I got the same one and hard to tell if fans actually help or just block the airflow. The fans are pretty low rpm. I wouldn't mind more noise for higher airflow. Also mine gives 50w boost and 30wturbo mode. You will get an error when updating firmware that you need the official charger. Good thing is you can use the sdcard slow on this dock
I don't feel they block airflow because I got lower temps, especially screen temp, and also lower APU temp by about 5 degrees since they're small and also maybe the design of the blades isn't directing air with optimal pressure makes might make you feel it has low rpm given the loud noise they make I would be surprised if they're below 2000rpm I don't use SDcard slot :/ but I would have liked it if you could change the fans speed, would be better in situations when you want some airflow without so much noise they're really loud, i tested noise its 50db!!!😱 I updated the firmware to 323 using the original power adapter not through the docking station, is there a fix?
The hdmi is only 60 hz refresh. It's ok for tv's and meah for gaming monitors, I have a 144hz portable monitor, and this dock is a no go compared to just connecting it to my rog plug witch already has a hdmi adapter. I'd say dont waste your money.
But what is your monitor's refresh rate? It supports a maximum of 4K at 60Hz, but at lower resolutions, it can support higher refresh rates, such as 144Hz for 1080p and 1440p It's HDMI 2.0
There's some room. I don't have a silicone case, but the clearance depth of the cooler stand is 2.5 cm. Ally's bare width is 2 cm. you have about half a centimeter
not a lot because fans are positioned in the bottom not covering the entire intake area of the ALLY, they should have made it taller, but nevertheless i've seen temp drop by about 3-4c, also screen temp was reduced, i would say its useful since its a docking station too, so if you are looking for one already, it would offer everything for inputs plus some cooling, i got it for 60$
It does support it, just make sure to update the Ally BIOS update. Just on launch, it didn't support those third-party docking stations. Now it works with 30W, but you need to use a 100W adapter, not the Ally original one. That's what I'm using, when I use the original ally 65w power brick to power the docking station with the ally, it's capped at 25w turbo
they push air to the back of the Ally but they're not positioned very well, they should have elevated the back to cover the intake area, it's nice to have extra fans on a Docking station with ports etc but it's also loud !!!

How many degrees did it drop? Do you think custom lids are worth it?
Around 3-5°C.
But the best part was cooling the chassis and display
I've yet to try it on the ally x
What do u mean by custom lids ?
Great work, thank you!

Do toi know if IS 5v or 12v fan?
I'll try to check it out and let u know !
@@TECHOSAUR thanks !
This fans dont do anything because they are facing the wrong way. They are designed for the steam deck.

Can ROG Ally X fit?
Yes, I'm using it for the Ally X nowadays, but it can barely fit. If you have a case, I don't think it would

Yes, u can use it on turbo 30w, just with the Ally original power adapter it runs at max 25w

Looks likefans blow wrong way smh pulling from intake not blowing in
they push air to the back of the Ally but they're not positioned very well, they should have elevated the back to cover the intake area, it's nice to have extra fans on a Docking station with ports etc but it's also loud !!!
The fans pull when they should push because they are designed for the steam deck so they dont help at all.
