I can remember Stone Cross motor spares being there from the 80's. Around the corner was mad Harris the barber! Osbornes the butchers has been for a long time, it was Hughes Butchers before. Also the blind shop was Fred Evans grocers. I'm pretty sure there used to be a Firkins on Stone Cross too. The Stone Cross local used to be Glowbelle Travel shop. I did a week work experience in there!
Hi Phil enjoyed walking around Stone Cross I remember a Milk Bar and a news agent on the road heading up to West Bromwich side and a Bundy Clock and the Stone Cross pub had a Gentleman's only bar and an off licence I can see the area has not changed much apart from the type shops and the flats were the Cliffton once stood all the best Paul
Hi Phil I went to school down Westminster road on stone Cross called millfields school back in the 80s and 90s they used to take us to the shops there thank you for a brilliant video keep up the good work from Marie 😁
At the end of WW2 there were some military buildings abandoned near the Stone Cross pub which some families moved into to live, my family was one of them, they were known locally as ''The Hutments'', little is known of them today but they are shown on our birth certificates as place of residence ''The Hutments''.

Hi, Tge flats are having the cladding removed because it didn’t meet fire regs The passage way you mentioned is known as the Gully and leads to bustleholme Ran balti is closed down amazing place … didn’t have any reviews in 20 years but would guarantee it had a healthy turnover on the books The cinema was demolished and started with Gypsy’s working in a Sunday and ripping out the asbestos boiler house and transporting the debris to god knows where The barber shops have mostly appeared over the last few months but a couple are genuine establishments The nail bars are dubious Maybe you could do a vid on Friar Park ?

Too many eating places for such a small area.

I can barely watch it now. Is it nail bars and fast food?
Me and my mom used to go to the bingo hall. At the matinee.
Bingo was great fun, it would be nice if it was still a social club.
