Ahh, nostalgia~ Uncharted 2 was the very first game I got for my PS3 back in 2009. Despite the animations and gunplay showing their age, the snow effects are still incredible. Excellent work as always, Mentor 💜
Thanks, Mint! Going back and playing this again actually had me realize that it’s still a very competent third-person shooter with probably the best cover system in any game I’ve played. I’ll be interested to see how UC4 stacks up, considering I’ll be playing it at a lower refresh rate.
Actually, I’m incorrect, I believe every Assassin from Revelations Ezio onward can do this. Arno especially takes the cake, as he can even High Profile ledge assassinate the same way he does normally, even if his feet aren’t planted on a wall.
@@jcers Thats awesome then. I havent played most of the Kenway saga and I can't trigger a ledge takedown in ACU for the life of me, so I will take your word for it xD
Haha, thanks. Uncharted 2 is...not good for stealth playstyles. The stealth in this game is more about thinning out the guard count before getting into combat than it is actually clearing areas undetected, because the devs love to throw a bunch of BS detection at you to make sure you get caught, lol.
I’m covering the vast majority of stealth encounters in this game and then some that weren’t even intended for stealth, I’m bound to do one of them at some point, lol. And yes, I have seen Andy’s movies, they’re great, I watched his entire one for UC4.
This game might be old and clunky, but just by looking at it I get the feeling it works better than the third, right? I just saw your videos on the third game and it seemed as if the game was inhibitting you. In Uncharted 2, however, I see more of your characteristic fluidity. I wonder if Sony will ever bring these original games to the PC through remasters or remakes, like the last two in the series. I would love to fully know these games and these characters by actually playing them and not just through reference.
Yea, I’d have to say that stealth in Uncharted 2 is significantly more player-friendly than in 3. Uncharted 3 loves to do the thing where it presents an area as being stealthable but it actually isn’t unless the player is willing to undergo the Sisyphean task of trying to find workarounds for all of the ridiculous obstacles the devs put in the level to make most players give up on trying to do things quietly. This process usually involves a lot of sitting around and waiting, like in my video for the Château. UC2 has a few of those kinds of levels, but they’re much rarer, and the workarounds don’t require as many periods of stagnation. And yea, it’d be great to have these on PC, too. Maybe one day.
I assure you, that is not possible, haha. I have done a tranquilizer-only run of this game before but that's about as good as it gets. Even then, you'll still need to kill upwards of 50-60 people with ranged weapons.
@@jcers Ye now that I think about it , there are SOME forced situations where u cannot pick n choose ghosting / stealth and also u cant even FULLY stealth Uncharted Ll which is way shorter and thank god cuz thats not Uncharted ESPECIALLY with Chloe who doesnt have the same persona as Nate , and all of that comes by me , a fan of a Stealth and the Stealth Genre games like Hitman ( Absolution ) , Thief e.t.c. My constant gushing about UC probably gave it away, lol. Thanks, Lang!
02:05 Nate has more upper body strenght than any assassin, he can even do ledge takedowns without resting his legs on the wall
True, only Ezio can do that in Revelations with the help of the Hookblade.
Also ac4 captain kenway

@@jcers i just figured this out so thats really cool
I owe you my life, I’ve sunk about four hours into trying to finish the first main level and learning the ins and outs of the ai. I love you
This was so good! I'm gonna try doing more stealth approaches in Uncharted instead of always going in guns blazing haha
Damn, you are really good at this. I can barely do stealth on Uncharted series
