight with Cooper over a woman I would just let her go and tell her that she is lucky
Or fight with a woman over Cooper, even.
I got maybe half way through before pausing and doing my best to make a damn good cup of coffee.
Thank you for uploading this. 😊 When I hear Cooper, I instantly crave for black coffee with cherry pie 😋
I guess one can use this recording to fall asleep too... 😌
Damn fine upload! Many thanks :D
Where has this been all my life.
where have you been since this was posted?
This is the best video I have ever seen. True American classic. God bless.
What a perfect day to find this. Thank you for sharing. I didn't know that existed. Happy Twin Peaks Day everyone!
"coffee scented hot water"
even though the rest of the breakfast sounded decent...that coffee scented hot water though (sad sigh)
Thank you so much for uploading this ❤️
2022 anyone!! I love hearing this at work (as security officer) just so relaxing and awesome to listen 😎 any Twin peaks Fans lots of love 👍
Love how he pulls out the tape recorder at One Eyed Jack’s. That wont blow his cover! And while we’re at it, why not record a rogue operation that later brought disciplinary charges?
Best podcast ever recorded
Thank you so much for sharing this!
I love that they include excerpts from the show! Thank you for uploading this ❤
i will be falling asleep to this every night for the rest of my life. thank you for your service
Thank you Diane! ❤
I loved Twin Peaks when it came out onTV, I had to hurry home from work every Thursday night to watch every episode. So glad when it came out on VHS. Another favorite of mine is Midnight Cab with Walker Devereaux and Christa!
Happy Twin Peaks Day
Thank you for this, I listen to it on my morning walks.
Very cool, this was just the tonic I was looking for that I didn't know I needed.
I really want to have this goddamn cassette :) Must boot one then!
I used to have this cassette
Love this, truly. Recently started rewatching Twin Peaks with my friend who I last watched it with over a decade ago :) Makes me wish we could have heard responses ... I could imagine Diane sending responses and Cooper just listening with a tired smile on his face before he goes to bed. They're besties, I'm sure of it.
8:36 Electricity........ Judy was present in that morgue.
This is fantastic thanks for the upload
@@kenwickcook8413 no worries, i would have been excited to learn if there was another version, or a 'deluxe' release for an anniversary or something like that honestly.
my man drove 2 hours and ran out of gas. They don't keep those bureau cars topped off
i like to think he blew his gas money on coffee and pie
If you're brave enough to send this to a complete stranger, I can digitise this in excellent quality with my restored Technics cassette deck.
true, the quality could be better, all i had to work with was an old Optimus CTR115 portable cassette player, a Zoom R16, and Audacity. but im happy with the fuzz and tape hiss to be honest. it adds character.
Wow this is pure gold
One of the best videos ever on RUclips.
This is golden
RUclips deleted lee’s reading of the secret diary of laura palmer (audible original i believe) anyone knows Where i Can find the audio/video again?? 💔🌲
Well done. Great work here, Thank you. Peace, Love & Health to all.
Bob, why did you disliked the video man?
Bob AND Judy...
Now there are 3 dislikes.
And now there are 8. Wft is going on with that people..
They did it to take your Garmonbozia...
Why have i listened to this 4 times already?
Oh boy, this is up... can’t wait to listen to the whole thing.
Thank you so much for this... I LOVE it!
The best, really.
isn't it though?
Thank you for putting this here. 👍
This theme song.... Oh, it makes me so aware of a hole deep inside me....
Thank you! Always wanted to hear this.
What great artwork, thanks for the upload!
Twin Peaks is awesome..
Diane was the main character of Twin Peaks
Dale cooper was agent Mulder before agent Mulder was agent Mulder.
Dale Cooper was Agent Mulder when Agent Mulder was Agent Denise Bryson.
Honestly, yeah 😂@@seamussc
Thank you for this!
I WOULD STOP AT THE 2ND AND D, STREET MARKET AFTER MY PAPER ROUTE FOR A SODA IN A WATER COOLER FROM HER STORE, SOMETIMES HIKING DOWN THE HILL FOR A LOAF OF BREAD IN THE MORNING FOR A QUARTER.
thanks for sharing :D
I love this thank you
Diane. Diane can you hear me?
Thank you!
that hits the spot !
5:58 the best moment XD
Is Kyle voicing Cooper on this cassette?!
yes indeed. and he was nominated for a grammy award in 1991 for his work for best spoken word or non-musical recording.
I love him so much
39:00 . . . I've spent some quality time in Hungry Horse, MT too !! . . . "the owls are not what they seem".
Now this is damn good video
Thanks for this, very much. I wish you had passed a filter to remove the white noise on the background... even though it gives me some nostalgia
understandable. i recorded it from the tapes and a little hiss from the tape player was bound to happen. it kind of adds to the vibe i think.
@@wrldwideindifference Yeah, I listened to it and I really like it, it's ok! Thanks for all this.
Is this an actual tape? If so, where can you buy it!?
yes, it is an actual tape. it is not in print currently, so i would suggest looking to sources like amazon or ebay if you want a physical copy. but if you are content with a digital copy you could just record my upload (in stereo) with audacity or buy it (in dual mono) here shorturl.at/sBCOX
THANK YOU!!!!!
WHERE DID YOU FIND THIS?!?! Did someone isolate these tracks? This is amazing!
i own the tapes. i dubbed it from the tapes to digital by running my tape player (an Optimus CTR115) into my Zoom R16 mixer and exporting the recording to my computer. made the 'video' with Filmora.
@@wrldwideindifference I LOVE YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS. THANK YOU!

@@wrldwideindifference What a legend. Thank you bro/sis
@@wrldwideindifference are you Agent Cooper or Diane?
Season 4, please!! 😜😎
YES. Lynch hinted in an interview that it would take years before there would be a seaon 4, because of how long season 3 took to make. he did not rule it out sooooo....
Evil Coop dislike this.
So did original Dougie
Ah, the days when you could bring your own coffee on a plane without being thrown into Gitmo....
Are these tapes that can be heard in the episodes or like redacted tapes?
some of these recordings can be heard watching the show. more of them can be heard listening to this.
So good! Do you have a download of this? I would like to put it on my mp3 player.
the publisher has a digital version for sale for 5 USD, but if that is too rich for your taste there (cough) arewaystodownloadYTvideosasaudiofiles(cough) might be other ways to get your hands on a digital copy of the recording.
thank you 😭
I had this in paperback
