Trevor, my friend, is the great man you see leading this song. In February this year, there was a horrific accident at the G Live venue in Guildford, where the band were due to perform later that evening. A 4.5 tonne metal door fell on both Trevor and Paul, their tour manager. Paul died at the scene: he was only 44. Trevor was taken to St George's Hospital, Tooting, where he died of his injuries, in the presence of his family, two nights later. They are both very sorely missed by all of us.
So incredibly sad... I just watched the movie and I love it.....Rest In Peace
What an awfuI thing to happen. Makes me hold this band dear in a whole different light. Great music and good friends with the talent to really touch people will never die. Obviously, I did not know these gentlemen. But this music and knowing what you must have been through will keep in my thoughts forever.
What a somber reminder of our own fragile nature. I know this wasn’t recent but the energy behind it may never die. Remember your loved ones as well as the love you had for them…

I lost my wife of 58 yrs 2 weeks ago but these men singing reminds me of all the wonderful holidays we had in Cornwall and I feel really close to her thank you keep up the good work

I always think of my great grandmother, Mary Anne Brown from Cornwall when I hear this song. Her husband travelled the world working in mines because there was no work in Cornwall. He would be gone for two years while she took care of everything back home. She was always waiting for him to return. He left for one of these trips 4 days after they were married. After 10 years (and 5 children) he sent for her to come to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where they lived together for the rest of their lives.
How sad about Trevor and Paul. A great loss for thier families friends and fans♥️
Normally, when I hear a song for the first time that I really like, I listen to a lot of versions to find the best one. But I'm truly asking myself, who could ever do this song better than this? And I think, no one.
Except for any band with All McCartney in it.

Have always loved this song. Trevor had a lovely voice, so perfect for it. The setting and song always remind me of wonderful holidays we had at Mother Ivey's Bay. Every morning I would walk my dog up to Trevose Head Lighthouse, stunningly beautiful views.

I was always drawn to Trevor Grills whenever fisherman's friends would sing... I bet his kids are so proud of him and miss him so much! It makes me so sad though. See u again Trevor you made a lot of people happy... which is more than most people do!

My grandfather passed away in early 2021. I never really knew him well because when his leg was cut off from an infection he had gotten very distant from the family but this song always reminds me of him whenever I hear it so I just want to say thank you, Fisherman's Friends for blessing us with your joyous tunes.

Just the greatest Sea Shanty group that I have ever heard. I picked up the book of the Fishermans Friends for a couple of dollars , thinking it would be a few tales of fishermen..,,, Mind you this is in Port Fairy in Victoria , Australia.... Got into into the book, looked up their music, went to Port Isaac met John Brown ........did a walking tour with him in the pouring rain....Then saw him later at the Golden Lion..... for a glass or two!!!.......A most memorable day and just love the music..... I have tried to set up a singing group in Eden on the south coast of New South Wales...... Too hard..... I live 400 km away but the interest is there and they are also inspired by your music..... ..... They just need someone to lead them out of the despair that so many coastal villages and towns are going through.
