I could listen to Rev Jones all day long. The guy is an American National Treasure!
,reverend Robert jones
He sure is!!
I listened to Bob on WDET's "Blues From The Lowlands"show,I've learned about the blues from the good Reverend.
I'm so glad I found this. When the student is ready the teacher will appear. Mark twain
I could not agree with this comment more man. I've said those exact words to myself many times. I agree another very rare Nation Treasure. Valuable to music and cultural preservation and education to the degree of people like Alan Lomax and Pete Seeger imo...I have nothing but respect for this man. I hope he continues to churn out videos like this and the lessons he puts out. He needs to be even more in the public eye....more exposure to a wide audience...I would LOVE to see him do things like this on television and people are nuts...for not having him do a full length documentary on these topics and airing it nationwide.
You are a blessing for all of us , thank you Rev Jones
What a treat! Great medicine for these troubled times. How lucky we are to have access to the knowledge, wisdom and talent of Rev. Robert Jones. Thank you Truefire and Rev. Robert.
This brother is on another level. He's been through portals on the guitar
Rev. Jones' powerful story-song rises from the purest depths of American life.
Yesssss,dhsts the poent!!!
Rev Jones just makes you feel good. Through music and through words. What a special human.
Thank you, coming in from China, The blues is identifiable to those who live the full breadth of life. Pain is a part of it, it's beautiful.
Thank You Rev Sir For Being Authentic Like 24 Karat Gold . The Young Ones In School Should Be Listening To You , God Bless . Peace . ☮️🎆🎸✨🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🌟
God has given you a beautiful talent love it could listen all day.what rythum what beauty has surrounded you.
This man is so good. I am blessed to see him at a music festival and he was great.
Found this humble man's name randomly today....What a gem! Why does he not get more coverage?
That history section on the 3 chords and the different eras of music was powerful.
Rev Robert Jones has a new fan. Great story telling and music.
The Reverend is the GOAT !❤️🎸🎼
Reverend Jones - a true badass.
Rev. Jones - you inspire me sir
I am so very pleased that I discovered you thanks to your presence on RUclips.
ALL I KNEW WAS THAT PAID THE RENT, BUT NEVER KNEW WHERE IT CAME FROM"THANK YOU SO MUCH, THOMAS
Dark was the night and cold was the ground... one of the greatest American songs. Deserves to be up there with Stephen Foster and Woody Guthrie.
Yes🌗💙
Five notes, three chords ! Amazing ! The best music history lesson I’ve just learned ! Thank you Reverend ! Love it !❤️🎼🎶🎸
nice nice))
Can't help but love the blues .it's a feeling.
The mark of a skilled player is their ability to make it look so smooth and natural that you could play it too just by picking up the guitar. Just watching him play, he does this so well.
Thank you for being a great inspiration to me. Guitar is not an easy instrument to learn. But you make it feel very simple and attractive to someone. The greatest I love about this show is how content as well as the narrative of history are packaged.
30:54 just wanna be able to go back to this
I think this is the best music going
Love from Ireland Rev.!
This is the real blues. You can see the difference with other contry blues guitar lessons. especially the right hand playing.
This is one of the best I seen truefire great job
Just wow! What an incredible guy - both willing, able and skilled at sharing his wealth of knowledge. I learned more here than anywhere else in all my years of loving the blues. His descriptions and demonstrations of sounds across generations is unmatched. Thank you.
Really love the blues your awesome.
Hail thou, Rev, from Yokohama. Must confess that I can't play along while taking care of ailing toddler and wife, enjoy listening to your music. Reminds me of my acquaintances from home, the Campbell Family Sacred Steel. Blessings.
He is a great musician
I'm glad to see this man playing blues and representing the roots of the blues. Robert Jones reminds of Robert Johnson and Ledbetter. Mississippi John Hurt is another great folk bluesman. Blind Lemon Jefferson is a blues man I don't hear about at all. Each region had it's own feel of blues. Love Robert Jones story telling.
"The Foot of the mountain"
What a great place to start from. Taking the main structure and engraining into your hands to the point that you are now an entertainer. You can play a thousand songs by using the heart of the chord only. It's magnificent on it's own. The addition of a couple melodic notes and you are on your way to becoming a great blues guitarist.
Hit the chords, on time, and then lightly flavor as you abilities improve. What a beautiful concept. Thank you so much Reverend.
WOW. 🤩 Just found this today. 🎸I got my guitar outta the case THANK YOU
Thank you! Thank you! Rev. Jones, I learn so much from you …thank you!
Brilliant 👏👏👏 such a pleasure to watch that
Now THIS is where to learn some of the Blues!
All of this awesome. I'd known about blues being the forerunner and influenced American (and British) music, but hearing told like this . . . but the hip hop, I grew up with 90's hip hop and it was drawn from funk and R&B, and bit of rock but direct link with blues just makes it cooler . . . .its a living and experiencing that music history
A wealth of wisdom fer sure
An. AWSome. Man , seems he never. Sold out, accomplished and well. Read, scriptures. FLOW , from the Heart , I would cut his. Grass , edge the sidewalks , Rake the Leaves bag em up , to Spend TIME WITH HIM , TALK HIM UP , LISTEN HARD , sincerely THNX for your. Partisanship in this project
I wish I'd seen this video 55 years ago!
