Really cool video!! Always been a big fan of Broken Hope. As far back as I can remember I had always wanted to be a death metal vocalist and I DID !!! Former vocalist for Blaspherian/Crowned Beheaded but now my new dreams are far much greater those days. Still glad to see bands like Broken Hope are still kicking ass. Much praise and respect 🤘🏼

Thank you for this documentary. One of the bands I was listening to every day in the 90's during my youth. Today Broken Hope is still one of my all time favorite bands. Often so underrated. R.I.P. Joe, an amazing vocalist. It was basically Joe Ptacek and Chris Barnes (obviously from the early CC era) who had a major influence on me as a vocalist and got me into forming my own death metal band.

Saw these guys in the early 90s in Green Bay. Stood at the very front right in front of Jeremy’s cabinet. I couldn’t hear for about four hours after the show! On top of that I got kicked in the head countless times from stage divers. Met Jeremy afterwards, really cool chill dude. Seemed very appreciative of his fans!

I remember picking up Bowels of Repugnance and was blown away with how heavy Broken Hope was. The real stand out was Joe Ptacek. I didn't think any vocalist could get even close to Chris Barnes guttural growl. Joe did but there was just something sick and more brutal with Joe. My next memory of Broken Hope was just getting Repulsive Conception like close to the same day it came out, but I remember listening to this album and after awhile I heard the Psycho shower kill scene violin thing and thought that it sounded way familiar but not thinking that movie. The first couple chugs and I was fuckin up and singing along to Twisted Sisters Captain Howdy, but death metal.
Joe definitely is probably the most underrated death metal vocalist and he won't be forgotten. RIP Joe Ptacek \m/

  • @kubasniak

No fucking way this guy went from Broken Hope to Soil. I used to listen to Soil in middle school playing WoW LOL and then years later I found Broken Hope when somehow I got into extreme shit.
I also got to know Broken Hope from a video with Travis Ryan from Cattle Decapitation about how he learned to scream and he said there he loved the brutal gutterals from Broken Hope. As he is my most favorite extreme vocalist I get where he learned and imitated from, that was Joe Ptacek. I checked out their albums and man fell in love right away. He was an inspiration to many and it's fucking sad he took his own life :(
