It is often said the value of a watch in intrinsically tied to the person wearing it...but thinking more the value of a watch is also tied to the value of the watchmaker creating it as well..

(i allways tought quartz would not last too much ) i want a quartz to keep it for 200 years,... he smiled and said, buy a citizen. Citizen is like you vw buggy, i said , really? is it good? he smiled and said, for life... asked again ...and seiko?... he saw that i was insisting, and making myself like a fool, he turned me his back and went away.

This is beautiful. My first Grand Seiko is a vintage pieces that just turned 50 last year. I wish his vision was a little more true, as Seiko JP turned me down for service due to the age of the watch, and finding a specialist wad difficult

When I went to Japan, one of the first thing I did is to visit a watch store and bought myself a classic Seiko automatic watch.
It's like buying a katana from the best blacksmith in japan. There is an added value knowing who made it.
We don't and never will merely own a Grand Seiko. We look after it and pass it down to the next generation.
