Dead Island 2 is an action role-playing game and sequel to the 2011 game Dead Island. Developed by Dambuster Studios and published by Deep Silver, the game is set in an open-world-ish environment where players have to survive a zombie apocalypse. The game was originally announced in 2014 but has seen multiple delays and changes in development studios since then. Despite the long development cycle, it seems that have actually pulled it off and created an incredibly fun zombie killing experience.
