      You should buy Arai. Yes, it is lacking some features, yes it is not the lightest. What is it? It is damn safe. Totally understand why people go for other brands but in the end I wear my helmet just because of one reason: Safety.

    My AGV K6 has been great, and would buy another one again in a heartbeat. I have trouble finding hats that fit and are comfortable, much less something that completely encloses my weird noggin. The K6 fit perfect right out of the box, it's indeed super light in feel, never felt overheated even on the hottest day, and the wide field of view (not mentioned in the review) makes shoulder checks super easy. It came with a pinlock shield, glasses fit good inside it (better than my other Klim ADV), so not having a drop down sun visor is actually a plus since I wear said glasses with clip-ons anyway.

    What I've found from my 20 helmet-so-far journey is that Arai would always be more comfortable and with more plush/better interior, but Shoei is the overall better helmet.

    Interesting comparison. However, your tests cannot measure build quality, which only becomes apparent after extended ownership. I have owned numerous helmets from various manufacturers. The only ones that remained largely intact and entirely functional after 3 or 4 years of daily use were those made by Arai and Shoei. My advice would be to buy an Arai or Shoei, depending on which one best fits your head shape. In the end, you get what you pay for!

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  16 дней назад

      Thanks for commenting and sharing your insight. And while the build quality of Shoei and Arai helmets are probably among the best, there are plenty of riders who'd argue the same for the other top brands.

    Great comparo. Just got the Shoei nxr-2 Faust and I love the fit and comfort. The agv k6s was its contender but style is also a very important factor for most riders and I loved the grim reaper design of the Shoei so it had to be the lid for me. For 420€ it’s a steal

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  6 месяцев назад +1

      There aren't any X-lite / Nolan helmets that fit this category aside from the X-804 and the X-903, and the X-903 was released five years ago. The X-903 is also more akin to a sport-touring helmet rather than a race helmet

    Always perfect mix of analysis and synthesis skill, Thank you. Just a question : Within the AGV range, why don't you include the K5-S, it seems to have a more touring (sunvisor) orientation, is it not as good as the K6-s on the others aspects? thank you

      Thank you. we can obviously understand it isn't possible for you to test 100% of the models on the market, as the range of each trademark is quite large and it changes very regulary. From your tests, however, we still have a very strong basis of comparison, which allow us to narrow our choices and select the ones, which fit us the best, according to our own morphology, use or riding conditions. Thanks

    Guys, Scorpion made it to the top because it is 50 euro cheaper despite its feature rating is 0.01 lower. Really? When you make this kind of thorough testing, next time make two charts: for people who want a pragmatic choice (aka value for money), and another one for the ones who just want to choose the best product based on its characteristics (not saving 10% off the price)!

    • @Championhelmets

      @@JanParkHolmas I see it the price IS included at 10:40. See, I got the GT air 3 but would like to have a carbon as a second helmet but I want the best in the sport/touring class. At 1040 it says the scorpion

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  8 месяцев назад +7

      @JanParkHolm is right, the overview indeed has the price but it also shows the Average Stars rating , which only looks at the scores it got on each part disregarding the price. And if you would ignore price and only add up all of the scores on each you would get this:
      1. HJC RPHA 71 Carbon
      2. Shoei GT Air 3
      Scorpion EXO 1400 EVO Carbon 2
      AGV K6-S
      HJC RPHA 71
      Shoei NXR 2
      7. Schuberth S3
      8. LS2 Challenger Carbon
      9. Arai Quantic
      Shark Spartan GT Pro
      11. Icon Airflite
      I hope this helps.

      @@Championhelmets ok thanks I will try and look up this hjc then. HJC is not a brand I’ve considered as one of the very best like arai and shoei but I’ll give it a try then knowing I can always go back home and get my GT air 3😅 it is by far the best helmet I have ever owned

    • @moshtags

    Weird seing this about the scorpion exo-1400. Have had that helmet since july 23. And i absolute hate it. Pinlock sucks boyond anything i have had before. And yes. It is correctly installed. Even bought new ones. No difference. Extremely noisy in tunels. And i do use earplugs. Even pumping it makes no difference. Overall not a good helmet in my experience. Was hoping on finding something better in the video but not so sure now. Had a challenger 2 from ls2 before and that felt better.

    I still don't know how you guys weigh the Shoei, no way it's that light, it's like 1,5 kg in size MD. You need to measure the helmet noise levels with vents opened and closed.

    • @Championhelmets
      @Championhelmets  Месяц назад

      Numbers don't lie. This is the weight. The DOT version (X15) of pretty much any helmet is heavier then the ECE counter part. But the weight shown is what the ECE version weighs.

      @@Championhelmets If numbers don't lie, then you should offset the fact that Schubert S3 has the Sena 50 already built in, which is at least 150g. If you do the "numbers" correctly,. based on all the other ratings & stars, S3 should be up there amongst Top5. Other than that, keep up the great work! 💪
